This is so simple I do not understand why anyone can take this out of context, yes I do they read into it what they believe instead of believing what they read. Notice the angels are "

Explain how they had time to come to earth and marry women and have children while they are in tartarus in sternal chains of darkness? They can't. As far as strange flesh, the ESV translates it rightly "unnatural desires" and the context is Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in
sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desires, they are an example of God's judgement as are those in the wilderness and the angels, who were already judged before the Sodom, Gomorrah and the surrounding cities. The point is that those cities were judged as were the angels and those in the wilderness. NOT a proof text for the fallen angel in Genesis 6:2, 4 non-sense.

Thanks for proving my point all the more by avoiding the context of the history of the story. It you had that much zeal for the truth yu would of taken those Scriptures and would of done the contextual exegete to prove you point as right, but you know you can that's why you keep avoiding it and bring up rabbit trails.

The Elohim are mentioned in chapters 2 and 3 as those to whom YHWH is speaking when He mentions 'us'. Cherubim 'suddenly' appear in ch 3. Thus the bene Elohim of ch 6. continues on the theme, 'Bene' signifies 'those like' (e.g. the sons of Belial' etc). Supernatural beings keep on 'suddenly appearing' in Genesis.

You have God's special revelation I suppose. The text NOWHERE refers to bene Elohim when if the lines were 'sons of God' it could easily have been said.

It was not physical sex as you know it. It was what is now called 'demon intercourse'. The same goes on today in some circles. But we first got the idea FROM the Scriptures.

I am satisfied that it fits the whole context, of Scripture. So it does contextually say it. We do not need to twist the Scriptures like you are doing. We accept that the daughters of 'adam are the daughters previously spoken of as 'adamites and therefore of the line of Seth. In the previous contexts the word 'adam is connected with Seth not with Cain. Cain is called 'ish.,

Bene Elohim NEVER refers to men in the OT. Why should this mention be different?

I don't believe in proof texts. Peter and Jude weren't trying to prove anything about Gen 6. They simply referred to it.

I have done. The only daughters mentioned in the context were Seth and his line's daughters (ch 5). And only Seth is called 'adam. Thus the daughters of men ('adam) are Seth's.


But you won't because you can't. Take the challenge of post # 352 and prove me wrong. That's all anyone does, because they can't go from Genesis 4:11-6:1 to show that 6:2, 4 are fallen angels or they don't know what contextual exegete means.

Contextual exegete of Genesis 4:11-6:8


As mentioned the line is Adam, the son of God, with Abel to carry out that line. Since Cain killed Able, "And Adam knew his wife again, and she bore a son and named him Seth,For God has appointed another seed for me instead of Abel, whom Cain killed.” Genesis 4:25 in verses 26 "And as for Seth, to him also a son was born; and he named him Enosh. At that time people began to call upon the name of the Lord." Seth, "Put; who puts; fixed" (Hitchcock's Bible names - Bible Dictionary) Eve name Seth-fixed, what Cain destroyed, for her Seed to be carried on, was fixed in Seth. Did Seth that brought back the line to carry her Seed, named his son Enosh-mortal, because with him Adam's line would continue, as in 5:3. Seth was born after the likeness of his image.

Adam's line the son of God, Luke 3:23, 36-38 "Now Jesus Himself began His ministry at about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, the son of Heli,……………..36 the son of Shem, the son of Noah, the son of Lamech, 37the son of Methuselah, the son of Enoch, the son of Jared, the son of Mahalalel, the son of Cainan, 38the son of Enosh, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God."

No mention of Cain, why? Because Cain we will see, goes out from the presences of the Lord wandering as a fugitive. With his genealogy following his image, Lamech killed a young man, 4:23. So Cain's line was wandering outside of the presence of the Lord, Nod means wandering.

Genesis 4:9-24 “Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is Abel your brother?” He said, “I do not know; am I my brother's keeper?” 10And the Lord said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood is crying to me from the ground. 11And now you are cursed from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand. 12When you work the ground, it shall no longer yield to you its strength. This genealogy of Adam had sons and daughters, verse 4. Seth had son and daughters, verse 7. Enosh had sons and daughters, verse 10. Cainan had sons and daughters, verse 13. Mahalalel had sons and daughters, verse 16. Jared had sons and daughters, verse 19. Enoch had sons and daughters, verse 22. Methuselah had sons and daughters verse 26. Lamech had sons and daughters, verse 30. Remember the mention of one sister/daughter for Cain's genealogy. This is the genealogy of Adam the son of God.

