Paul at the end of his life called himself one of the greatest of sinners. Not past, but then. What rest is there besides in Jesus? None.

Of those who were before, that Moses lead out of the land of Egypt, the Holy Spirit says;

Today, if you hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts as
when they provoked me,
as in the day of trial in the wilderness,
where your fathers tried Me by testing Me,
and saw My works for forty years.

Therefore I was angry with this generation,
and said, "They always go astray in their heart;
and they did not know My ways";
as I swore in My wrath,
"They shall not enter My rest."

The rest of God is not a day, such as we count days. God has finished His work, it is finished, complete, done. We enter His rest by being in Jesus, who finished His work, and said, it is finished.

The Law holds appeal to the natural man, even though it shows his death due to sin. The sabbath which is of the Law is a type of the true Sabbath which is in Jesus Christ. The only admonishment I find in Hebrews is to be sure not to fail to enter the rest of God, because of a hardened heart.

The only good deeds are those which God has accomplished, as it is written, that He completed them even before the foundations of the world were laid, that we should walk in them. Anyone who thinks that any deed of theirs could possibly be good has not seen God at any time, and does not know Him.
Paul wrote that the whole Law was summed up in one saying, that we love our neighbor as ourselves. But the commandment of Jesus is much higher than this saying, in that we are to love each other even as He has loved us. In this, the Law is not fulfilled, but completely surpassed, made obsolete, to be replaced by that which is able to perfect the worshiper, which the Law could never do.

You still didn't answer the question in Hebrews about how Jesus did not give us rest. But let me put what I am trying to say plainly. You are a christian I believe. How do you feel about a muslim or a Jew who doesn't call on the name of Jesus?

2 timothy 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. i would say since i believe that verse and that the OT is scripture that would be why

Jesus is the Way, and the Truth, and the Life; no person can come to the Father but through Him.

How can we enter God's rest in any other way than Jesus Christ? You say that Jesus did not give us rest?

He said "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavily laden, and I will give you rest." The Jews wanted to stone Him for this saying also.

Colossians 2:
16. So don't let anyone condemn you for what you eat or drink, or for not celebrating certain holy days or new-moon ceremonies or Sabbaths.
17. For these rules were only shadows of the real thing, Christ himself.

Why do we argue the Sabbath still?

That is true,in the New Testament it is a spiritual sabbath and a spiritual rest,therefore let no man judge you of the sabbath days,which means they cannot tell you to keep the physical sabbath,which was only given to the Jews to celebrate this earth,and the spiritual sabbath is given to the people who follow Jesus,and celebrate the world that He went to make,the New Jerusalem.

10For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

11For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. 12To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear(Isaiah 28:10-12).

When the people who follow Jesus,receive the Holy Spirit,they are in a spiritual rest,a spiritual sabbath,for this is the rest wherewith you may cause the weary to rest,and this is the refreshing.

Yet some people would not hear,teaching to observe the physical sabbath,which the Bible says let no man tell you to keep the physical sabbath.

You obey the commandment to keep the sabbath,when you receive the Spirit.

Again, Jesus gave us rest onto our souls. It is another rest spoken of by the author of Hebrews speaks of ANOTHER DAY for the wise! He clearly states that Jesus did NOT give us this type of rest.

I agree. I've stated before that in numerous posts of mine. Jesus taught you how to obey the weekly sabbath. most still don't understand

because for christians the sabbath is no longer a day it is Jesus Christ who is the sabbath
Again can't argue with Hebrews 4. The weekly Sabbath is from Jesus Father. What works are we to rest from?

The Sabbath was a shadow of Jesus....did you even read the verses in Colossians? You can't argue with Colossians, Israel, Jesus is our rest. You should try reading the Hebrews 4 text in other translations and also in a Greek concordance. The text is referring to Joshua, not Jesus....it just so happens that they had the exact same Hebrew name, Yeshua, and in the King James it says Jesus, but scholars and theologians have read it as Joshua, as in the successor to Moses. Jesus is our rest. Jesus is our Law, fulfilled. Jesus is the answer to all the silliness and arguments on this website. It's all about Jesus, dude, and you aren't allowed to tell other people that they need to conform to some sabbatical law, because all they really need is Jesus, and to be obedient to Him.

