I think that the problem is more complex than that. The Bible calls homosexuality an abomination. In the sense of eternal life or ****ation, all sin has the same effect and the same cure. God loves all, no matter the specifics of their sins. But in the sense of temporal life, there are obvious differences, as scripture points out.
At the same time, when Scripture talks about homosexuality it seems to be talking specifically about the act of "lying with a man as with a woman".

In fact, it's arguable (though not certain) that what's being forbidden here is not actually romantic feelings for people of the same sex but sodomy. The word abomination is applicable because such... acts... are unsanitary and potentially dangerous, especially in the ancient world before protective measures were invented.

I think it is talking about the act. However , Jesus said that even lust in the heart was adultery so even if they lust after other men it is fornication. Oh and here's where I get my daily tongue in cheek humor fix with an ounce of sarcasm : it's ok to have sexual feelings for someone of the same sex, as long as you do it in love. :p.

I think that there is nothing sinful about a man loving a man, but it is sinful for that love to become sexual.
