Do you think God is punishing the whole human race for what Adam and Eve did?

Why would he do that? If one of our children did something wrong, would we punish the rest of our children for the act of that one?

We would not punish the rest of our children for the act of one…does that mean we have more compassion than God? Give me a break, something is not adding up here?

Adam and Eve were designed to live forever. They died at a judgment from God for what they did. So why do the rest of the whole human family have to die?

This is bad.Something is not adding up here?

We teach our children right, and wrong so they will grow up to be good people. Why would God not want Adam and Eve to know right and wrong? Should we raise our children not knowing right and wrong? Are we missing something?

If one of our children did something we told them not to, should we kill them? Should we also kill all of our children, even the future unborn ones?

Something is starting to sound crazy?

Would you follow a God that had no respect for the lives of his own children?

Love, love, love. Does God talk the talk, but don’t walk the walk? Whats going on here?

Is there a chance we children of God don’t have the story right? Something is really, really wrong with this picture?
If we do have the story right...Maybe we should run away, or call the police?

Can anybody help me? or is it a secret? And if it's a secret than I'm really confused because God says, "This means life, their taking in knowledge of the one you sent forth, Jesus Christ."
Something is wronge here? If knowledge means life, the lack of it would mean death. If everything is a secret, what are we dealing with here?
Are you guys sure about this fruit in the Garden thing? I'm a simple minded guy. Can somebody explain it to me in simple term...I'm begining to think from what you guys say, this God might be a serial killer...something not right here.

God is not punishing the whole human race. Yes we are born under the curse and are subject to physical death.

Yet physical death is but a blip in the scheme of things. God has given us the free gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ and we all have the opportunity to receive that gift if we are willing to repent and be faithful to God.

It is our own rebellion which brings condemnation upon our heads, not what Adam did. We are accountable for our own sin and thus it is not unjust of God to punish sinners. It is in fact very merciful of God to offer pardon on condition of repentance.

Therefore choose God and live.

Hello Domenic , this is a interesting question that you have brought up and I think I have an answer for you. I have just pulled out a bit of the article that I got this information from if you wish to review the whole article here is the link , Why Does God Allow Suffering? — Watchtower ONLINE LIBRARY

To find out why God allows suffering, we need to think back to the time when suffering began. When Satan led Adam and Eve into disobeying Jehovah, an important question was raised. Satan did not call into question Jehovah’s power. Even Satan knows that there is no limit to Jehovah’s power. Rather, Satan questioned Jehovah’s right to rule. By calling God a liar who withholds good from his subjects, Satan charged that Jehovah is a bad ruler. (Genesis 3:2-5) Satan implied that mankind would be better off without God’s rulership. This was an attack on Jehovah’s sovereignty, his right to rule.

[SUP]11[/SUP] Adam and Eve rebelled against Jehovah. In effect, they said: ‘We do not need Jehovah as our Ruler. We can decide for ourselves what is right and what is wrong.’ How could Jehovah settle that issue? How could he teach all intelligent creatures that the rebels were wrong and that his way truly is best? Someone might say that God should simply have destroyed the rebels and made a fresh start. But Jehovah had stated his purpose to fill the earth with the offspring of Adam and Eve, and he wanted them to live in an earthly paradise. (Genesis 1:28) Jehovah always fulfills his purposes. (Isaiah 55:10, 11) Besides that, getting rid of the rebels in Eden would not have answered the question that had been raised regarding Jehovah’s right to rule.

[SUP]12[/SUP] Let us consider an illustration. Imagine that a teacher is telling his students how to solve a difficult problem. A clever but rebellious student claims that the teacher’s way of solving the problem is wrong. Implying that the teacher is not capable, this rebel insists that he knows a much better way to solve the problem. Some students think that he is right, and they also become rebellious. What should the teacher do? If he throws the rebels out of the class, what will be the effect on the other students? Will they not believe that their fellow student and those who joined him are right? All the other students in the class might lose respect for the teacher, thinking that he is afraid of being proved wrong. But suppose that the teacher allows the rebel to show the class how he would solve the problem.

