Yes you can Paul uses those very verses in his discourse in Romans 10:1-21.

And I dont use spell check so you will find spelling errors, have fun with that LOL!
Not exactly...if you read it closely - you will see Paul changed Deut 30.

Paul in Romans changed the Old Covenant wording in Deut. 30:14 - he exchanged the "in thine hands to do it" which is pure 100% law.

Paul in Romans 10 changed the wording to " the word of faith" which is speaking out what you believe in order to receive. This is all done by grace through faith alone in Christ's finished work.

Therein is the difference between the Old and New Covenant :

In the Old - you "did in order to get" In the New Covenant " you believe in order to receive" what Christ has already done. It's called the "word of faith" and it's enacted by speaking.

This is where works-based salvationists have a hard time with the gospel of the grace of Christ alone for salvation. They are mixing the covenants up and trying to do things in order to get and maintain salvation.

The pure gospel of the grace of Christ is offensive to this mindset and thus they need to do things in order to establish and maintain their own righteousness for salvation just like it was commanded in the Old Covenant.

Romans 10:5-10 (NASB)

[SUP]8 [/SUP] But what does it say? "THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART"—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching,

[SUP]9 [/SUP] that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;

[SUP]10 [/SUP] for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

says who? the catholic church? and lol gnostic hahaha you need to read it, Gnosticism is totally opposed to the doctrines in the book of Enoch. it does However read perfectly along with the prophets of old testament, and the prophetic writings of the new. Perfectly in line with Gods Word. many people tend to reject things they do not first look at. there is absolutely no gnostic doctrine in Enoch. but rathere than argue, ill continue testing things against Gods Word rather than label this or that. understanding that jude "quoted" writings directly from enochs book, and others such as Paul made direct reference to it also. psalms wasn't introduced until the scrolls were found. anyone who takes time to read it, will see the discernment of the spirit working, if they are able to not pre label things such as you have here. good day.
in line with God word doesn't make it the Word of God. I have many book' s that are line with scripture. as you have stated you will continue to test against Gods word , and when you read the Book of Enoch do you balance if off of the Canonized Bible or do you included it as the same ? the reason why it is gnostic because it was considered mystical. and the person who wrote the book of Enoch has not been confirmed it was even enoch of genesis but it is believed to have been written close to the time of the Birth of christ. What we don't know is when The Book of Enoch was written, who the author was?

I think Paul's words are very pertinent here:
As I urged you upon my departure for Macedonia, remain on at Ephesus so that you may instruct certain men not to teach strange doctrines, nor to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies, which give rise to mere speculation rather than furthering the administration of God which is by faith. But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. For some men, straying from these things, have turned aside to fruitless discussion, wanting to be teachers of the Law, even though they do not understand either what they are saying or the matters about which they make confident assertions.

I stand by my statement . and the reason why it is called gnostic is because like the book s gospel of thomas , and other like it they use the name of those who were disciples or Apostles but they are not written by them. this is why Enoch is known as "a pseudoepigraphal work (a work that claims to be by a biblical character). The Book of Enoch was not included in either the Hebrew or most Christian biblical canons, but could have been considered a sacred text by the sectarians. The original Aramaic version was lost until the Dead Sea fragments were discovered.

So yes it is gnostic / mystical and the writer is not the Enoch of the bible just like other writing of those pseudogospels

you have a good day :)

I see what you mean here as there is a vast difference in what is being said about angela53510. I would say that angel53510 is born of God and displays the fruit of that union with Christ despite what these posters have said about her....

He is making the destinction that she is born of the world and he is born from heaven - so, how dare she talk to him about reading scriptures in context....

This just gets weirder by the post....

Quote from post above:

Everyone should choose to read or not read it. I have found it to be very enlightening and so many similarities and also the direct Quote from Jude, saying that enoch Prophesied. Jude 1:14-15 "in the seventh generation from adam Enoch also prophesied these things, saying behold, the Lord came with His Holy myriads, to execute judgement on all, and to conbvict the ungodly of all their ungodly deeds, which they have commited in such ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ingodly sinners spoke against Him." this is word for word in enoch 1:9, 2:1)

Enoch has been dated several ways to at least 250 bc. well before Jude was written. And to me, its kind of obvious that Jude, as well as paul were very familiar with the text. Jude even naming Him a prophet, and quoting His book in the scripture. many references I have found in perfect words With Jesus, to me again, showing that Jesus also was very familiar with the text. The Labels the world uses restrict wisdom in my view.

