that scripture pertains to being in a group setting where there is a dominant person speaking in togues then someone needs to interpret.. but there is also a time for praying in tongues and edifying oneself

If one chooses to do that, that is fine, but I don’t see how praying in tongues is a prerequisite for salvation.

It is important for the edifying of the spirit, biblically speaking, but not salvation

Line upon line precept upon precept

I don’t believe speaking in tongues is important for edifying the spirit.

This is what I believe:

From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Matt 4:17 RSV

Sweety that entirely up to you.. Its there in the scriptures you can do what you want with it.... Not into back and forth arguments...As for me, if it will aid in my development in Christ even slightly, I'm in...But that's just me....

In addition what you said is true, I'm not disputing it.... But all scripture was written for our learning

I think many people use “speaking in tongues” as an ego trip. They like to brag about it, when in most cases, I am guessing, they aren’t really speaking in tongues.

If we want to go to heaven, we need to repent of our sin. When we do repent, our problems disappear—that is my experience. I think repentance, therefore, is a worthwhile activity.

You're going to hell because you pass the offering plate in the wrong direction

I've found my life less chaotic through repentence. Problems not all gone but with more time I could see that happening.

In this life we will have trials, but it comes to refine us as pure gold; so my problems are now opportunities to grow and shape the character of Christ

We have less problems when we repent of our sin, I think.
