Schools have a variety of classes nowadays...how come none of them are dedicated to common knowledge? Such as how to vote, do taxes, balancing a checkbook, cooking, cleaning, etc.
My school had classes that incorporated most of these subjects.......The voting had to wait until college. Economics taught taxes and checkbook balancing...which I had to teach my teacher because he does everything online......then cooking was taught in a different class that I didn't take, unless you count learning how to cook Spanish food for Spanish class. Cleaning was never taught, but teachers did have students help the janitors....One janitor kept requesting me, I heard a lot of interesting stories from him.
My favorite class was math though.

What kind of prayer partner did you have in mind? What I mean is, what would it require? I'm not always available on the forum but I do check my email here a lot.

I love cantaloupe! Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Kramer discovers the best cantaloupe he ever had.

Just somebody to pray with me, especially when I'm feeling low.. I have a hard time praying, so I figure if I have someone to pray with me, it would make praying not so awkward for me.. I KNOW he hears me, but I feel silly praying out loud to the air..lol..

Oh my gosh. I vented myself almost to tears about this very reality yesterday.

When my mother went to school, she took Home Ec (where she learned cooking and sewing), there was woodshop, accounting, and all that jazz. When I was in high school most of that wasn't there and they may or may not have had an accounting class one year? Nevertheless, it wasn't required.

Quite a few of my peers are starting from nothing on cooking and sewing and building and balancing a checkbook. And all that kind of practical stuff. Smh.
I took home ec on a dare. I was one of two guys in the class. Prolly 20 girls.
I've had worse classes!:D
My school had home ec, but My parents already taught me how to cook and sew. Of course I had friends trying to get me to take it with them so I could do most of the cooking and they could eat more of my food.....The economics teacher tried to teach us practical stuff because he was fresh out of college, but the majority of the kids in that class were the ones who liked fighting and wanted to attack him....
Phil, I had a friend from my church try to convince me that we should try out for cheerleading our senior year, but he wasn't going to show up........I said no, but I found out he fooled a different guy the year before.....

Well, time to say good evening friends. Rest well.

My thought for the evening.

We were born to be real,
not perfect.

Goodnight everyone.

Blond is back.....ugh - what a day and I am done in.....I so want to go to bed and just vegetate but alas I was so sweaty and filthy that I had to take a shower and wash my hair just to cool off and feel clean again.... The house looks oh so much better.....well at least the downstairs is better.....

Like Melita said it is now organized chaos....

Tourist came in and said it looks so much better and stop working now....I made the peach pie top crust was giving me some trouble... but it looks pretty....I hope I can move tomorrow...I even went outside and weeded the courtyard and hosed down the pavement......I am exhausted... but had to wash my hair and waiting on it to dry before I go to bed.... I am staying in bed tomorrow morning until I can't stay there any more.... I will have to catch internet church....wonder if my daughter will approve now... More than likely she will say..... Keep going with the de-cluttering project......lol