Also, Enoch Never died, He simply walked away with God, which says something to me also. 4 copies of the manuscript were found in the caves, along with coins dated bc as well. All scripture is God breathed and useful, to me this doesn't necessarily mean only canonized scripture, especially because Jude an apostle, quoted directly from it and Jesus words resemble so closely enochs parables and wisdom. Also, enochs account of befor the flood, through the flood and the most accurate prophecy of what Jesus (the Son of man) was coming to do for us. more accurate than any old testament prophecy, besides Isaiah 53. Also, all the prophecies tie directly into enochs writings. How God would judge the wicked, and then later lead sinners into righteousness by His own means of coming in the flesh.
To assume these aren't Inspired By God, is, to me, hard to believe. Especially the glory given to God throughout the books. Much I do not understand, mainly the Sun, moon, and stars the firmaments writings. but the other books are to me, a blessing. Though I would never replace The Bible with Enoch, Buit the thing is, it fits like a puzzle piece, filling in and connecting things that are mysterious.
The hyper grace or whatever people call it, would not at all accept it as inspired because it is in line with Grace for obedience through Faith, and could never be said enoch was fortelling a lawless doctrine, but rather the same as the new testament, Gods grace, meant to make sinners righteous in deed and not only thought, always to keep the commands of God and keep His laws in their minds and hearts, diligently keeping them, by the Grace given.
just my view though. many people reject things before ever even looking into what is there because it is labeled by who knows as gnostic, or un inspired. I also find the apocalypse of paul interesting, as well as the infancy gospel of James, though Enoch is far more useful and accurate. I only mentioned it because it falls in line with the original post, the original post could be taken from the book of enoch directly as it warns of false doctrines and tells how the fallen angels began corrupting mans minds, though, a few words would be different given the times and language evolution

Why didn't the church fathers include it in the cannon as they were directed by the Holy Spirit?
There were no "cannon", it was only the holy scriptures, history and writings of holy men on scrolls which were the history of the children of Israel. Rome burned a lot of these books when the religion of Christianity came on the scene in 325 AD. Actually the book of Enoch is quoted by the early church fathers a lot among other books. The Ethiopian bible still contains the book of Enoch and jubilees to this very day.

I only thought it was accepted by one church, but Wiki (which isnt the greatest source) states It is regarded as canonical by the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church and Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Church, but not by any other Christian group.

I have read it many times to see for myself

And I have not read any books outside of scripture save browsing though a recipe or the forums for the last 20 years and basically because of a confusing experience earlier on which taught me to be careful there (to get the Lords word into me and no one elses). And thats what I did, but after many years of reading nothing else I made a choice to read it and to do so and give it a shot a few more times because the first time I thought wow some of this is really weird. And I could not get past quite a few things in it but the things that got me interested was where it speaks of the Son of man who was hidden from the beginning even as Paul speaks of Christ hid in God and the fellowship of the mystery but that it also speaks of eternal life in it. I hadnt seen the words in the OT but brought in through the NT so that made me curious. That among a few others, and it got me curious to see how much I can confirm in the scriptures.

So I picked it up giving it a try and then after a couple of years I would again, but I cant really get past certain things.

have you ever read the books of enoch? or have you just read what is said about it by the conrending factions pretending authority? look.

I'm saying, read the book lol there is no argument it was written before the birth of Christ. scientifically or historically. forget what religion has labeled things, religion is corrupt badly. heres my point to anyone who actually has an open mind to Gods spirit. the first book of enoch chapter 48

" 1. In that place I beheld a fountain of righteousness, which never failed, encircled by many springs of wisdom. Of these all the thirsty drank, and were filled with wisdom, having their habitation with the righteous, the elect, and the holy.
2. In that hour was this Son of man invoked before the Lord of spirits, and his name in the presence of the Ancient of days.
3. Before the sun and the signs were created, before the stars of heaven were formed, his name was invoked in the presence of the Lord of spirits. A support shall he be for the righteous and the holy to lean upon, without falling; and he shall be the light of nations.
4. He shall be the hope of those whose hearts are troubled. All, who dwell on earth, shall fall down and worship before him; shall bless and glorify him, and sing praises to the name of the Lord of spirits.
5. Therefore the Elect and the Concealed One existed in his presence, before the world was created, and for ever.
6. In his presence he existed, and has revealed to the saints and to the righteous the wisdom of the Lord of spirits; for he has preserved the lot of the righteous, because they have hated and rejected this world of iniquity, and have detested all its works and ways, in the name of the Lord of spirits.
7. For in his name shall they be preserved; and his will shall be their life. In those days shall the kings of the earth and the mighty men, who have gained the world by their achievements, 1 become humble in countenance.
8. For in the day of their anxiety and trouble their souls shall not be saved; and they shall be in subjection to those whom I have chosen.
9. I will cast them like hay into the fire, and like lead into the water. Thus shall they burn in the presence of the righteous, and sink in the presence of the holy; nor shall a tenth part of them be found.
10. But in the day of their trouble, the world shall obtain tranquillity.
11. In his presence shall they fall, and not be raised up again; nor shall there be any one to take them out of his hands, and to lift them up: for they have denied the Lord of spirits, and his Messiah. The name of the Lord of spirits shall be blessed.