Genesis 6:1 “Now it came to pass, when men (line of Cain) began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them(the line of Cain),”


This is the multiplication of Cain’s genealogy, because 4:25-5:32 was the multiplication of the genealogy of Adam with 8 verses detailing that the sons of Adam the son of God, had sons and daughters. Genesis 6:1 picks up where Genesis 4:16-24 left off, with Cain’s genealogy having sons and daughters or multiplying on the face of the earth. In Genesis 4:14 He says he will be a fugitive and a wanderer 16, it tells us that Cain went out for the presents of the Lord, verse 26 Adam's genealogy, at that time people began to call on the name of the Lord. Is this a sign that Adam's genealogy began to be in that covenant that Adam had with the Lord? It sounds like it, when you compare Cain's line, wandering outside the presence of the Lord and a member killing as did the fugitive Cain.

Here's my contextual exegetical conclusion of the stories of those two genealogies, being told in Genesis 4:11-6:1.

Genesis 6:2 “that the sons of God (line of Adam) saw the daughters of men(line of Cain), that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose”

Where are fallen angels introduced into the contextual lines of Adam and Cain? In the context of the history of man before the flood? With the Seed being the main story line, From Genesis to Revelation the Bible is about Jesus, His coming, His life, His return. Noah is in the line from Adam to Jesus or from Jesus to Adam, with all that being in the overall context of the Bible and chapter 4 and 5, Cain's line and Adam's line with Adam's line to carry on the Seed (Jesus), is the immediate context. Why would the Holy Spirit introduce fallen angels into the context of the immediate story and the overall story?

Genesis 6:3, 5-8 “Then the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not abide in[a] man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.….5 Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. 7So the Lord said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.” 8But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord."

With the context of Genesis 4:11-24 about Cain and his the genealogy, men, his lines women, daughters of men Genesis 6:1, after the mention of one daughter/sister in Genesis 4:22 her name
Naaman. Genesis 4:25-5:32 the line of Adam the son of God, his line (of men) sons of God, that had both sons and daughters. With the two lines marrying in Genesis 6:2, the multiplication of Cain genealogy Genesis 6:1, the results of those unions Genesis 6:4 the mighty men who were of old, the men of renown. The Lord's reaction to the wickedness of man, Genesis 6:3, 5-7, the Lord is not judging because the daughters of men and the sons of God married and had children, the Lord is judging because meant was wicked in his heart continually and for no other reason. With one man finding grace with the Lord, Noah, Genesis 6:8, part of the line from Adam to Jesus, Luke 3:36.

Genesis 6:4 “The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward (what days?), when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children (who were they?) to them. These were the mighty men who were of old, the men of renown.

The mighty men of old, the men of renown, were the children, not the Niphilim, they were already on the earth, in those days.

How did angels get into that context, if the sons of God are not the line of Adam and Cain's women are not the daughters of men in the immediate context of Genesis 4:9-5:32 and Genesis 6:3, 5-8?

It doesn't fit, nor the overall context, with "her Seed" being the coming Messiah and Adam's genealogy goes to Jesus with Noah in that line.


Fallen angels do not fit the context, you have to read into the story, go out of context, pull verse out of context and go outside of the Bible, to try and make a case that the "sons of God" as being fallen angels and to say they are not fallen, is even harder to prove. Because once they leave their first estate, they were cast into tartarus and are reserved in eternal chains of darkness until judgement, that does sound like an angel that is in good standing with God, to be called His son.

Again the challenge is to show from Genesis 4:9-5:32 how this is not the genealogies of Adam and Cain. With 6:1 not being Cain’s genealogy multiplying on the face of the earth or sons and daughters being born to them. Since Genesis 5:4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, 22, 26 and 30, show daughters being born to Adams genealogy. Genesis 6:3, 5-8 being about man, how fallen angels fit into Genesis 6:2, 4?

