I also printed up the verses about the "Four Cups," (Thank you sis Karraster,) for us to read after we read the accounts in scripture together.
Just remember, you don't have to have 4 FULL cups of wine.

Unless you really want to be filled with the Spirit.

Our church is having a dinner tonight, and reading through an order of service. We're splitting into tables of 8, and while there is a little mass teaching, the majority of the service will be individual table leaders walking through the service and answering questions. We should be having around 120 people.

My family will be having 2 new folks for their 1st Passover tonight at our table.
Somewhere in Colorado, right? If God's willing someday we might join you :)
Denver airport is such an interesting place to re-visit.

We're doing the same, I never heard of "The Exodus song," but I'm gonna see if I can find it on Youtube.

I also printed up the verses about the "Four Cups," (Thank you sis Karraster,) for us to read after we read the accounts in scripture together.

We also don't have a Shofar, so I downloaded a file that a friend of ours made and recorded for this purpose.

Something about that sound!

Here's one on Youtube for anyone who doesn't have one of their own.

Or it's called "This Land is mine" from the movie "Exodus" and available on Youtube.
Not getting into the 4 cups for we are reluctant to the traditions but we could be wrong. Nevertheless, I shall bring this up tomorrow in our group.
Shofar - yes we have heard that on Youtube and it's very distinctive song and probably should familiarize with it.
Anyway, have a nice Passover evening for everyone who choose to commemorate such. Have to prepare dinner now.

We're in Western Colorado, almost to Utah. We're about 5 hours away from Denver's airport.

But as you said, if God's willing!

It's wine o'clock for us right now. Thank you Father for the Lamb! The Priests offered a lamb ever morning and evening. I assume it was 9AM and 3PM.

Exodus 29:38-39
38 Now this is that which thou shalt offer upon the altar; two lambs of the first year day by day continually.
39 The one lamb thou shalt offer in the morning; and the other lamb thou shalt offer at even:

Mark 15:25 And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.

Mark 15:34-37
34And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying , Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is , being interpreted , My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
35 And some of them that stood by , when they heard it, said , Behold , he calleth Elias.
36 And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink , saying , Let alone ; let us see whether Elias will come to take him down .
37 And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost .

Exodus 30:7-8
7 And Aaron shall burn thereon sweet incense every morning: when he dresseth the lamps, he shall burn incense upon it.
8 And when Aaron lighteth the lamps at even, he shall burn incense upon it, a perpetual incense before the LORD throughout your generations.

Hey, thank you so much for this shofar sound, it is beautiful!

Thank you all for sharing a snippet of your evening, this special meal. Makes me feel very close to you, even tho we are far apart.

It's just the Mr and me, at home. The lamb is almost ready, the bitter herbs, grape juice, veggies, and barley cakes. We're using the dining room which we never do when it's just the Mr and me, only special occasions, and I can think of no occasion more special.:)

It's been a wonderful day full of sweet surprises, and reflections of how gracious and loving our Father has shown Himself in our lives. All day I've been imaging how it was at that first Passover, how they spent the day gathering things from the Egyptians, packing their necessities, anticipating leaving their place of bondage and going to a land of milk and honey. Wow. and then all the howling of those Egyptians for loosing their first born males. It must have been surreal.

It's a special night here, unlike any we have had before and I've never been or felt closer to the LORD. Blessed be Yahovah, and Yeshua our Salvation.HalliluYaH!

Thank you for sharing about your day and your meal sister. The day was pretty special here too.

We had a wonderful meal, and spent some time in the scriptures. We thanked God for His instruction, and asked for wisdom and understanding in all parts of Passover, as we know that God never told anyone to do anything for no reason. There is a purpose in everything.

We discussed sanctification, and how we know that our hope and Salvation is in Jesus, and not in the actions of these things. But also the importance of the instruction contained in every part of the Passover accounts from Moses and the Exodus to Jesus and everything that HE spoke not only at Passover but throughout the word.

This year has been the most amazing so far, I can be a slow learner...that I know for sure... But this year I've understood more than I have before. Perhaps this is part of the reason Jesus said that we should continue in His word we are His disciples indeed, "and you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free." I pray that as the other feats that follow, and next year, we will all understand more and apply it to our lives.

I'm happy that you and your husband had a lovely day.

It's wonderful to have fellowship with others who study the whole word. I'm thankful to have met you, and others here on CC. So much sharpening goes on here! Glory to God!

It's been a blessing.

