John 7:34 Ye shall seek me and shall not find me, and where I am thither ye cannot come. That's just one, I can give you so many but I'm surprised at just how little you know and how much I need to educate you of the basics. As I suggested before, seek ye a Shepherd to teach you. I don't have the time to educate you on the basics.

Mathew 13:13 describes you perfectly:
Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

As I said I can list you tons of verses but you are not worthy of my free education so I will just leave you to wallow in those two for now(n)
Is this how the Apostles or Jesus would act? "You are not worthy of my free education"? FREELY ye have received, FREELY give!

Anyone can ask me anything and I will provide an answer if I know the answer. God commands ALL MEN EVERYWHERE to repent and believe in the Lord! There is no elite-club in christianity for the "enlightened ones", that is gnosticism, not christianity!

John 1:9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

Every single one of us Saints was guaranteed to be saved before the world was made
That's right, and that's why we should make sure we are among them by choosing to believe and trust in Christ.

The fate of the nation and kingdom of God's people is not in question. Whether or not we are going to believe and continue to believe and be found to be a part of that nation and kingdom when he returns is.

Yes I agree, rouge can be way too dramatic and gauche................I prefer lighter tones myself!

At least you still make me chuckle on occasion, sorry if your aiming for "serious discussion" it ain't happening for me anymore.

The word is rogue btw.....
You are entitled to have a chuckle at anytime you like, I'm not forcing you to believe anything I say but I do expect you to believe everything Gods Word says. Sadly, many of you here reject Gods Word because it doesn't conform to your expectations.

The saddest thing I witness here is filthy sinners accusing God of horrible things, they don't even realize they are blaspheming. They accuse God of being the author of sin and they say that he is sadistic for casting sinners into hell. The problem filthy sinners have is they compare their judgement to Gods, they think God should just wink at sin and because He doesn't they hate Him for it.

Most Christians have created a god in their own mind and they project him as the true God, they get angry when you expose their god as false and they accuse the true God of horrible things. How can I warn them to repent and surrender their will and their lives over to the only true God.

That guy knows these scriptures, he knows what I was saying is true yet he provoked me to anger by acting as if he had never heard the fact that God hides the truth from the reprobate. God only reveals the truth to His elect, the truth is not a thing. It's a person and His Name is Jesus the Christ

You are deceived, Satan has convinced you that you have discernment but you have clearly demonstrated that you are lost and confused. Your theology is completely messed up, you believe in a man made gospel which is not in the Bible. It's painfully obvious that you have fallen victim to the doctrine of Demons.

I can always tell who the true believers are and I stake my life on the fact that you are not, because I have read what you believe and it's contrary to Gods Word so I'm absolutely sure you are deceived. You have rejected the truth and embraced Satan's lie, just as Eve did in the garden.

You're not alone, most of those who call themselves Christian have apostatized and they have fallen away from the Church just as Christ predicted would happen in the last days. You have embraced the perverted false gospel, you have rejected the only means of salvation so you are without excuse.
Do you even know this lady whom you would "stake your life on the fact" is not a true believer? Not a wise statement to make.

Furthermore, in your belief system nobody 'actually' rejects the gospel, they were predestined to do so. You have no gospel to present, in calvinism there is no gospel. Gospel means GOOD NEWS, or GLAD TIDINGS, but the news you are preaching is bad news for majority of the world. The glad tidings are not that Jesus died for you, but that you happen to be one of the elect.

Please don't take this post as a personal attack, nor a rebuke, rather consider it an exhortation to reconsider your views on this clear hyper hyper hyper-calvinism you are presenting. Join us in proclaiming the Good news (the real good news) to the lost, and ditch the manmade philosophies.

So many strawmen and it's not even Halloween!

Who here blames God for sin?

Who here has accused God of horrible things?

Who here says God winks at sin?

You are using the same tactics as those who do not believe in eternal security use in saying we promote sin because we believe in osas.

Don't accuse the brethren. That's another entitys job. And he does it well enough without your help.

With the greatest respect, I must disagree with you. Why, because the Bible tells us that salvation is the work of the Lord. He is the One who initiates it and finishes it, so He can't fail. It's impossible for God to fail in anything, you would agree with that I'm sure.

You are so close to the mark, all you need to do is allow Gods Word to convince you that salvation is of the Lord. I know it doesn't sound right of fair to our minds but lets put our minds aside for a minute and let Gods Word indwell us to the point where we conform to it and not expect it to conform to our expectation.

I have read a lot of that ladies posts and I know where she stands on all of the important Bible doctrines, I didn't say that lightly and I do hope and pray that she will come to believe the truth. Jesus said "I am the truth" so I hope she trusts in Jesus for the forgiveness of her sins.

The best news is that God choose to save lost sinners while they were His enemies and while they were dead in their sins and trespasses. What could be better news than, hearing that God saves people who deserve to spend eternity in hell and He came and suffered untold agony to provide them with eternal paradise.

I never hear any of you Arminians admitting that God should cast everyone into hell but for some strange reason He choose to save some. You always come from the angle of an entitlement mentality, this is a false and sinful position to hold. Everyone needs to humble themselves and ask the Lord to forgive them for their sins and He is faithful to forgive, but many refuse top do this simple act so they are without excuse.

My God is regularly attacked here, because they say that He's not fair for choosing some and leaving others in their sin. They say that He gets a kick out of creating people whom He knows will never believe so they are created for hell and that makes God a saddest and I've heard every other kind of accusation.