Bring your contextual exegete, following these lines of the context to prove that the sons of God are fallen angels. I'll even abridge it for you

Adam and his genealogy, Genesis 4:25-5:32. This genealogy of Adam had sons and daughters, verse 4. Seth had son and daughters, verse 7. Enosh had sons and daughters, verse 10. Cainan had sons and daughters, verse 13. Mahalalel had sons and daughters, verse 16. Jared had sons and daughters, verse 19. Enoch had sons and daughters, verse 22. Methuselah had sons and daughters verse 26. Lamech had sons and daughters, verse 30. Remember the mention of one sister/daughter for Cain's genealogy. This is the genealogy of Adam the son of God.

Genesis 6:1 “Now it came to pass, when men (line of Cain) began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them(the line of Cain),”

This is the multiplication of Cain’s genealogy, because 4:25-5:32 was the multiplication of the genealogy of Adam with 8 verses detailing that the sons of Adam the son of God, had sons and daughters. Genesis 6:1 picks up where Genesis 4:16-24 left off, with Cain’s genealogy having sons and daughters or multiplying on the face of the earth. In Genesis 4:14 He says he will be a fugitive and a wanderer 16, it tells us that Cain went out for the presents of the Lord, verse 26 Adam's genealogy, at that time people began to call on the name of the Lord. Is this a sign that Adam's genealogy began to be in that covenant that Adam had with the Lord? It sounds like it, when you compare Cain's line, wandering outside the presence of the Lord and a member killing as did the fugitive Cain.

Here's my contextual exegetical conclusion of the stories of those two genealogies, being told in Genesis 4:11-6:1.

Genesis 6:2 “that the sons of God (line of Adam) saw the daughters of men(line of Cain), that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose”

Genesis 6:3, 5-8 “Then the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.….5 Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. 7So the Lord said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.” 8But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord."

With the context of Genesis 4:11-24 about Cain and his the genealogy, men, his lines women, daughters of men Genesis 6:1, after the mention of one daughter/sister in Genesis 4:22 her name Naaman. Genesis 4:25-5:32 the line of Adam the son of God, his line (of men) sons of God, that had both sons and daughters. With the two lines marrying in Genesis 6:2, the multiplication of Cain genealogy Genesis 6:1, the results of those unions Genesis 6:4 the mighty men who were of old, the men of renown. The Lord's reaction to the wickedness of man, Genesis 6:3, 5-7, the Lord is not judging because the daughters of men and the sons of God married and had children, the Lord is judging because meant was wicked in his heart continually and for no other reason. With one man finding grace with the Lord, Noah, Genesis 6:8, part of the line from Adam to Jesus, Luke 3:36.

Genesis 6:4 “The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward (what days?), when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children (who were they?) to them. These were the mighty men who were of old, the men of renown.

The mighty men of old, the men of renown, were the children, not the Niphilim, they were already on the earth, in those days.

How did angels get into that context, if the sons of God are not the line of Adam and Cain's women are not the daughters of men in the immediate context of Genesis 4:9-5:32 and Genesis 6:3, 5-8?

It doesn't fit, nor the overall context, with "her Seed" being the coming Messiah and Adam's genealogy goes to Jesus with Noah in that line.

Fallen angels do not fit the context, you have to read into the story, go out of context, pull verse out of context and go outside of the Bible, to try and make a case that the "sons of God" as being fallen angels and to say they are not fallen, is even harder to prove. Because once they leave their first estate, they were cast into tartarus and are reserved in eternal chains of darkness until judgement, that does sound like an angel that is in good standing with God, to be called His son.

Again the challenge is to show from Genesis 4:9-5:32 how this is not the genealogies of Adam and Cain. With 6:1 not being Cain’s genealogy multiplying on the face of the earth or sons and daughters being born to them. Since Genesis 5:4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, 22, 26 and 30, show daughters being born to Adams genealogy. Genesis 6:3, 5-8 being about man, how fallen angels fit into Genesis 6:2, 4?

This is a contextual exegete of Genesis 4:11-6:1, 3, 5-7, 8, follow this line of contextual exegete, to prove that Genesis 6:2, 4 are fallen angels.