Blessed be Yahovah, and Yeshua our Salvation.HalliluYaH!

Wasn't Jesus the last sacrifice? i can't see Jesus eating a lamb, but thats me. i always seen the meal Jesus was sharing at the last supper being bread and new wine. To me seeing the Prince of Peace, eating a chunk of flesh doesn't make sense. i don't mean to step on toes, and not telling others how to worship. What a wonderful Savior (Christ Jesus) is. Hope all are Blessed in their relation ship with Him.

brother don, i find it shocking that people today who say they are (well, they don't like to say they are christians) "followers of messiah" or whatever the go by would be eating lamb during the holy week. it's reasonable to assume they have arranged for a kosher slaughter of that lamb.

it's just so wrong on every level. odd the Holy Spirit isn't testifying to them.

For us the lamb rack is just food of choice. I think it's the healthiest among all meat. Can't afford a whole lamb, money and stomach wise, though.
You raised an interesting question of what they ate in the last supper. Some said it's Passover dinner and if it's so lamb must be on the menu. Some said it's not but apparently there was a bowl of something that they dipped into. I'm not going to ruin the feast trying to go by every little detail when it's not recorded and when it's recorded it's not applicable anymore. After all it's the spirit we are after, not the letter.

hub and I thank those of you who keep God's Holy Feasts.
your witness, so sincere and eloquently spoken has truly
touched our hearts and Spirits.

as Jesus kept all of the Holy Feasts = Sabbath, Passover, Tabernacles.....
and His Church was born on Pentecost...
these are surely good and just examples to follow.

these shadow our future events, the OUTLINE of God's overall plan
for humanity.

these FEASTS are NOT the traditions of men,
they are rooted in God's Holy Word -
unlike the 'so-called-traditional-Christian-celebrations,
that are clearly rooted in 'pagan teachings'.

We had an incredible night last night. The dinner was outstanding (lamb ka-bobs, roasted potatoes, chocolate fountain), and the service itself was incredible. Every single aspect of the evening pointed to Yeshua/Jesus as our Savior, Redeemer, King, and Atonement. We did worship, and some community dance. We did the parsley and salt water, the horseradish, the sweet apples, the hidden matzah, and the 4 cups of wine (juice). There were many new people there who had never been to a Passover before who were blown away that it could be so much about Jesus. We had a gentleman there celebrating his 77th(!) Passover. Every year he's learned more.

Just a question of curiosity, for those of you who go through an actual seder (order of service), do you do anything with the Prophet Elijah and the empty seat? If so, what do you do? If you intentionally don't, how come?

All in all, it was an awesome night, and my family and I were blessed by it.

Sister Least, your posts are so uplifting and meaningful. I see it the same way and am always so amazed at how the Lord opens up the scripture more and more as we love and cherish the Word with humility, and obey the truth we receive. Among so many scoffers it is not an easy thing to share what truth we have found in obedience and grace. My prayer is that those who have found truth in this upside down world will continue in truth, for it is the Way Messiah walked, and that we always remember the more we are given the more will be required, and so not be weary with mockers.

During this day I hope we all remember where Messiah was laid, what work He accomplished there, and the wondrous miracle of life renewed.

Rev 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

'COME OUT OF HER, MY PEOPLE'
jews who thought like you died in jerusalem, because they didn't heed that warning. they didn't believe anything they were told. they loved the temple and the city and couldn't handle this New Way idea.

Hebrews 10
29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

tribulation and unspeakable suffering they were left with. God's wrath. some people never learn. they did not heed the warning that the promised new covenant, according to the Spirit of Grace had come.

'COME OUT OF HER, MY PEOPLE'
and you dare to hang this label on the church. that was jerusalem. apostate and doomed to wrath.

vaudeville,

God judge between our words.
John 14
23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.

Revelation 18
18 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.
2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.
7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.
8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.
9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,
10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:
12 The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,
13 And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.
14 And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.
15 The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,
16 And saying, Alas, alas that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!
17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,
18 And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!
19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.
20 Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her.
21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.
22 And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee;
23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.
24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

Matthew 23
29 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,
30 And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.
31 Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.
32 Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.
33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?
34 Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:

35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.
36 Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.

John 14
23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.

Thanks for sharing the encouragement. There is a tremendous blessing in celebrating these feasts, because as you said, they are from God himself, not man-made attempts.

Now we get to look forward to 7 days of "un-sinful" bread, which is truly Jesus himself!

Don't forget everyone, to eat some unleavened bread today, and more importantly, partake of the true bread of life today!