[SUP]13[/SUP] Jehovah has done something similar to what the teacher does. Remember that the rebels in Eden were not the only ones involved. Millions of angels were watching. (Job 38:7; Daniel 7:10) How Jehovah handled the rebellion would greatly affect all those angels and eventually all intelligent creation. So, what has Jehovah done? He has allowed Satan to show how he would rule mankind. God has also allowed humans to govern themselves under Satan’s guidance.

[SUP]14[/SUP] The teacher in our illustration knows that the rebel and the students on his side are wrong. But he also knows that allowing them the opportunity to try to prove their point will benefit the whole class. When the rebels fail, all honest students will see that the teacher is the only one qualified to lead the class. They will understand why the teacher thereafter removes any rebels from the class. Similarly, Jehovah knows that all honesthearted humans and angels will benefit from seeing that Satan and his fellow rebels have failed and that humans cannot govern themselves. Like Jeremiah of old, they will learn this vital truth: “I well know, O Jehovah, that to earthling man his way does not belong. It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step.”—Jeremiah 10:23

Do you think God is punishing the whole human race for what Adam and Eve did?
Original Sin.

Why would he do that?
Read the bible and find out.

If one of our children did something wrong, would we punish the rest of our children for the act of that one?
Terrible argument. His ways are not ours.

We would not punish the rest of our children for the act of one…does that mean we have more compassion than God?
Nope. That being said, often we do punish groups for acts of individuals. We have laws against certain things, because people can't handle the freedom.

Give me a break, something is not adding up here?
You're logic mostly.

Adam and Eve were designed to live forever.
They died at a judgment from God for what they did.
Spiritually speaking.

So why do the rest of the whole human family have to die?
We are made in the image of Adam.

Genesis 5:3
When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own
image; and he named him Seth.

This is bad.
To your personal sense of what you think justice ought to be, yes.

Something is not adding up here?
Your lack of scripture.

We teach our children right, and wrong so they will grow up to be good people.
No, we teach them the law of God so that it will convict them of their sin as it is the schoolmaster. In this we hope that the seed of the Gospel will sprout and grow by the power of God. We're not concerned with making moral people.

Why would God not want Adam and Eve to know right and wrong?
I don't think knowing and experiecing wrong is a superior thing, now is it?

Should we raise our children not knowing right and wrong?
I would prefer my children not know what rape and murder are, but because of the fall of man that's not an option. Surely you would prefer a world that knows no conception of sin.

Are we missing something?
Mostly scripture in this post.

If one of our children did something we told them not to, should we kill them?
If God says so.

Should we also kill all of our children, even the future unborn ones?
God commanded killing infants once.

Something is starting to sound crazy?
Yes, but not what you think.

Would you follow a God that had no respect for the lives of his own children?
Yes.

Love, love, love. Does God talk the talk, but don’t walk the walk? Whats going on here?
God is love, he says so himself.

Tree of life Yeshua. The tree of functional and disfunctional or good and evil good is tov = functional evil is ra= disfunctional Adam only new tov the enemy brought disfunction ra it is not about an apple or fruit like we were taught it is about not obeying what the LORD said please look up a teacher his name is Jeff Benner. There are other great teachers as well but He seems to be the one that I learned more from. He will show you how the hebrew works it takes alot of time. It will change everything for you. I know friends and family of mine that say this cant be true. I have talked with rabbis and leaders and they have no answers. Just start at Genesis and trust the Holy Spirit He will not give you a snake or a stone Blessings and have fun I would thank all of you not to tell me about going back to my jewish roots that is an uninformed and a bad teaching. That is not what I believe Jeff Benner teaches. The Word of GOD does not teach that at all.