This is so simple I do not understand why anyone can take this out of context, yes I do they read into it what they believe instead of believing what they read. Notice the angels are "
kept in eternal chains under gloomy darkness until the judgment" they are being served until judgement, why were they judged, "who did not stay within their own position of authority, but left their proper dwelling" so the angels were judged for not staying in their original position, not for any other reason and Peter adds in I Peter 2:4 they were cast into tartarus, they were immediately judged, cast into tartarus, kept in eternal chains of darkness until judgement.

why would they be judged for leaving their estate, the Most High sends angels down here all the time so making the trip from there to here is not what they were judged for.
Explain how they had time to come to earth and marry women and have children while they are in tartarus in sternal chains of darkness?

taking women is the act they were judged for, the judgment came after that.

As far as strange flesh, the ESV translates it rightly "unnatural desires" and the context is Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in
sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desires, they are an example of God's judgement as are those in the wilderness and the angels, who were already judged before the Sodom, Gomorrah and the surrounding cities. The point is that those cities were judged as were the angels and those in the wilderness. NOT a proof text for the fallen angel in Genesis 6:2, 4 non-sense.

avoiding the context? by this you mean ignoring the fact that angels were in Sodom and every man from town went crazy wanting to get with them. every man, from every part of the city, young and old, surrounding the house? that sounds very very very extreme. all this just to have immoral sex, why not just have immoral sex with each other, what made those in Lots home so different? they were angels, of unknown origin just like Jude confirms.

that would be because angel is a specific heavenly being with a specific job. just like heavenly host, angels are messengers, host are warriors. they are both "sons of" as they are both creations of the Father but with different jobs.
you think the "sons of" in Job are men? men present at the time of creation before men were created? not likely.

Well People will believe what they choose to believe..That however will not change the truth..Fallen angels took the daughters of men and giants were the result.
All creatures to reproduce after their own kind Look it up. Sons of Adam or Seth or whoever mating with the daughters of men will produce humans since their parents were human... Mix the breeding stock and you'll get a mess.

The Bible says it means 'appointed'. These bible name fixers are well known for their manipulations of names which are accepted by the ignorant.

Did Seth that brought back the line to carry her Seed, named his son Enosh-mortal, because with him Adam's line would continue, as in 5:3.

My Bible says the city was called Enosh. In other words he set up a tent or cave encampment in the desert. The presence of YHWH was some symbol which spoke of YHWH.

How did angels get into that context, if the sons of God are not the line of Adam and Cain's women are not the daughters of men in the immediate context of Genesis 4:9-5:32 and Genesis 6:3, 5-8?
because they were the bene Elohim and Seth's daughters were the daughters of 'adam.

It doesn't fit, nor the overall context, with "her Seed" being the coming Messiah and Adam's genealogy goes to Jesus with Noah in that line.
But why should Messiah affect the issue? He had disreputable ancestors anyway.

you have to read into the story, go out of context, pull verse out of context and go outside of the Bible,
Bene Elohim are mentioned in the Bible as angels (Job). Sons of Elohim are never descriptive of human beings,

to try and make a case that the "sons of God" as being fallen angels and to say they are not fallen, is even harder to prove.

Because once they leave their first estate, they were cast into tartarus and are reserved in eternal chains of darkness until judgement, that does sound like an angel that is in good standing with God, to be called His son.


If they are the same they left their first estate at exactly this time. There was nothing against them previously.

But anyway 'sons of --' merely indicates someone who is like someone else, in this case supernatural beings.. It neither indicates goodness or badness of itself.

Again the challenge is to show from Genesis 4:9-5:32 how this is not the genealogies of Adam and Cain.

only ONE daughter of Cain is mentioned earlier. The daughters of 'adam coming immediately after ch 5 refers to SETH's line.

Since Genesis 5:4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, 22, 26 and 30, show daughters being born to Adams genealogy.
Yes all born to Seth.

Genesis 6:3, 5-8 being about man, how fallen angels fit into Genesis 6:2, 4?
How did the mysterious figure in ch 3 fit in?

Bring your contextual exegete, following these lines of the context to prove that the sons of God are fallen angels. I'll even abridge it for you

You need to get things right if you're going to make a stand....Elohim are not supernatural beings Elohim is A supernatural being...Elohim is one of the names of God. Elohim (Our God Is All-Powerful) Elohim covers Father Son and Holy Spirit All three at once.
