Man i don't believe in harvest. I don't want to judge. But that's being lukewarm to God. Now i believe there will be punishment for that. Also, i'm beginning to realize that the ones who pay for this is us christians. Maybe its because we don't do more than enough to change that. So we must begin to act now. At least pray for them so it won't be on you why your brother sins.

What is God feeling in His heart? Is He sad, or happy when He looks down at us?

He's probably sad about the world in general but maybe He does not see 'us' as each one of us should have a personal relationship with the Lord. He sees you. He sees me.

I believe that God places in our heart the particular things that He would have us learn and acquire wisdom. This may or may not include knowing the origin of the days of the weeks or pagan holidays. Obviously, these things are important to you but they are probably not what a lot of other Christians are focusing on.

The responses that you have received on this pagan holiday thread are typical, and generally amusing in nature. It's part of the Christian fellowship that is shared on this site. It's not all doom and gloom here. If I said anything to offend you I'm sorry but I'm just trying to tell you like it is.

A less evil alternative would be a Hershey bar, no almonds. I'm trending towards Snickers myself.
No Snickers allowed in this thread...:p

Well, at least you are sincere rather than poke fun at things (like others in this thread) that we all should take seriously. I commend you for that.

I made some jokes...if you go back you will see them

but I am a serious person at the core

I hope you take some of the advice I offered you

answer to all the above...
"But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication. So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate."(Revelation 2:14)

Christendom does this today, and don't even know it for the most part.

if only only only people did not apply verses they think describes God's wrath on others that disagree with them

this happens all the time

I have seen it in real life and this forum and other Christian forums are rife with it

I'll leave you to it and excuse myself now

you will have a hard time here and it will be of your own making

this is a discussion forum

so many seem to wish to make an accusation forum

we have false prophets on the one hand going on about how we must take the planet for Jesus so He can come back

and then we have false town criers who wish us to mourn over their obsession with Jewish observations that Paul said no longer mattered

and somewhere in the middle of all of that, are the real concerns that are practically screaming...it's only wisdom crying out in the streets

the blind leading the blind do not see this and itching ears need to be scratched

well...water through a sieve and dust in the wind

I believe that you are ignoring the fact that Paganization of the Church is as valid a concern as heresy. The fact that Paganism is likely too entrenched to practically do much about it does not diminish the legitimacy of the concern.

People are not born with skills in argumentation and debate; and I am thinking that the patience of 70X7 is called for in such situations. Perhaps that is expecting too much.

unobtrusive, of course I am completely serious about serving God, playing sometimes is actually a part it even in a thread in which the OP is a serious topic, playing can be a good way of sending a message or teaching something. To me I see that you're thinking is not completely black and white about how reality is but on this subject it is black and white when in reality there is great complexity about this.

What is Paul REALLY addressing, pagan practices or God’s times and seasons with Sabbaths made by Him for us?
“And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.” (Acts 1:7) Emphasis on “His own power.” Satan is a copycat.

Colossians 2:8-18
8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
*16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
19 And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.
20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,** (not in any way God's doctrines)
21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not;
22 Which all are to perish with the using,) **after the commandments and doctrines of men?
23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body: not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.

verse 8 Beware (must recognize) of the deceitful philosophy of mixing paganism as it was practiced before salvation, with the truth in Christ Jesus.

Verse 9-10 nothing can be added to the work of Christ. He is in control and rules, referring to the “beware” in verse 8. Just because it looks and feels good doesn't mean it’s right.

Verse 11 refers to law in Deuteronomy. “Circumcise the foreskin of your heart” (Deuteronomy 10:16)

Verse 12 Die to your own personal desires, and the carnal mind that can easily be duped with deceit. Again, referring to “beware” verse 8

Verse 13 There is a stark difference between learned pagan practices and real Biblical truths recorded in scripture. There is no compromising paganism with truth. The first place Satan will attack is the church. Compromise is the “Doctrine of Balaam” and the systematic removal of the God’s original truth is doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing Jesus hates. (Revelation 2:6 and 15)

Verse 14 is a man made list of rights and wrongs that are not comparable to God’s truth. It is, for all intents and purposes, the “tree of the knowledge of good and evil” that lead to self deification.

Verse 15 These demonic influences have been conquered by Christ, exposing these pagan practices referred to in verse 14.

*Verse 16 Just because you are following the directions of God Almighty, don’t be intimidated by those who are still participating in pagan practices or their sabbat observances of times. Here is what the church of Colossia was facing in their own community.
Wiccan holidays are based on the major solar and lunar events on the Wiccan Wheel of the Year.
Wiccan rituals for the Sabbats, for instance, celebrate the Sun's influence on the Earth — that is, the seasonal growing cycle.
Wiccan Esbats honour the phases of the Moon, particularly the Full Moon.

Isaiah 1:13-15 (refering to verse 15, is not abortion the serving of Molech?)
13 Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting.
14 Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them.
15 And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.

Verse 17 “Things to come” is likened unto, but not exclusive to, practicing or rehearsing for the millennial period according to Zechariah 14:16-19. I urge all to read these 4 verses.