AT LEAST, 250 years before Christs birth. compare this with what the bible says about Jesus. I'm becoming more and more conviced daily that there are no errors whatsoever in the books of Enoch. I know the Bible well. front to Back, trust Gods spirit for discernment. tell me the above scriptures from enoch, along with pauls references continually in thessolonicans, peters references to the text of the books, judes statement that ENOCH PROPHESIED these things. and then quoted the text itself. it is inspired for certain. and supports the truth of The Bible in every way. How bout considering the angel who arrives late in revelation holding the little scroll? how about the man of lawlwessness, the great falling away ect that paul always references? beyond any logical doubt the new testament writers all had good understanding of Enochs writings, anyone who would study them a little can see it.

paul, peter, jude, james also. every one of them, and most importantly this thought : Jesus teachings about the poor, about keeping the commandments and remaining in Gods Love so many things he says are written in enochs books long before Jesus was born. following what the internet says of things isn't always the best way of learning things, or trusting the catholic churches authority of what belongs or doesn't belong in the bible. and think why was it lost? yeah oh that's right, Jerusalem was destroyed in 70 ad. so yeah probably read Ezekiel about the zadokite priests preserving things because they were the only ones allowed in Gods presence by then, being from what line? also think it through Enoch was noahs grandfather, so I wonder if noah would have preserved His granpas writings? Bieng the one who didn't Die? wich is also accounted in the books of enoch. and honestly, you have no possible way of the statement that Enoch wasn't the author. Not even possible to claim that as truth.

I didn't mean this to be a big issue, common sense to me is to first read text thoroughly and then decide whether its valuable or worthy of rejection. if someone Knows scripture from the Bible well at all, they will find vast amounts of good and perfect knowledge in enoch. the chapter 48 writing is only a sample that is perfectly in Line with Jesus, with all the prophets and apostolic writings in the new testament. label it gnostic...yeah okay its from the 2nd temple period. but understand these texts all of them were passed on and copied through time. the oldest copy known of enoch was one of four found in the caves along the dead sea. the same caves psalms was located in. but realize hahaha the destruction of Jerusalem happened 70 ad, and if jude quotes the text directly and says enoch prophesied....that is biblical proof that its inspired of God. prophets are inspired of God. Son of Man wasn't only what Jesus called Himself remember? old testament prophets??? Son of man, say this to them....

everything isn't in the Bible. that's exactly like pauls writings, people assume he established churches with them. No. He sent letters, for rebuke and encouragement to churches already established. Som that He helped establish. yet, do you suppose every writing of paul is preserved? every writing of peter? all cannonozed? no one needs to know the book of enoch for salvation. But it is absolutely inspired by God , regardless if it is in the Bible. Id say enoch and also noah wrote the books as it claims. But again, that's something the reader would have to look into and decide. I know its accurate and before much of what we read in the bible, doesn't one time disagree ( that I have yet read) with the Bible. vast amounts of Knowledge in there, that helps to understand things though, that I'm positive of. you too haha good day.

Jude quoted from the prophesies of Enoch,

"Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about them: “See, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones to judge everyone, and to convict all of them of all the ungodly acts they have committed in their ungodliness, and of all the defiant words ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”

The prophesies of Enoch was originally apart of the scriptures up to the 3rd century where it fell out of use. The known copies are Slavonic and Ethiopic Enoch, a copy of which I have. It goes into good detail where Genesis 6:1 barely touches on regarding the son's of God, the angels who took wives for themselves from the daughters of mankind and their resulting offspring being giants. It also goes into detail about the teachings of those angels, also referred to as "the watchers of heaven" who taught mankind about sorcery, the dividing of roots and trees, astrology, how to make weapons of war, the motions of the moon and the stars and many other things that caused mankind to become corrupted. The flood is also mentioned and well has Noah, Michael the archangel and Gabriel.

