church in the wilderness
Israel in the land is never called a church. In the wilderness Israel was a true "church" (Gr. ekklēsia = called-out assembly), but in striking contrast with the N.T. ekklēsia. This was a secular use of the term that came to mean “church” (of God) in the epistles. Here a reference to an assembly is all that is intended.
Here it simply means a group of people called to a specific purpose and should not lead us to find the church in the O.T

Do you know your tenses?
Matthew 16:18 KJVS
[18] And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Jesus does not say 'I am building my Church', but rather 'I will build' ...future tense.
I don´t agree with this comment. HE is already building HIS CHURCH...now

But the Church was always Jesus' Church but he is now building it as a spiritual body only, having removed the unbelievers.
This is why, in revelation, those to whom HE opens the eyes, will see that there is no longer a
The Church is believers only under the New Covenant. This is the church Jesus is building. The church was believers and unbelievers under the Old Covenant. In building his Church, Jesus removed all the unbelievers. It's the same Church but believers only.
The CHURCH is HIS BODY....
I agree with you.

Anybody who feels the need to build a physical ẗemple/church"doesn´t fully understand the TRUTH of this.

I.C. you are going to establisoh a doctrine by one verse referring to an OT Church with a reference found in the NT. Has it ever occurred to you the word 'Church' never occurs in the OT yet it occurs 79 times in the NT, the first being in MT 16:18...

Matthew 16:18 (KJV) And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
This ¨rock¨ is always confused as to mean Peter. It doesn´t mean Peter. It´s Peter´s confession.

Further, it is JESUS who is the FOUNDATION and CAPSTONE

You should review the description of THE TEMPLE coming out of Heaven like a BRIDE adorned for HER HUSBAND...
You might want to review the 24 elders and their placement within the ẗemple
GOD accounted for both the OT and the NT heads and has included both in this TEMPLE

Again, you are completely ignoring the text. Jesus said, "I will build my Church', not 'I have been building' or 'I am building'. Plain English indicates a future project and Acts 20:28 reveals that it was Jesus blood that purchased His Church...

Acts 20:28 (KJV) Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
Yes. Which HE has purchased with HIS blood...
You can´t enter the Holy of Holies unless you have the right garment...it was always depicted in the OT...
But the TRUE GARMENT is CHRIST...covered in HIS COVERING we enter in, through faith in HIM, who is the forerunner who opened the way to HEAVEN through HIS BLOOD...but only through and by and in CHRIST JESUS...

Not everyone believes...therefore those outside the BODY will eat more than what is needed.

John 6 tells us who should feed us.
And if certain teachers aren´t being fed by HIM first and foremost...they can not and should not feed...HIS LAMBS...

HE hasn´t removed unbelievers...It´s just that by HIS COMING into the world, HE created THE DOOR by which all men must enter...many are still outside that DOOR as unbelievers...but, if they hear HIS VOICE, HE will open the DOOR for them...and they too will enter in

Is that your definition of Church? Jesus said He 'will' build His Church, and yet you say it has been going on for millennia before Jesus made that statement. Your logic is beyond me.
Has he said that? Can you show me where he said that?

It's the same church, now being built on faith alone.
Dave.

The TRUE HOUSE which GOD was speaking of to Solomon was HIS SONŚ BODY. But it could not be built until CHRIST had suffered and died for us...

Everything prior to this, was prophecy pointing to CHRIST

The church is Christ's body of believers. Those among them are not the church. They are tares.

If you are a Dispensationalist, you can not afford to agree. It blows the two people's scheme completely away.
The two peopleś scheme? Are you implying a different way for the Jews?

You didn´t which is why I was clearing it up for the majority of people who confuse this to mean that somehow Peter is the rock

There are many people who read these posts but do not comment. We should always speak conscious of everyone listening

Many Dispensationalists believe God has two peoples. The physical Jews and the Church. Also two different ways they are saved.

Called the Congregation (Church) of the Lord over 300 times in the OT.

There will always be in every denominational assembly those who do know who and what they worship.
And those who don´t
HEś not confused....HE already knows who belongs to HIM...