Verse 18 “voluntary humility” is in reference to the man made indebted list of rights and wrongs referred to in verse 14. This indebted list is instigated by the pagan “worshipping of Angels” and when the debts are gone on paper, this practice causes a mindset of being better than others.

Verse 19 is the outcome of practicing what verse 18 says. The outcome actually being a denial of Jesus Christ.

Verse 20 If we have died to ourselves through Christ, why would we want to incorporate pagan practices into the church and try to sanction paganism as acceptable to God?

Verse 21 Come out of it and be separate from it all! “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.” (2 Corinthians 6:17)

Verse 22 will send you away from the kingdom of heaven, just like the fallen angels that are worshiped by the pagan doctrines of men.

Verse 23. It looks appealing, on the surface it looks good, when rectifying the man made list of rights and wrongs referred to in verse 14, but in the end it will never accomplish the appeasing of fleshly desires we all have a tendency to be sucked into, by the thinking of the carnal mind.

So many have misunderstood this scripture, saying that Paul is referring to the law of God rather than the pagan practices of Satan worship. Are we calling “good” bad? Do we really want the bad that is revealed in scripture to be deemed as good?

“Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter's clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding? (Isaiah 29:16)

Well today I'm celebrating the existence of ants, I truly believe the God of this world is an ant. Why ? Because it was so much hard work to make this world only a being with the power of an ant could do it.

I believe that ants are mentioned in Proverbs. I don't think that God is the ant, rather the humble servants of the Lord are the ants. Or maybe their worker bee. Honey is mentioned in Proverbs also.

Now on this very special day, Ant day, no work is to be done unless you want to eat, I enjoy cooking anyway so no problem. Also on this day I discipline myself by abstaining from enjoying something new until 5pm, it's the kind law that gives joy.

According to scripture the first day of the year is thirteen days prior to Passover, being the fourteenth day of the first month. Passover falls within March or April, depending on the “new moon” and the ripening of barley. By the year 1752 January 1st finally became New Years day according to the calendar we use today.

Eight days after the yearly reincarnation (rebirth) of Nimrod/Tammuz (same person), his circumcision was celebrated, according to “Ashtaroth/Semiramis,” both being Tammuz/Nimrod’s mother and wife, Queen of Heaven." Ashtaroth gave birth to Nimrod, and then married him also.

The eighth day after this annual reincarnation is January 1st according to the Gregorian calendar. According to Ashtaroth (Mother Earth), Tammuz dies every year just before winter begins. As I understand it, “groundhogs day” celebrates this anticipation of reincarnation in the spring, but obviously this was long before the Gregorian calendar existed. Gregory’s calendar was introduced in 1582, his main purpose was to change the date of Ashtaroth/Ishtar, i.e. Easter, but that’s a different story that I care to not introduce at this time.

“All the kingdom of Og in Bashan, which reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei, who remained of the remnant of the giants: for these did Moses smite, and cast them out.” (Joshua 13:12)

“Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the Lord's house which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.” (Ezekiel 8:14)

Any other things concerning times, seasons and moons of Pagan practices that we might not be aware of, please share, comparing it with scripture, in order for all of us to know what scripture says in relation to our own religious celebrations that we observe annually. Blessings to you all.
Another Hislop fan in our midst. His two Babylons was discredited years ago. If you check out Semiramis on the web you find that the person known by some as Semiramis lived about four hundred years after Nimrod is believed to have been around which makes for a difficult marriage arrangement.

Incidentally Tammuz is immortalized in the Jewish Calendar so its not just us Pagans that follow dodgy religions.

Is it anything to do with Ant and Deck? If so I propose that it replaces Guy Fawkes Day so we can burn an effigy of them both up and down the country.

Well actually I'm glad you asked, I might change Ant day to Saturday night and it can be made law that a takeaway must be eaten that night whilst burning the effigies.

Incidentally Tammuz is immortalized in the Jewish Calendar so its not just us Pagans that follow dodgy religions.

The pagan practices of Tammuz and ashtaroth and baal worship continue to this day.

Fertility rites are religious rituals that reenact, either actually or symbolically, sexual acts and/or reproductive processes: 'sexual intoxication is a typical component of the...rites of the various functional gods who control reproduction, whether of man, beast, cattle, or grains of seed'.

These pagan traditions will always be among us until Jesus comes back to rule with the iron rod. Scripture is clear that we are commanded to recognize these satanic practises. They are clearly identified in the Bible.

“Now fear the LORD and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your forefathers worshiped beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD” (Joshua 24:14).

"But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings." (Jeremiah 23:22)

Are we not doing the same thing today by observing times, and the naming of days according to pagan practices? If not, why are things waxing worse and worse. Has God turned his back on us as He did with Israel? Have we turned our backs on Him? Many posts here seem to confirm this.

Question..
How are we to understand what God accepts as righteous observances, and what God rejects as unrighteous observances? Could it be that most religions today have rejected the definitions of such, labelling these instructions as obsolete? Could God accept anything related to "times and seasons" that are not defined in His Word?