After reading some of your posts and threads, I am wondering why someone with your education would ask such questions in the first place. Some of the statements, which I labeled in red, are very disturbing. Those who believe in Christ know not to question God's word as if it is wrong, because it isn't. We are allowed to question when lacking in understanding.
James 1:5 [SUP]5 [/SUP]If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

However, we are not to question the authority nor the reasoning of Christ, who is the Word.

Romans 3:4 [SUP]4 [/SUP]God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.
John 1:1[SUP]1[/SUP] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
1 John 1:5[SUP]5[/SUP] This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

Since you question these things, what exactly is it that you believe?

Hi Domenic,
If you read the story carefully, after Adam and Eve eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, God curses the snake and the ground (He does not curse Adam and Eve). Then God acts lovingly toward Adam and Eve, clothing them. They are kicked out of the garden because they might eat from the tree of life, and become immortal like God. Read the story carefully. After their disobedience, God acts lovingly toward them. (Check scripture, because I am doing this from memory.)

What do I believe?
I believe God is the creator of all things. He is our loving Father. I believe Jesus is Gods son, and my Lord. I believe the Bible is Gods written word. I believe a few parts have been changed, but since the Bible was taken from the Scrolls, I have been able to see the changes.
I am a servant of God, and my breath is in his hands. I have built my life to serve my God. If he wanted to use me for a dead door stop…I would be honored.
I know religions are not from God. They lie, and are a tool of the rebel. They are designed to lead people away from Gods truth, without knowing they have been blinded.
Gods truth is simple to understand…it’s not rocket stuff. God said, “Truth leads to everlasting life.” Why would he make it where one person could not understand it.? Some think were here for a test? What kind of test is it when he give us all the answers? I hurt for people. People make my eyes water.
Let me tell you about our God. In ten billion years of learning about him, we will not have put a scratch on the surface of who he is.
Am I smart? No. What he designed us for does not require more smart than he gave us.
I don’t lie. I don’t steal. I believe it is better to die, than to kill. I never water down Gods truth. I only have two things in my prayers. I thank him for life, and ask him to guide me in serving him. This is who I am inside, and outside.

God does not "punish us". In order for God to love us, He had to have a way for us to refuse Him, or it would not be love. He warned us that the tree would separate us from His love. That was love right there. We have isolated ourselves from God by sin, and compared to what we could have, that is punishment, but we did it to ourselves.

Domenic you stated that Adam and Eve were designed to live forever.
That isn't true.
They could live forever if they ate from the Tree of Life, which is in the garden.
When they went against God he said 'they can't stay in the garden because only those that do as I say can live forever' and he made them leave the garden.
Through His son Jesus, God allows us to one day be a part of the garden in the Kingdom of God.

I guess my point is that Adam and Eve were not designed to be immortal. Their immortality was from the Tree of Life provided by God. There immortality was by God's grace, not inherent.
By doing wrong against God's command they were no longer allowed to eat from the Tree and so their act 'brought death into the world'

That's how I read it anyway.

I see a lot of lengthy responses here. Domenic, you are seeing things from merely a human point of view.

Also if you switch the e and o in your name it spells demonic. Just saying.

It messed up the world. We would have all "died" anyway; it would not have looked like it does now; we would have just gone to heaven. The Bible calls it "die of death", using a Hebrew word that implies separation (mot tmot). Our life is like a living death compared to what it would have been otherwise. We cannot do God's will as we see it inside ourselves. The first two changed how the world appears to us all, blocking all of our ability to see God as He wishes us to see Him.

Adam and Eve caused themselves to be separated from God by sin. In order for this to NOT be an eternal sentence of separation from God, God kicked them out of the garden of eden and caused their physical body to die. We are children of this physical body, which dies. But God has made a way for us to come back to Him and not be separated.

The gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Tree of life? Genesis 2:17......please find the tree of life in that scripture? Adam was not stupid, even you and I would eat from that tree first.
