No, I have proven him incorrect.

But you, who have a predetermined bias, will only see the scriptures one way.
Yeah actually you did. The passage you quoted proved him right.

7 Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm

Hearin lies the issue. They do not understand the law or its purpose, and because of it. They turn aside to vain jangling
I understand perfectly that the purpose of the law is to give the knowledge of sin (Romans 3:20) as a schoolmaster to lead men to Christ (Galatians 3:24) and thus is able to convert the soul (Psalms 19:7).

I would point out that those who are truly converted are delivered from sin / iniquity.

Mat 1:21, And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Tit 2:11, For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
Tit 2:12, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
Tit 2:13, Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Tit 2:14, Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Tit 2:15, These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

Since sin is the transgression of the law (1 John 3:4), the opposite of sin is obedience to the law.

And therefore, those who are born again will be obedient to the law.

Not to be justified, mind you; but rather because they have been justified solely through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.

For it is written (Hebrews 13:12, Hebrews 10:29) that the blood of Jesus sanctifies.

And sanctification is definable as practical holiness and righteousness.

The righteousness of the law is fulfilled in those who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit (Romans 8:4).

after you have been brought to christ, You should know what sin is. That's why the law as a schoolmaster has completed its job in you

You rjust another jewish roots that think you can keep the law. and refuses to acknowledge yu can;t keep the law. Like true believers do

Are you perfect?

If not. you are not obedient to the law. Because you have sinned, which is transgression of the law
While the letter of the law is impossible to obey perfectly,

We, as believers, have been delivered from the oldness of the letter in order that we might walk in the newness of the spirit (Romans 7:6, Romans 8:4).

Heb 10:14, For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

1Th 5:23, And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1Th 5:24, Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

1Jo 3:9, Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

I know that I cannot keep the letter of the law (Galatians 6:13).

However, as concerning the spirit of the law (Romans 7:6), I know that if I walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit, its righteousness is fulfilled in me (Romans 8:4, Romans 5:5, Romans 13:8-10).

Mat 7:21, Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 7:22, Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23, And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Mat 25:41, Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

Mat 13:41, The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
Mat 13:42, And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

If you want to take a chance on these verses, who am I to be able to stop you?

Sin / iniquity is the transgression of the law (1 John 3:4).

You have been warned;

So the obligation given to me in Ezekiel 18 and 33 has been fulfilled concerning you.

If you go headlong into iniquity now, your blood will be on your own head.

I understand it quite well.

However, I think that in saying that I do not, you may very well have three fingers pointing back at you (Matthew 7:1-5, Luke 6:41-42).

James 2: 10 destroys this thinking

You keep ignoring 2: 10
As concerning the principle of James 2:10, it is qualified by Romans 7:6. We are delivered from the letter of the law in order that we might walk in the newness of the spirit. We have been made dead to the law (Romans 7:4, Galatians 2:19). And we are no longer under the law (Romans 6:14) as concerning condemnation and the wet paint principle.

When you read 2:10, it must be understood in the light of verse 12.

"So speak ye, and so do, as those who will be judged by the law of liberty."
No

You just take vs 10 in light of galations 3 and deut 27: 26 that even one sin makes you guilty. period

You don;t twist the word like you do to make it fit your legalistic doctrine

You can't keep the law period. Only Christ did that.

In order to keep the law you must be perfect. Even you admit you are not there.

Who is it that WORKS iniquity but those who WORK at the Law?

I'm sure in their own mind they THINK they are obedient. But they never are.

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Rest from what? From your work at the law and your iniquity.

1 Corinthians 1:30-31
30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

We don't have any righteousness according to the law. Our only Righteousness, and our only hope, is in Christ.

Hello Grandpa! I know justbyfaith well enough to know he is not a Law/Commandment keeper of his own ability or efforts.

He is referring to the Law being fulfilled in us by faith in Christ.

Rom. 8:3-4

"For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."

Walking after the flesh is referring to trying to keep the Law of our own strength and ability. After the Spirit is depending on the Holy Spirit to fulfill the Law in us by faith.

I can assure you justbyfaith is walking in the Spirit!

Precious friend, then do you also know @eternally-gratefull, who severely Disagrees with @justbyfaith about "works"? Would you Then judge him as
"walking in the flesh"?

Or: Is It Not God's Operation To: "JUDGE" us?

Be Encouraged...

I don't know eternally-grateful, have no idea what his theology is on the subject.

I haven't read any of his posts. I guess I'll get around to that sooner or later.

Yes, one sin makes you guilty; and you are to speak and behave as those who will be judged by the law.
