Why do you feel the need to leave? When you have been here for a while you grow a thick skin. The good here far outweighs the bad. Stick around? I enjoy your posts.
I feel the need to leave, because I see some whose words are continually counterproductive to fellowship and yet they remain active members. These are the same people who go around "warning" people that they are in danger of losing their salvation. They also claim to know that they are filled with the Holy Spirit, while implying that others (specific individuals) are not. Fellowship is impossible with these people.
Fellowship is impossible when one belief trumps another, or when one person's belief does not allow them to accept someone with a slightly different belief.
These people often have the view (and fervently promote the view) that being "born again" is separate from trusting in Christ as Savior. Grace is real simple: Ask, receive. The Holy Spirit immediately fills the new Believer. There is no "gestation period" prior to receiving the Guide.
If you see it any differently,
I'm not going to say you're wrong.
I'm not going to say you're a heretic.
I'm not going to say you need the Holy Spirit.
I'm not going to say that you need to read your Bible.
But I will discuss with you, if you are willing and able to remain civil.
What I have found, is that some people are not willing to discuss -- they only want to "preach".
I am not content with simply "ignoring" these people as I encounter them.
Someone who has the audacity to claim that they are filled with the Holy Spirit while publicly implying that another member is not needs to be addressed -- not ignored.
Anyone who has the audacity to infer that any individual 'is not saved' should be addressed -- not ignored.
