You have been a member 1 1/2 years and your first 10 posts are on this thread that you created. Why is this so topic so important to you? Jesus was sarcastic on more than one occasion. I don't believe that sarcasm is rooted in love but rather it is rooted in the truth of the matter whatever that may be.

Is sarcasm a worthy Christian attribute? No. So why is there so much of it when someone has a different opinion? Some people need to realize that your attitudes written here are recorded eternally, and they reveal the true heart behind your statements, and that does NOT bode well for you on judgment day. The sarcastic are prideful, thinking they know much, and should humble themselves....REPENT of sarcasm. Its ungodly.
As for those agitators, I wish they would go the whole way and emasculate themselves!

Galatians 5:12

That Paul sure could be sarcastic at times! oh dear......

Wow! Young man, how much sense does it make to post that sarcasm isn't a "worthy attribute" and judge others about it when right before you made this post you commented in the "Be Holy" thread:

If that ain't sarcastic, what is? Don't bother justifying it. I'm outta this thread now.
:p *good grief*

She beat you to it becuause you decided to comment before fully reading the post and catching my whole drift :)
She beat me to it because she read your OP before I did. Duh!

I needed only to read your hypocritical OP and I jumped on it without reading any responses. Had I read Violet's response before posting one myself, I would have quoted her post not yours.

It just goes to show you that our same response validates the fact that you're a sarcastic hypocrite, and a Pharisaic one at that. Just admit you're self righteous; you'll show some integrity and earn respect.

Sarcasm: the use of words that mean the opposite of what you really want to say especially in order to insult someone, to show irritation, or to be funny.

There are multiple kinds of sarcasm, so for clarity, i am speaking of the mal-intended version meant to belittle and insult a person.

Doesn't the bible say that our speech should be with a certain level of holiness and love?
ah yes....life is like a box of sarcasim

Tell it to Paul (Gal 5:12).

But MY sarcasm isnt hurtful- sometimes i see some sarcasm here that is directly intended to maim if not shame a person into remission- its really gross at times....Like i stated- there are differing types of sarcasm and the type i am pointing at is the intentionally hurtful kind?

Of course your sarcasm isn't hurtful but the result of righteous indignation

Not like mine

Lol

For a long time i have watched, and many here openly jest and use scalding "sarcasm" against younger "less learned" christians, all for coming here and simply making a statement such as, "am i supposed to quit sinning once i believe, because i think i am?", And your overwhelming response is, "quit judging people and being self-righteous, quit being legalistic, who do you think you are?, cant you see how big of a joke you are, etc.
It is sickening to see how you tread upon those Holy Spirit filled young men and women who desire holiness, and who have the audacity to believe scripture when it says there is NO temptation you cannot overcome. These children, these "little ones" who trust Christ, and the Holy Spirit, to help them sin less each day, come here for nurture and seeking support, and they DO NOT GET IT. What do they get? RIDICULE. SLANDER. BLASPHEMY OF HOLY DESIRES. In the name of what? Chatroom popularity? Your little "clique" is pathetic and vile. You WILL someday be called into account for the way you have treated the children of God. I assure you.

Your desire is not to teach nor encourage, nor to discuss, but to defend your sins with hate speech and violence, to spew venom as vipers and to turn and rend those who truly love Jesus and who do have the Spirit of God. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.

And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.

Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you,and thereby many be defiled;

Please forgive each other, if this applies to you. And ask God to forgive you. Start leading those deeper into righteousness, who come here, and not pointing them to acceptability of continuing in sin, as this is not what scripture teaches us to do.

Set a Godly example, i beg you. May the peace of our Lord Jesus be upon these who love holiness and His glorious appearing, which soon comes. Amen.

Know what's worse, theservant? Self righteousness
Hey now? That's kind of like saying "Know what's worse than chocolate?" It's easier to list what's better than chocolate. Shorter list. Same deal with sarcasm. It's not worse, it's good. lol

(And no sarcasm in the making of this post. lol)

I think you have Jesus rebuking the Pharisees confused with sarcasm as so many do on here.

When Jesus called the Pharisees hypocrites and vipers He was not being sarcastic, but instead exposing the true nature of their heart. People love to use Jesus when He rebuked others to badly misuse and allow how they wrongfully treat others.
Actually, I was thinking of Jesus tell Peter he's the rock. Although, "whitewashed sepulchre." BURN!

Actually, i think my original post is quite clear on the type of sarcasm i am referring to. The problem also seems to be that many of us cannot see the lines we so often do not need to cross, and if those who so quickly jumped in defense were to actually read the context of my post, instead of overreacting, they would not have replied so hastily. I think the original replies to my post more than adequately reflect what poor attitude i am talking about?
I'm sorry. I read the words you wrote, not the words you meant to write.

No, but they were using it in a loving manner, not in a manner based only in hope of afflicting and embarrasing someone...the difference is that many people here use it to try and shame or actually hurt the people, or just to be plain mean and condescending. I have seen instances where it was used in a loving way on this site, rare, but i have seen it. Sadly, it is often used to try to cause one to quit posting opposing views when its obvious we are all trying to learn...and that is the hurtful speech im posting about.
Oh, really? You've been here for 13 posts and you've already established that? I think you just love to complain.