I can't allow them to falsely accuse my God of these things and rebuke them

Dude. Let's say everything you are saying is right. Even though I'm certain it isn't our job to condemn people, and to bet your life that someone isn't saved!!? Cmon!!! But let's say your right about the doctrines you present.

Tell me how what you are doing jells with 1 Corinthians 13? You know that ALL Scripture is valid. So why are you discarding that whole chapter?

And please. EVERYBODY believes they have all Scripture exactly right. So saying that you are defending the Word, while simultaneously saying incredibly UNLOVING things about people invalidates that excuse.

ohn 7:34 Ye shall seek me and shall not find me, and where I am thither ye cannot come.
If you would read beginning at vs 1, you would see that Jesus was in Jerusalem during the feast of Tabernacles (vs 2, 10). He went into the temple and taught (vs 14). The pharisees and chief priests sent officers to take Him (vs 32).

Then Jesus told them:

John 7:

33 Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me.

34 Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come.

Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
If you continue reading you will see that Jesus explains the parables He spoke so that we can understand their meaning.

In vss 18-23, He explains the parable.

You have failed in your attempt to support your claim that "God wrote the Bible in such a way that it can only be interpreted by those whom He gave the gift of discernment".

Is that not exactly what you believe? He creates reprobates to show His righteous judgment and gets glory for that as well? And do you not also believe people are created for hell? I cant see the misrepresentation here.

I am not an arminian. I laid out in another post exactly what I believe in: https://christianchat.com/threads/why-so-much-confusion-about-salvation.177511/post-3708295

As to the "work of God" verse (I think I may have mentioned this before):

John 6:29 -

"29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe [pisteuēte--'you should believe', subjunctive] on him whom he hath sent."

[same word as is used in 1Jn5:13 in the second usage of G4100, "AND in order that ye may believe [pisteuēte, subjunctive]..."]

the Bible tells us that salvation is the work of the Lord.
Of course it is. It don't happen without him. That hardly means he created people ahead of time to be a believer or an unbeliever ahead of time apart from their own will to choose which they want to be.

He is the One who initiates it and finishes it, so He can't fail.
He can fail, and fails more times than he succeeds:

"the one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning His Son."-1 John 5:10

Most people will not trust in the testimony of God about Jesus. He tries to reach them through the testimony of the Holy Spirit but he fails to get them because they reject the power of God in salvation and instead choose the world instead.

We don't have to superimpose human pride onto God and make it so God can't possibly fail. He's not that arrogant so as to not allow failure in reaching out to lost sinners. He knows ahead of time who will accept the gospel and who will reject it. It doesn't make God a small inferior god just because somebody doesn't want his free gift of salvation. That's man's thinking. That carnal thinking is what caused some to create a doctrine where God can not fail.

The important point is, his failure to save everybody doesn't thwart his eternal plan and purpose. He knew how this would all play out ahead of time. He knows when and where he will be successful at populating his eternal kingdom, and when and where he will not. Just make sure, through your willful dependence on his power and love, that his plan and purpose is succeeding in you.

QFT.

Does anyone here disagree with this sentence?

I personally believe (and my pastors have taught) "God's sovereignty AND man's responsibility"

[RESPONS-ibility. Some Calvinists I've heard say these things out of both sides of their mouths: "man CANNOT respond; … so please respond, today" ;) ...without even realizing they are contradicting themselves]

Alright.

Can you do two more things for me, this is all I ask:
One: Can you tell me where the Bible states God quit(s) talking after the canon of Scripture is completed? I thought gifts are operational until we see Jesus face to face. That which is perfect as the Bible states.
Two: Can you tell me your presentation of the Gospel, how do you preach to a lost person?? I wish to know this not to critique or nitpick your answer, but to know if we are preaching the same Gospel, and if that is the case, then all is good.

That's exactly what I'm saying, a true believer knows that he doesn't know. A false believer thinks he knows it all and he thinks he can read the Bible and arrive at the right interpretation, there are thousands of interpretations so it's a dangerous mine field.

I have been given the gift of discernment enough to ask my pastor what certain scriptures mean, once I understand them I can correct others who don't. I never run with a wrong view, I don't make any claims which have not been explained and proven to be Biblically correct.
You are putting man's word over God...Your pastor seems more important to you than our Teacher , our LORD Jesus Christ our Savior , do you idolize your pastor ?

R...,
A point well made.
Never mind what pastor jones/johnson teaches..or preston39...we individually will be held responsible for following G-d's word.
Caution....."in the end times...much deception will be present". Believe me...that time is now. Study and follow scriptures.
What we need to know for eternal salvation is clear enough that a child of .....oh......ten can understand it.
I have no excuse....do you?

What this generation fails to understand, is that interpretations belong to God, NOT TO MEN. Any person who goes about to interpret the Word of God (as if they even had the authority to do so) are not being patient for God to reveal to them whatsoever God will reveal to them. They seek understanding of the Word via their own intellect, their own studies, their own knowledge. Of course they will be deceived, because they seek the TRUTH some other way then through the HOLY Ghost who will reveal all Truths to them. But as long as a person tries to interpret the Word of God via their own self, the hands of the Holy Ghost are tied from revealing anything to them.

God will reveal to whom God will reveal. But woe to that person who goes about to interpret the Word of God themselves, and worse yet teach others what they THINK is the TRUTH, based on their own interpretations of the Word. Woe unto them indeed, for many false doctrines are born because of mens own interpretation of the Word, a thing that they should not do in the first place.

Men even misinterpret the very verse that says and teaches we should not interpret the Word of God via our own private interpretations. For more information on this, with Biblical references click HERE.

Bingo.

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
