Perfection is ours by birth by the Spirit as children of God. In just one letter in the new testament, 1st John, we find John writing 13 times that we are born of God, or that we are the sons of God. He writes that no one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. That which is born of the Spirit does not sin, cannot sin, because it is of God, and there is no sin in God.

Now it is obvious that we still have sin. But we should remember that in Christ Jesus there is no condemnation, for what? For sin. Again, in 1st John, he writes 11 times that we live in Jesus, or that we are to live in Him. When we live in Jesus, we have His life, His sinless life, as our life. If we have been raised up in Him, then we should set our eyes on Him who is our life. When we are in Jesus Christ, it is not possible to sin. Think about that carefully. If we can sin while we think we are in Him, then we are wrong, because in Him there is no sin at all. But we are not perfect at walking in Jesus, at living in Him, and so we sin. (I am coming to believe that to walk not in Jesus is sin already.)

God lives in us. Again, in 1st John, he writes that God lives in us 8 times. God lives in us.................what power from anywhere is able to take us away from Him, if He lives in us? How can we become separated from Him, if He lives in us? Perfection has already been accomplished, for us and in us. The only thing that is needing to be accomplished is assured in His resurrection from the dead, the redemption of our bodies, wherein sin dwells. We do not see Jesus now, and so do not yet know what we shall become, (He is the pattern which we are being created after, the firstborn of the sons of God.) When we see Him, we will become just as He is, as He is now. (Then even the fullness of the pattern that God has proclaimed in the heavens as who and what His children are and will be into eternity will become apparent to all.) John tells us of this great hope in Jesus, that is in His resurrection, and then says something truly amazing, if we understand. He writes that everyone who has this hope fixed in Jesus makes himself pure, even as Jesus is pure. What more perfection could we want?
