The new covenant of God, is not to be lesser than the old testament, it is that same covenant, but written in the heart. All is not decreased or become obselete, all has increased and fulfilled. Now the just men are made perfect. Now all has become honourable. Now we no longer fall short, we are now justified through Christs Spirit. Our righteousness is not to be less than those of the old covenant, it is to exceed.
Hebrews 12:23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
Isaiah 42:21 The Lord is well pleased for his righteousness' sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable.
Matthew 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
There is not no more law abiding. The old law was in the letter, not in the heart, now it is the law of faith. Without the deeds of that law of the letter. This hpowever does not make the law void, as all wish, it establishes the law. Death has no more dominion over is, which is sin. We have to be dead to sin, we cease to obey the old master sin, we serve the real master of righteousness, obedience,. not nothing of law, it is all commandment, because it is a law, and being free from sij, evidences you obey the law in the spirit serving righteousness.
Romans 3:27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
29 Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:
30 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.
31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
Romans 6:9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
So we do not walk after the flesh, that LAW of the Spirit of life in Christ makes us free from the unfruitful law of sin and death, that law which was the first covenant and could not be obeyed until written in the heart, and now, the righteousness of the LAW, is FULFILLED in us, if we walk in and have that Spirit of Christ through belief in Him...
Romans 8:8 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

13 In that He says, “A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.
You want to follow the old. Good luck. It will get you no where.