Well coming from one who just said Paul was in error for not using your measure of what is considered "proper context", then I am tickled to be in the same company as such a one as Paul when it comes to your judgment of what is "proper exegesis". Remember, the wind blows where it will, and you hear the sound of it, but you know not where it comes from, nor where it goes, such are we who are born of God's Spirit. Peace :)
You are obviously thinking of someone else! I have never said Paul was in error about anything! So never my measure, although I had a good chuckle today thinking about your comment that I had too much education to understand the "simple" gospel. Something about "out of the mouths of babes?" Well, not quite, but close enough.

Always the last refuge of people with no real Biblical answers to what has been posted! Peace!

So it looks like I was slandered by someone who has never progressed in studying the Bible farther than basic word studies and presents himself as a prophet of God?

That's rich! Just rich!

PS. I believe it was ISIT that pulled Paul's words out of context. In other words, used the wrong measure of his words. I actually quote whole passages, whereas some people here have positively perfected the art of cherry picking verses to support their opinions. Well, you can help some of the people some of the time, but certainly not all the people, all of the time! Lol

I was showing how Paul pulled these verses out of their contexts here

It can be shown that you can use various verses from elsewhere (and out of their initial contextes) to create another context in order to prove the truth of God, like these for example, Leviticus 18:5 Duet 30:12-14 & Duet 32:32, Isaiah 28:16, 52:7,65:1-2 53:1 Psalms 19:4 & Joel 2:32 pulling them out of their contexts and using them together doesnt contradict.

Snipped out your nitpicking at my spelling and your own example as you set forth as its not useful I was using Paul's own.

(snipped your nitpicking)
And no, you really can't pull them out of context, and understand their meaning. Esp. When those verses date back to the just after the Exodus, when the Israelities had not crossed the Jordan River to begin the conquest, through to later prophets like Isaiah and Joel warning of captivity for the disobedient Israelites.
I responded,

Yes you can Paul uses those very verses in his discourse in Romans 10:1-21

Which are also shown here where these specific verses in the footnotes are gathered up here

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans 10

Which is why InSpiritInTruth said,

How dare Paul not follow her rules on context! LOL That was good.
He is speaking of the rules that you applied, which you did not know was Paul's, but it was from his example that I had pulled out from (even from the first) as set forth in Romans 10 there

jude v14-15 directly quotes from the text of enoch, wich is scientifically proven to be written at least 350 ears before jude, jude says "enoch prophesied and then quotes from enochs text. that shows clearly that jude an apostle, took the book of enoch as a prophecy. , peter also quotes it. pauls speaking of the man of lawlessness in thessolonicans, could be taken from enoch as well, not word for word like jude, and peter, but the imagery is not mistakable. the book of ezekeil also, the book of Daniel, the book of revelation all make the same imagery and thinking as is written in enochs books.

Enoch is mentioned in genesis 5:23-24 Altogether, enoch lived 365 years. Enoch walked with God and was no more, because God took Him away" Enoch didn't die. he is also mentioned in Hebrews 11:5 "By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death: "He could not be found, because God had taken him away." For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God." Enoch is the only man to not die before the flood other than noah, His great great grandson. Enoch walked away with God all others have died. think about what that means bro.

the book of enoch, was discovered in the caves near the dead sea along with the book of psalms which now is now in the Bible. there were 4 texts found of enochs writings, showing the importance of the texts. in the books of enoch, written at least 350 years ( of coarse much earlier) before Jesus was ever born on earth. in the books of enoch are most of Jesus teachings. written on these scrolls before Jesus the messiah was even born. Enoch, the only one to never die ( other than Elijah, but Elijah was taken by a whirlwind 2 kings 2:1, he didn't walk with God as it is said of enoch. The books of enoch are an account of the days before the flood and have details of many things in the bible such as the giants that are mentioned briefly in genesis when the fallen angels lusted for women and had children called the Nephilim. the book of enoch explains so many things if people will take time to just read it prayerfully with an open mind. like where do evil spirits come from? what does peter and jude mean when they talk of the angels being held in darkness for judgement? what happened when the Nephilim were on the earth before the flood? so many mysteries and insights. consider that Enoch, and Elijah never died. Jesus said Elijah was John the Baptist, who was beheaded. that leaves enoch the only who never died but walked away with God. His books are an account of those things and Jesus teachings are in there, the book of revelation and Daniel are understood far more when the book of enoch is entered into the mix. also consider things like in Daniel12:9 where in His vision he is about to write what the angel is telling Him, but hes told "seal up the vision, its for the end times" and also the same in revelation john is told "seal up what the 7 thunders said and do not write it down."rev 10:4. and the angel who appears near the end holding the little scroll.

