Quite to the contrary indeed. Grace enables us to stop sinning

Absolutely. If the Divine Nature of Christ, the Holy Spirit, truly inhabits the believer, then grace is very much alive and active in your life. Not only does change the way you think and feel toward situations and people but it also changes the way you feel and act in situations and toward people. If you have truly experienced Divine grace then you can't help but extend the grace in which you have been so graciously toward others.

If divine grace is truly at work in you and through you, then sin and selfishness have no power over you.

There is so much freedom to be experienced in a life fully surrendered! :)

The law states if we sin, we fall short. the penalty is death (spiritual)

Those who say we can lose salvation because of sin are returning to law. Period!

Did you love your parents? Did you always obay them? How about your spouse? Do you always do what they wish. Well it is no different with God. we love him, it does not mean we will always obay him. Failing to live a perfect life does not mean we do not love God.

If enduring means living sinless. No one will make it. Scripture says you break even the LEAST of the law. you are found guilty of the whole law.

It is pridefull to think you could ever be holy enough to earn salvation. Even more pridefull to think you could earn salvation more than anyone else whoever walked the earth.

Grace = unearned favor. It means it can not be earned by doing anything. Those who teach we can be good enough to earn grace, or bad enough to lose it do not understand what grace is. Again, period!!
I fail to see where NotIbutChrist said anything about living sinlessly. He's referring to living a life of surrender to the indwelling Christ and allowing grace to change us from the inside out.

Yes, Grace is absolutely unearned. I don't see where NotI said it wasn't. However, and listen closely, if you have truly experienced the divine grace of God in your life, it will not only change you on the inside but it will change the way you act on the outside. That's why it is called Divine Grace because only His divine grace can transform your life. :) We are powerless to change otherwise.

Grace is what gives us the strength through Christ to repent and live holy lives... Romans 11 comes to my mind when it concerns grace
But Ephesians reminds me that only through my faith did Gid give me the gift of salvation

Grace is God giving us eternal life which we do not deserve and mercy is not giving us what we do deserve.

Care if I ask you a simple question?

We all know the what grace does for the believer on the other side of eternity. My question to you is, how does grace effect the life of a believer on this side of eternity?

Not at all.

What do you mean by grace of this side of eternity? For we all know that the body must die to be present with the Lord.

But also seeing it as grace been on the children of God because they are led by the Spirit to believe unto the Son and by that God's wrath is not on the believer anymore thus God's grace unto the believer, the opposite of wrath.

2 Corinthians 5:8
We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

John 3:36
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Hopefully I'll be making my first post defending Perseverence of the Saints before the night is over.

I may not have time though, as I am working on a research paper for my mythology class.

Agreed.

What else happens in the life of a believer who is truly being lead by the Holy Spirit?

Who said I didn't believe in Eternal Security / Preservation of the Saints? I most certainly do. However, I simply do not agree with the concept presented by either John Calvin or the Dallas Theological Seminary concerning it.

Any doctrine that makes allowances for sin is a carnal doctrine of compromise.

From darkness into marvelous light.

He does not continue in sin and if he does sin he has a mediator between him and God, the man Jesus Christ.

Also they

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Again I agree.

If salvation from a gift from God then how is it that we work out our salvation?

by shedding our light before men so that they can see our good deeds and praise our Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16)

It is the Holy Spirit worketh in us because we as believers are led by Him in the first place.

It is Him (God) that calleth, not him (man) that willeth :)

Wouldn't you agree that line 1 is the end result or the fruit of salvation and not a part of salvation? Because some people would consider this to be works.

However, I agree with lines 2 & 3.

We both seem to agree that Salvation is a gift from God and that salvation is the work of the Holy Spirit in us and not the work of man.

I do have a couple of questions, both sharing a simple one simple answer : How is that man can receive this free gift of salvation? What must a person do in order for the work of the Holy Spirit to take root and work in his or her life?

lol did ya change line one?

Its not works its the power of the Holy Spirit working in us and when men see it they praise our Father in heaven.

No works at all can earn your way in heaven because its Him that calleth and not him that willeth but by doing good deeds is like an outward show of an inward change.

Salvation is 100% a gift of God the moment we believe unto His Son. For it is written Those who believe unto the Son has eternal life.

Easy peasy :)

Nothing, no works. We should believe and confess Jesus as Lord and that God raised Him from the dead.

Romans 10:9
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

The Holy Spirit worketh through us, an outward show of an inward change.

It is written: no one can pluck them (the saved) out of my Father's hand - Jesus from Nazareth.

However those who fall away from their faith in the end is because they weren't really saved in the first place.

Only those who love the truth are saved and the truth is Jesus Christ, who He is and what He has done for us.

Once Saved Always Saved? Answer: YES
