No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. 1 Cor 10:13 :)

I understand; but I am fairly confident that religious authorities who held all of the power thousands of years ago is not a real good source of info on Jesus either; it is their perversion of Jesus as God which allowed them to craft their empire.

Please understand that the Bible is THE authority on the person, nature and purpose of Jesus. So-called religious authorities would not allow themselves to be portrayed in such a negative light as the Bible portrays... this holds for those opposed to Jesus and to those who followed Him.

Going back to your original post, may I suggest that you have your whole thesis backwards? You began by stating that Christianity is like some yogic beliefs. Since Christianity is the truth from God (support for which is a long and involved study not suitable for this thread), it would make logical sense that Hindu beliefs would borrow from Judeo-Christian truth, rather than the other way around.