all I'm saying is that people whouls read the book of enoch for themselves with an open mind, not disregarding it because the roman catholics didn't put it in the bible. and people label it gnostic. its not a doctrine book at all. But I know it fits so well and fills in so many things we cant understand about the days before the flood. it explains all the worship of baal, and all the other false dieties we here of in the bible. its really a good study and interesting for sure. describes what enoch saw when He walked away with God. He explains the flood was coming, the law would then come, and then the Messiah would arrive. tells of the judgement ect. and nothing ive found disagrees with the bible, just helps connect a lot of things for me , myself anyways. lol I didn't want it to be a big deal, its interesting study and ive found a lot of connections since ive been reading it a lot of new insight that makes perfect sense.

I find his posts to be very edifying. I don't see doom and gloom in them. I suppose that if my conscience was bothering me because I was living in sin or following false doctrine, and believed that I was without sin and following the truth, I probably would view his comments negatively. But since I strive to live with a clean conscience and trust that if GOD has something against me, he will let me know so that I can repent and keep going, I have no problem with his posts and my spirit bears witness that his words are truth.

But that's the thing HRFTD, I don't live in sin and I don't have a guilty conscience and I don't follow a false Jesus. I know the love of God in Christ and it is strong, solid and lovely. I just shared with a sister here., "there is no shadow of turning with thee" James 1:17
[SUP]17 [/SUP]Every good gift and every perfect ([SUP][a][/SUP]free, large, full) gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of all [that gives] light, in [the shining of] Whom there can be no variation [rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [as in an eclipse].

His love can be counted on in a sick and dying world of confusion and trouble. In Him all is well. It does not change with the times or seasons of a persons life. His love only becomes more and bigger in our estimation as we see and magnify Christ. His love endures all things. And He teaches us how to love that way. No shadow of turning from God on us from His turning from us because He promises never to turn from us or leave us. "Thou changest not Thy compassions they fail not...Great is Thy faithfulness., Lord unto me......

And to answer ISIT post#354 God no longer curses us.,we are IN His Son., so there is no need to warn us of curses so He does not do that. (you need to find out who is cursed) No more curses come down on those who are in Christ. Jesus took every curse meant for everyone born in Adam who have been reborn in Christ. There is no curse or fear of a curse for us. For you to preach and teach it is unbiblical.

You miss the great and awesome message and you can't post it. But that is the message and truth we have in Christ. I'm not sure what you guys are edified by if you don't know the constant and abiding love of God in Christ. Is it your religion? Is it your satisfaction in your own ability to believe you have met the requirements of a Holy Righteous God?

So then instead you speak to everyone constantly of and having a certain expectation of judgment., for you have "arrived" on your own merit to the challenge you believe is put before you by God?.,so is that the reason you are not daily afraid and scared stiff?? You have confidence in yourself that much?

Jesus has taken away all believers judgments and curses so there is no fear of them anymore. We have His love and grace. No fear whatsoever. Perfect love (the kind that God gives) casts OUT fear. The love of God constrains and grows us. It does not bring down fear and doubt of our standing in Christ because we know that if one died for and rose again on our behalf, it is finished. Amen!!!! (just typed myself happy yet again after posting on this thread of doom and gloom)

I pray those who come here will be encouraged in Jesus Christ's finished work on the cross. And if they accept Him, they too can be confident and walk in newness of life in Christ not only for when they get to heaven but for today while they are here walking on earth with Him as their Good Shepherd who feeds His flock and leads them beside the still waters. Psalm 23 AMEN!!!

jude v14-15 directly quotes from the text of enoch, wich is scientifically proven to be written at least 350 ears before jude, jude says "enoch prophesied and then quotes from enochs text. that shows clearly that jude an apostle, took the book of enoch as a prophecy. , peter also quotes it. pauls speaking of the man of lawlessness in thessolonicans, could be taken from enoch as well, not word for word like jude, and peter, but the imagery is not mistakable. the book of ezekeil also, the book of Daniel, the book of revelation all make the same imagery and thinking as is written in enochs books.

Gotta confess. I have no clue what most of the "big" words mean lol so I often pretend to know what gnostic, pseudo whatever ect mean haha. I'm a simple feller, just believe Gods word and not really a scholar as in the terms of the world. Most of which I find to be man made in order to label others and cause division anywhoser. So yeah, I'm not booksmart, do study the Bible a lot and pray often. pseudo, gnostic....I always am suspect of silent letters ;) doctrine of devils I think
