As I said before the temple of God mentioned in Revelation 11 is the one in heaven not the one on earth.
Rev 11 occurs within "the city where their Lord was Crucified". Was the Lord Jesus Crucified in heaven ?

Sin exists on fallen earth; Rev 11 describes the fall of Sinful "Babylon", which is not in Righteous heaven.

Jesus used the olive tree to symbolize both Jews and Gentiles. Everybody is welcome!

So, your two witnesses are the church and the Jews.
2 Witnesses = Jewish & gentile Christians

there is only one Church, with one Head (=Jesus, 1 Cor 11, Eph 4-5, Col 2). there can be different kinds of people in the Church, but they are all the same in Christ (Gal 3).

Having a correct understanding of Revelation 11:1, 2 will help us better understand the two witnesses and their work.
I guess to confirm something, you need two witnesses or more. When God had visited Abraham he brought two witnesses with Him to confirm that Sarah was going to have a child and that He's going to destroy the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. the two witnesses stand and watch the cities were destroyed and these witnesses has great power to blind the people also.

Genesis 19:1

[ Sodom and Gomorrah Destroyed ] The two angels arrived at Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gateway of the city. When he saw them, he got up to meet them and bowed down with his face to the ground.

Matthew 17:3

Just then there appeared before them Moses and Elijah, talking with Jesus.

Genesis 18

10 Then one of them said, “I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife will have a son.”
Now Sarah was listening at the entrance to the tent, which was behind him. 11 Abraham and Sarah were already very old, and Sarah was past the age of childbearing. 12 So Sarah laughed to herself as she thought, “After I am worn out and my lord is old, will I now have this pleasure?”
13 Then the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Will I really have a child, now that I am old?’ 14 Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”

Matthew 18:16
But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’

Ruth 4:11
Then the elders and all the people at the gate said, “We are witnesses. May the Lord make the woman who is coming into your home like Rachel and Leah, who together built up the family of Israel. May you have standing in Ephrathah and be famous in Bethlehem.

Deuteronomy 19:15 KJV
(15) One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.

Revelation seems to have some sort of "Alpha and-also Omega" dualism; symbols seem to be applicable to several things, at the same time.

Rev 11 may refer, both to physical Jerusalem circa 70 AD; and then also to Spiritual Jerusalem (= Church) in the End Times after the Millennium. E.g. the city is divided into three parts, can be construed, as the Church divided into Orthodox / Catholic / Protestant (although that obliviously ignores oriental Orthodox Churches).

And I, John son of Zebedee and Salome , was given a reed like a rod to measure the temple , and it was being said to me ; ''Stand up and take a survey in number and value ( sincerity ) of the people of the Holy Tabernacle of The Most High , and also those who reside around the altar and the throne of The Heavenly One who are the 24 Elders the Four Living Creatures symbolic of the Four world Empires , the Lamb of Eli Elog (Eli ) , the Messiah Yashu'a and the Eloheem Malachi Zodoq , and the ones who worship inside of it who are the 144,000 faithful .

The Book of Revelation 11 ; 1 , Says ; And I , Yowkhanan Bar Zebedee , Was Given A Reed Like A Rod And It Was Being Said To Me ; Stand Up And Take A Survey Of The Holy Haykal Of Yahweh Of The Eloheem And Also The Altar , And The Ones Who Worship Inside Of It . < King James Version ( Hebrew -Greek ) Keyword Study Bible >

So , as for the groups of people which are outside of the Holy Tabernacle , or those people who cliam to be a part but wont come in the Tabernacle because they have learned the truth but the discipline is too much for them to live by , so discard them which are outside and don't do a survey on them ; or don't count them because they do not worship the Most High , nor hold firmly together as one unit and can't give up the intoxicants . So indeed they have given themselves to the gentile nation ; those who don't read nor live by all the ( Scriptures ) . The Holy City , they will fold it ,

meaning they will absorb the truth but will refuse to submit to the facts and instead , will step on it to keep the truth from spreading that the Holy Tabernacle has the truth for 42 months which is equivalent to 3 1/2 years symbolic of the time when people won't find it necessary to live in the Holy Tabernacle of the Most High , Because they will be too busy following after and living the lifestyle of the Malevolent Beings . All of those who stay outside of the Tabernacle and aren't counted will suffer all the plagues that occur worldwide , while those who stay inside will be spared .

Verse 2 , Says ; So , As The Groups Of People Which Is Outside Of The Haykal ( Temple ) Discard Them Which Is Outside And Don't Do A Survey On It .So Indeed They Have Given Themselves To The Gentile Nation And The Holy City They Will Fold It For 3 1/2 Years .
