Right. . .so if works of the law are not with our faith in being saved, then why is our faith not alone?
What else of ours is with faith that faith is not alone?
if your faith is alone you saved saved by wishful thinking...
did I not say obedience...
what is the message you heard....???
what shall we do ....
repent and be baptized for the remission of sins and
you shall receive the gift if the Holy Ghost...that is the entrance into the kingdom ...born of water and of the Spirit...
that is the promise.....if you can show me another promise in the NT for salvation and the HS...please do...
Well, actually, faith is not even mentioned here.
"They were cut to the heart" reflects both
belief and
repentance had occurred,
which are both
gifts ( Php 1:29; 2Pe 1:1; Ac 18:27; Ro 12:3; / 2Ti 2:25; Ac 11:18, 5:31), as is
the
Holy Spirit, and
none are one's own works of obedience.
The answer is about what to do a
fter belief--repent, which they had already done,
be baptized, and receive the Holy Spirit.
Ac 16:30 answers the question, "What must I do to be
saved?"
The answer is simply, "
Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ."
Keeping in mind that
faith (Php 1:29; 2Pe 1:1; Ac 18:27; Ro 12:13),
repentance (2Ti 2:25; Ac 11:18, 5:31),
justification/righteousness (Ro 5:17), and
the Holy Spirit (Ac 2:38)
are all gifts of God, and
not because of our own obedience.
The gift of faith saves alone.
The obedience of faith sanctifies after salvation; i.e., the forgiveness of sin (Lk 1:77).
