Psalm 90:3 Thou turnest man to destruction;
and sayest, Return, ye children of men.

Prov 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction,
and an haughty spirit before a fall.

Prov 18:12 Before destruction the heart of man is haughty,
and before honour is humility.

Prov 22:4 By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honour, and life.

Prov 8:13
The fear of the LORD is to hate evil:
pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

The day of the LORD is shown to be upon the proud in heart

Its good to humble yourself, God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble

Its unhealthy to have a person consume you so much, you should take this issue in prayer before the LORD.

But again, its good to be able to show how one can agree with anothers post, for example post #180 and post scripture to agree in the same in #181 but agreeing in the same was not the intent, yet it is most likely counted as humility on the others part.

Sometimes I prefer the exageration effect

Heb 12:9 Furthermore
we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and LIVEEEEEEEEE?

Prov 23:13 Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall NOT DIEEEEEEEEE.

1Cr 11:32 But when we **are judged**,we **are chastened of** the Lord, that we should not be ***CONDEMNEDDDDDDDD with the world***

I'm so sorry you weren't taught about literary devices in English. Because adding a bunch of letters to a word is not hyperbole nor any other figure of speech.

Hyperbole uses a word, or more likely a phrase, clause or sentence to create an exaggeration which points out something about the original phrase to show either their own response or to highlight it for others.

Other figures of speech have include similes, metaphors, irony and so forth. Jesus used parables, which are a longer version and story form of a metaphor.

Sorry you did not learn this when you went to school.

Never an insult! Just done honest correction concerning the misuse of a literary device. That and realizing that someone who writes reasonably well has not studied the basics of literature.

Health is still a struggle. Some progress with a smaller number and amount of flares, but now tendinitis. Mechanically, I have a dislocated right knee, and a subluxed SIJ. Not fun! Thank you for asking!

Here is a visual about forgiveness before the cross and after the cross for those that like them... Jesus finished work on the cross changed everything for us . We have a great complete salvation in Him.

Isn't lifting up Jesus and the gospel much better then beating the sheep up with death, dying, accursed, evil, destruction,..etc?

After the cross it's conditional too. Paul says clearly that who do some thing don't inherit the Kingdom.
Yes grace is better and preferably everyone is awake, praying for souls, because His Love draws you. If not though and you get too much asleep there are serious warnings and the fear of the Lord.

Awesome and multi-rep-worthy post, ladylynn!!!
You outdid yourself again. PRAISE THE LORD!!!

And Amen and Amen and Amen! God bless YOU, GraceRev! \:D/

Wow you are an awesome encouraging brother B1Davanda!! Thank you for your kind words!!
:) Lots of ((((((hugs))))))) sent your way!!

I read what the OP and pilgrim is saying about this thread being a "warning" and I am thinking something SO different than you are about how God relates to us His sons. It is majorly important for the believer to have faith in the finished work of Jesus on their behalf. God wants us to KNOW we have eternal life and to be secure IN HIS love for us. Not in our works for Him.

Herein is love, not that we love God but that He loves us. It's not about what we do it's what He does and did. I believe it is poison to the heart of a believer when someone attempts to thwart that message of truth. Our confidence needs to be solid in Christ. Not thrown into doubt. I refuse to take the message that is posted here about instilling fear on the believer. God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power and LOVE and a sound mind. (The Holy Spirit instills confidence in us about our standing).

He ministers to us about our righteous standing. That is His ministry too us as well. It is not sugary sweet like the fake imitation sweetness that blinds that you guys were saying here. It is like the Bible calls it, it is sweet like a honey comb. Reviving the soul. When people come along and thwart that message it causes me to post again and again.

All warnings are good and wholesome and right when we read them in the Bible. We are not to fear but to listen and walk in confidence not fear we may fail. That is counter productive to the Holy Spirit's working in us. We are admonished to walk in confidence and by faith IN Christ working in and through us. Not to rely on the arm of the flesh.

I read carefully the posts of the believers who disagree about the kind of relationship we are to have with our Father. It's a Love relationship a believer is supposed to have with God IN Christ. It should be one of confidence and a sure foundation. One that causes joy and peace. What kind of love relationship can we have with anyone if we are doubting them every day?

We have the kind of relationship that is sort of like a good marriage. We are not forced to kiss our spouse and spend time with them - It's not a hardship! we WANT to do that. If we don't, something is wrong. Isn't joy and peace something that you seek after with God? As posthuman said., the JOY of the Lord is our strength. And in all the Bible, truth it is never to cause anything but a confidence in Christ and a joy that will get us through in strength.

Any person, teacher or preacher or even another brother or sister who seeks to cast doubt about Jesus love and provision for us must not be listened to. And imo should be reminded of the truth of Christ again and again. The Gospel is ALWAYS good news every part of it FOR THE Christian is good news.