Exactly, if they had entered His rest when they entered the promised land, then there would not have been need to speak of another sabbath. I looked and looked to see where it is written in Hebrews that Jesus did not give us rest, and I could not find it. Hah, it is not there!

Sabbath is resting from all of our works. Not doing anything. The sabbath of the Law was a shadow, a type of the rest that is in Jesus for us. We cease from all of our works, to have only those works which have been wrought in God. (John 3:21) Jesus healed a man on the sabbath which was of the Law, yet fulfilled the sabbath rest of God, because His works were such that they were the works of God. (He did what He saw His Father in heaven doing.)

God prepared works for us, works which have been prepared for us from before the foundations of the world, that we should walk in them. Sabbath. Not our works, we have ceased from our works to walk in works which God has set aside for us to have as our own.

Hebrews 4 speaks of a DAY, not a man. Jesus did not become a day! On day six God made man in His image. Then on day seven, God ceased from His works. Now ask yourself this. If we are made in God's image, then what image is everything else made out of?

I am afraid for you. I truly am. You talk about a day, then it is not a day, and again it is a day.

There is a simplicity to faith in Jesus, a way of understanding which is not of this world, which is not of man, which is received directly from God; and this simplicity says clearly that we are alive in God with Jesus, who is the author and the finisher of our faith. No strife, no struggle, no rules; just simply believing in Jesus whom God has sent, and loving each other even as He has loved us. And this by the working of the Holy Spirit, not by anything we do. Because if we even touch it, if we have any part other than being a vessel for God's life and love, then it is tainted, and worthless, and ready to be thrown away and burned.

Here is the truth, you can take it or leave it.

All of God is summed up in Jesus Christ. In Him all of the Godhood dwells bodily. In Him we have our redemption, not in doing this or keeping that, but in living in Him, which is rest, the rest, the only rest which God has approved, which He will accept, as He has discounted all other ways to Him.

Proverbs 23:

Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats:

7For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee. 8The morsel which thou hast eaten shalt thou vomit up, and lose thy sweet words.

Jeremiah 18

Now therefore go to, speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I frame evil against you, and devise a device against you: return ye now every one from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good.
12And they said, There is no hope: but we will walk after our own devices, and we will every one do the imagination of his evil heart.

What type of work did man do with his imagination?

Psalm 115:1-8

Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake.

2Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God?
3But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.
4Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.
5They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:
6They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:
7They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat. 8They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them.

Romans 1:18-23

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

19Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

2 Corinthians 10:4-5

(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
5Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Everything other than man came out of the imagination of God. It is the same with man! Our imagination though, is vanity. We make an image and call it God (knowingly or unknowingly). Look at the system we made for ourselves. Poverty, famine, and why? Because we let the system WE MADE become our God! Christianity, we made. Budism, we made. Judism, we made. Islam, we made! Who has the authority? The system or US!? We are the image of God and NOT THE SYSTEM!

Look at Romans 1:20 and meditate on this verse. Pray that the Spirit will guide you to understand it. Ask yourself How are the invisible things of Him clearly seen, being UNDERSTOOD by the things that are made? Then go to Genesis 1. Now what are the invisible things?

I am afraid for you. I truly am. You talk about a day, then it is not a day, and again it is a day.

James 2:8

If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:

9But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
10For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
11For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
12So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.
13For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.
14What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
15If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
16And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
17Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
18Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
19Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

Do you call yourself a saint? And if so how do you know?

Revelation 14:12

Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

What commandments of God are we to keep here?

In this you err, because I don't demonstrate my love for anyone. My love is as filthy rags, and I do not consider it to be true love at all.

Love from God through us is an active and living force, which reacts to each person and each situation in the way that God directs, through His Holy Spirit.

Your question is not only meaningless, but shows your lack of understanding of God's love.
