The Bible in its entirety makes it crystal clear. You've been taught wrong.
Don't make unwarranted assumptions.

1 John 3:4 " Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness." Nothing there about the ten commandments.

It's not about what or how I was taught, but rather about the plain text of Scripture. I know how to read. ;)

And what do you imagine the Law is?

Before I answer that, and I do indeed have an answer awaiting, will you kindly acknowledge that 1 John 3:4 does not in fact mention the ten commandments.

SIN:

Finally a topic I'm an expert on.

But I suppose I'm not alone.

I seem to have a gift for upsetting people.

But I believe, as a Christian, I should embrace my special gifts.

.
I agree. I've been told many times I have the gift of criticism.

Does that mean you have a gift for criticizing, or a gift for being criticized.

I just want to know what I should do next.

You should proceed cautiously. That should be enough information for a discerning Christian.

If I were a discerning Christian I'm sure that would mean something.

But as things are...

I have found exactly the opposite to be true of you. And I've always found it fascinating how you have done so well with the use of only one eye.

No, I will not because I'm not gonna play your semantics games.

The 10 Commandments is exactly what it's referring to. The 10 Commandments are God's Law.

Now, as you promised.

Answer my questions.

Semantics? You're the one claiming that the words mean something other than what they say. You won't accept what Scripture actually says. That's not a "me" problem.

Acts 24:14-16

"But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets: And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust. And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men."

And there we have it.

Refusal to answer is admission that your argument is faulty.

You have no response to the sheer Truth of God's Word.