Instruction is always good not bad or negative as the OP is saying. All of the truths and promises in the Bible are YES AND AMEN for the believer. It is always under the shadow of His wings. We are never outside of that provision. If you don't know that you need to know it. It's true for all believers. We are told to KNOW the love of God. It is supposed to be our daily goal.
2 Cor.8:9
[SUP]9 [/SUP]For you are becoming progressively acquainted with and recognizing more strongly and clearly the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ (His kindness, His gracious generosity, His undeserved favor and spiritual blessing), [in] that though He was [so very] rich, yet for your sakes He became [so very] poor, in order that by His poverty you might become enriched (abundantly supplied).
To know the love of God that passes all understanding and upholds us in times of trouble regardless of our feelings our situation.

I know you guys think God's love and care for us is conditional but it can't be otherwise Jesus didn't have to come and set us right. We could have done that ourselves by our behavior and our works. Our relationship to God is not on anything so flimsy as our own power.

When you read passages like the ones you posted with the dire warnings., they have to be read in light of the finished work of Christ. Like Grace777 keeps posting, we have to see everything in the Bible through the CROSS of Christ. Any other way is a wrong way. That is why we are called to rightly divide the Word of truth every time. The Holy Spirit can fix any wrong interpretation. Amen.

As for the multiple "die" I assumed it was a literary device know as "hyperbole" or "exaggeration for the sake of effect."

She seemed to be appalled at first, as to what the words that were highlighted triggered in her.

Then she remembered the truth of the gospel, and was grateful for LIFE that we have in Christ Jesus.

As for those who think they are God's prophets, called to tell Christians to repent, would it not be better to preach the need for repentance and salvation to non-Christians, so that they might hear the word of God and be saved?

Perhaps an atheist, or Muslim forum might be a better possibility? I am quite sure you would find lots of "doctrines of demons" in those places, that really could not be argued against.

Just a thought!

Hi Angela!!! Didn't see your post until after posting mine this morning. You read me right. The posts were soooo depressing. That song came to mind from John., Behold what manner of love the Father has given unto us.... And it reminded again of the truth that He has saved us and He will keep us. Because He loves us. Amen!

I have heard that theory before that forgiveness is conditional but there is no scripture for that. Altho, when you do think about it..it is conditional in the sense that we do have to believe and receive the forgiveness that is already there. It's like I gave you a $1,000,000 and put it in your bank account - you still have to believe it and then go receive it.

Here is a post that talks about Galatians 5 and for that matter 1 Cor 6 too and inheriting the kingdom

Well done ( it says I have to spread more reputation around )

This is the essence of the whole gospel message. God's great love for us and it is His doing that we are in Christ now.

We are to keep our eyes on Christ and Him alone.

When the Israelites were bitten by the poisonous snakes in the wilderness - God didn't say "Look at the snakes - keep your eyes on them - try to figure out what kind of snake it is" NO - God said to make a bronze serpent on a pole and when people looked to that , they were healed. This is a picture of us looking at Jesus who was lifted up for us on the Cross.

John 3:14-15 (NASB)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] "As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up;

[SUP]15 [/SUP] so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life.

Let's keep our eyes on Jesus and what He has already done for us in His finished work. When the snakes of life come at us - let's fix our eyes on Jesus and His life.

It's fact, not theory, and there is clear scripture. But you have to believe what is written and not try to conform scripture to your dogma.

For if you forgive people their sins, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive people, neither will your Father forgive your sins. Matthew 6:14-15

2 Thessalonians 2:12 is interesting. The expression have pleasure means think well of.

Have Pleasure

G2106 εὐδοκέω eudokeo (yoo-dok-eh'-o) v.
1. to think well of, i.e. approve (an act)

Like... Like... Like...
When I encounter liberals, especially the Obama worshippers, that dimension seems to be their cornerstone, because they are,by supporting liberal leaders,PROMOTING WITH ZEAL,DEBAUCHERY.

The heretic hunters are in the wrong battle. A mirror would go a long way with these religious policemen.

CONTEXT, CONTEXT, CONTEXT!!!! Daffy duck and Donald duck are not even in the book of Revelation!!!! If we add to and take away from the "context" in the book of Revelation, we can get the "con" from people like you. :)
This post made me laugh. Are you sure Daffy Duck and Donald Duck are not in the book of Revelation?......

It is there for those "that have ears that can hear" as was quoted earlier concerning a son can be dis-inherited in which they were trying to say that once we are children of God - He will dis-inherit us as His children ( altho Jesus said the complete opposite )

Daffy and Donald are "birds". and it turns out they are in the book of Revelation after all......see.... one can find a scripture to say anything we want...:D

Revelation 19:17 (NASB)
[SUP]17 [/SUP]
Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he cried out with a loud voice, saying to all the birds which fly in midheaven, "Come, assemble for the great supper of God,
