Well written post with complete evidence and verses. However, It doesn't make any sense !!!!! The question is " CAN WE BE SAVED BY THE LAW ? " Let the Bible has the Final answer below !!!!
- (Ephesians 2:8-9)--"For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast."
- (Rom. 3:20, 28)--"because by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes the knowledge of sin . . . For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law."
- (Galatians 2:16)--"nevertheless knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we may be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the Law; since by the works of the Law shall no flesh be justified."
You're taking things out of context. Let me help you out.
Adding to the passage from Ephesians:
Eph 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
Eph 2:16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
Eph 2:17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
Definition Reconcile:a : to restore to friendship or harmony <reconciled the factions>
b : settle, resolve <reconcile differences>
2: to make consistent or congruous <reconcile an ideal with reality>
3: to cause to submit to or accept something unpleasant <was reconciled to hardship>
In other words, the law and Salvation come together in Messiah, they are not separated.
At the end of the passage of Romans you shared:
Rom 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
es·tab·lish verb \i-ˈsta-blish\ : to cause (someone or something) to be widely known and accepted
: to put (someone or something) in a position, role, etc., that will last for a long time
: to begin or create (something that is meant to last for a long time)
Completing the statement you shared from Galatians:
Gal 2:17 But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.
Gal 2:18 For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.
Gal 2:19 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.
Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Gal 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
Christ was not a sinner. What is sin? Disobedience. Disobedience to what? God's law. This passage does not mean the law is dead, only that Messiah is the only one who can save us. It's not an invitation to go sin.
The Bible is not a McDonald's menu. You can't pick the parts you like and disregard the rest. I pray you begin to receive the fullness of the word, so that your heart will not experience deception, and you can grow in wisdom and stature in the eyes of the King. Here's some words straight from the King's mouth: Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets! I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. For truly I say to you, until Heaven and Earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Whoever then annuls one of the least of these Commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the Kingdom of Heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven' (Matt. 5:17-19).
