question about being saved

She says jesus christ is not god, that in fact there iz no such thing as jesus christ only a man named yah. In the email she pleads for us to repent and turn away from this " jesus" because we have all been decieved by him. She says the church are pagan worshippers and yah says were whoring around. The end of the email says thatt yah has told her our grace period has now begun, accept this truth or perish.

Now would anyone like to argue they are not lost.................

It's a good thing you did explain because it makes a big difference. You are not exposing anyone when you put out that information and you never mentioned their name. Satan blinds the minds of those that believe not and it looks like, from what you have stated, that is the case. Deception is very subtil and it happens inwardly while the person can conform outwardly. That's why we always look for fruit amd magnify Christ in all things. What does your Dad believe and what kind of gospel does he preach, if you don't mind me asking?

My dad is the pastor of a church here in my city, there is a couple in his congregation who were very dedicated believers, she led bible studies, was on the worship team...you get the point, her husband was a christian but struggled heavily with an addiction.

Ok so two months ago out of the blue she emails my dad saying she has found out the real name of God and its Yah, and the trinity is man made, she has become part of some kind of hebrew movement or is it israelite movement...something like that... her husband has jumped on board as well.

I was talking to my dad about them tonight, asking if he has heard from them. Anyways we get to talking and he says, i now question if they were even saved, ive heard several other people in the church say the same thing...

So im very curious, why would you question if they were saved. Are the people that fell away from god never really saved in the first place?? This may be a dumb question but i really would like a good solid answer

The truth of the matter is that we don’t know whether they were/are saved or not. I respect your dad as a pastor for saying that he has his doubts, but not being judgmental about it. We, in this forum, don’t even know them, let alone their spiritual condition. But God knows.

They may very well be saved, but have simply become curious about this “next new thing”, as many believers do for a time. If they are truly His, He will lead them back (HE knows whether it is a false doctrine or not). I have prayed with you that if they ARE His, He will protect them and show them truth. If they are not His, I have prayed that they would be.

The thing we always need to remember is that, as much as we love others, God loves them even more and only wants His best for them. I hope this gives you peace. Those who truly seek Him, find Him, even if they make a few mistakes along the way. (Hebrews 11:6 - And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. ) I’m going through a similar situation with a young man who plays guitar for me, but I’m trusting the Lord for him.

He obviously does not believe anythinv like the above mentioned. He is a southern baptist pastor that also believes that the gifts of the holy spirit are still active today. Hei is a calvinist, believing that god chooses us because we in our fallen sinful state cannot choose him. He also doesnt believe in any kind of pre trib rapture. Hope that answers your question.

Thank you jullianna, they were both great friends of mine and i loved her..she was awesome and it breaks my heart that she will no longer talk to me and has fallen away from our savior.

You can be saved and fall away, this is called backsliding, ever heard of the parable of the prodigal son?

That's a story about someone who was saved, and God welcomes people who come back to him with open arms, in this story, he threw a huge party to welcome his son who was lost but now is found.

Luke 15:11-32 is the whole parable.

21 “The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ 22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Please do not slander the Christ with these antiques from ignorance which is very unbecoming. I guess I should expect such catty remarks from one who dont know what it means to be in Christ. Father forgive you.


God is a Spirit and that Spirit is love, your fleshy view of Him is really unappealing, and for the likes, people more and more do not want to have anything to do with Christians with attitudes like yours are a real turn off.


But I’m the bad guy right? The one who confesses that He and I are one. Your expression of Christ is some kind of hocus pocus but what you don’t see is He is Love.


A very simple concept that is perfect, you can’t change Him, you can’t govern Him by your laws for tradition or your rude comments. God is a Spirit, that Spirit is love and He makes His abode in man. Christ in me.

This is a good question, Nod. I fell away from God for many years. I went from Christian to agnostic. I was addicted to drugs and alcohol for many years. I came back to God about 6 yrs ago. So could one argue that I wasnt actualy saved until I came back to God??

Goodness, Nod! You sure have posted a very interesting question, which has gotten me thinking what does it mean to be saved? What exactly is salvation?

On the one hand, the Lord Jesus said, "You must be born again." (John 3:1-7)
On the other hand, the Lord Jesus said, "many are called, but few are chosen.” (Matt. 22:14)

So, if it's said that somebody is in medical school, what does that mean? Obviously, it does not mean the person is already a physician, yet the person anticipates completing all medical school requirements to be licensed to eventually practice medicine.

Or what does it mean that gal is 8 months pregnant? Does this mean that for the last 8 months the gal has been anticipating having a baby? Obviously, it does not mean there is "a baby" ready for diaper change.

Well, suppose 4 years into medical school, the student decides to quit (too expensive, too exhusting, too demanding, whatever the reason). What does this mean in relationship to the student's original goal of becoming a physician?

Suppose 9 months into the pregnancy, the mother decides to give up the baby for adoption (too expensive, too exhusting, too demanding, whaterver the reason). What does this mean? Is she a "bad mother?" Is she even a mother? Or does "mother" really means to raise a child?

How about the mortgage scenario. A person borrows (& works) about 30 yrs worth of their life to pay-off that mortgage. The Deed to the house is recorded in the borrower's name, not the lender's name, yet should the property fall into foreclosure, does it really, really matter who's name is on the Deed? Not really. The bank (lender) always takes repossesion of the property.

Similarly, what does it mean to be saved? When does salvation happen?
Back in 1973 when I believed Jesus is God?
Back in 1985 when I repented and pleaded for God's mercy to save my soul, believing wholeheartedly that ONLY Jesus can save my soul from the condemnation I really deserve?
Back in 1986 when I was baptized?

Are we not talking about a future event? In other words, I believe today that God can forgive all my sins, that I have repented of my evil ways, and that I want Jesus to save me from myself, but the promise and assurance is that eternal life will not happen until a future moment, right?

Whether one BELIEVES in a "trinity" has no bearing on the drawing power to save to the UTTERMOST!

Will you judge by the letter of a name as well? Now if the bible DOES NOT contain within it eternal life as it is written now, how can you then attempt to "correct" it out of ANOTHER BOOK, containing the same letters written on the same paper?

It is possible to be a christian among christians without really ever knowing God, because in so much of today's church its about looking the part, doing and saying the right things more than it is about knowing Jesus and having Him be the focus of your life. The question of motive for your actions is rarely ever asked in so many "christian" circles. Christianity has been warped by many to be a religion where the right actions mean you are saved, but real christians live by faith, their faith and love for God lead them to action.
