Do not look for an argument here. All are family who are in Jesus Christ. Some rever the Seventh Day while others have assumed the First Day of the week to recognize the Sabbath of the Lord. According to Paul, both are within the parameters of faith, nope and love, yet they each understand according to how the Holy Spirit has so far shown them. Sooooo.........

Shabbat Shalom!

Peace-filled Sabbath....................to ALL, amen.

I just want to make sure there's no confusion here.
Sorry, I do not recognize "the Sabbath of the Lord" as you put it, nor do I accept the mark thereof.

I accept the seventh day sabbath as appointed by Yahuah (sounds like Yahuwah), and established from the beginning, put into the 10 Commandments with His own finger, is part of the Appointed Times (mow'ed), and will be observed in the new heavens and new hearth as well. This is the sign between me and Yah that He is my Elohim, my Abba, and I am His child. I belong to no other.

Exo 20:10 But the seventh day is the Sabbath of YHWH thy Elohim: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
Exo 20:11 For in six days YHWH made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore YHWH blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Exo 31:16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.
Exo 31:17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days YHWH made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

Eze 20:12 Moreover also I gave them my Sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am YHWH that sanctify them

Eze 20:20 And hallow my Sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am YHWH your Elohim.

That's funny because where I live is known by some as little Israel [though not this particular town] and when I've caught some of the Jewish programs that broadcast out of the city, while scanning the radio, if they do pronounce HaShem they pronounce His Name - Yahovah with the emphasis on the vah = YHVH.

It gets confusing after a while. Were you born Jewish, Chopper?

I can understand the confusion, especially since religious leaders have been trying to hide the name of Yah since the days of old. I just did a lot of study to prove myself worthy of knowing His name, that I might call on Him, and He knows my name as His child.

The V in the name YHWH is a misinterpretation during transliteration. You will find this to be true when you study the Paleo Hebrew. Understand that transliteration is not translation. Transliteration is simply making the same sounds in a secondary language by simlar letters in the secondary language compared to the original. Translation is where the meaning of a word is translated to another language.

There is neither Jew nor Gentile, but I am Native American Indian, Creek and Cherokee.

praise Yahweh!

Isayah 56:1-7, "This is what Yahweh says: Keep the judgments, and do justly; for My salvation is near, soon, to come, and My righteousness to be revealed. Blessed is the man who does this, and the son of man who lays hold on it; who keeps the Sabbaths without polluting; defiling, them; and keeps his hand from doing any evil. Do not let the son of the Gentile, who has joined himself to Yahweh, speak, saying; Yahweh has utterly separated me from His people. Nor let the eunuch say; Behold, I am a dry tree. For this is what Yahweh says: To the eunuchs who keep My Sabbaths, and choose those things which please Me, and hold fast to My covenant: I will give to them, in My House, even within My walls, a place and a Name equal to that of sons and of daughters; I will give them the Name of The Everlasting: YAHWEH; which will not be cut off. Also the sons of the Gentile who join themselves to Yahweh, to serve Him, and to love the Name of Yahweh, to be His servants--everyone who keeps the Sabbaths without polluting; defiling, them and who holds fast to My covenant--I will bring them to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My House of prayer..."

Well, Hiz's post isn't confusing at all but Chopper, you know, I'll have to ask one of my Dad's docs what do they call Him. He's conservative and a tad more ultra-conservative but I'm sort of afraid to ask, as we asked one guy that was a gentile but married a Jewish lady and he went that way and they both threw Jesus out after a while of following stricter Judaism and he got mad when asked, by what Name do they call Him - he wouldn't say. I guess that put that fear in me to ask a real Jewish person that question ... but I'll try. He's a sweet-sweet man and I doubt he'd mind. He wears a yarmulke and has mezuzahs on every rooms doors and a shelf of Hebrew books in the waiting room for his patients that are Jewish. That's town's mainly Jewish so I really shouldn't fear what he'd say ... he even called me "my daughter" which was strange to me but sweet at the same time, because he's such a dear man and must see something beyond my slacks, earrings and cross around my neck. He's not a flatterer and isn't trying to convert anyone so I know his is nothing but heart. He's one of the top in his field and travels to the city for his work as well as where I take Dad.

Another thing that I've noticed on forums is that if a thread comes up on any forum about Israel, it's normally filled with those that will actually get angry defending Israel, but if anyone gets even the slightest bit Jewish, they'll try to run them off.

Yes, we're not saved by keeping the 613 Laws of Moses, especially not the sacrificial offerings nor the stoning of certain sinners, etc. etc.. but to me we should treat each other according to Romans 14 and other passages by Paul.
It is true though, that many Messianic or HRM people, do throw out Paul first --- and so does the opposite side of the spectrum, in many ways. There's got to be a way to make peace between these two ends of that spectrum. I can't find that 'line' I posted with the center and what I see as left to far left and right and far right from center, but maybe all understand what I'm driving at. My father's mother that raised me was Jewish but didn't raise me as such, but it doesn't matter to me what we are, as long as we're 'grafted in'. I always considered myself to be a gentile and there's no reason for me to consider it otherwise because we're one, fulfilling what Paul called 'the mystery'... the two olive trees become one. Hm - the two witnesses are called the two olive trees that stand on each side of the candlestick. Zech 4:3,11,12 and Rev 11:4. Interesting, I think.

Well, my relief is with Dad now, so off to slumber in the sun hours now.

Peace & Love in Him, to all that call upon Him!

paul also recognizes those of us who esteem each day alike...

Romans 14:5-8
5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
7 For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.
8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.

The Jewish Sabbath is included in the covenant that Yhvh's people agreed
upon with God as per Deut 29:9-15; ergo: the Jewish Sabbath is a
contractual obligation. Therefore Jews have to observe the Sabbath because
failure to do so is a breach of contract punishable by banishment (Ex 31:14)
and death (Ex 31:15).

Seeing as how Christians are not contracted with God to observe the
Sabbath; then neither is God under contractual obligation to come down on
them with banishment and/or death for treating the Sabbath like they would
any other day of the week; which of course implies that for Christ's
followers; the Sabbath is entirely optional; as well as all the special sabbaths
too: e.g. Yom Kippur, the Feast of Trumpets, and the first and last days of
the Feast of Unleavened Bread.
