I'm just dropping in to say hello to everyone. It's a brisk day in the interior of BC. I'm still having a lot of trouble with my RA, but keeping up my hopes about the new meds I'm going on in a few weeks or so.

Bought Girl Guide cookies today, in honour of all the years I sold them. Church was great - a barbecue after, where we met a bunch of new people. Those fellowship things are really important when you come into a new church.

Glad to hear your sister is doing better LittleBit.

I might bring in my mechanic type husband to properly interpret your explanation, Phil. After looking at that pic, I know the reason I don't go in the garage when my husband is working under his cars and trucks. I would have heart failure to see those tiny little jacks holding up the car, with no hope of crawling out should they collapse. Men and their toys!

Please all, please say a prayer for me for tomorrow because I will be going for my blood work! Father I cast all of my worries, fears, anxiety, and hypochondria onto you! Please take care of me Jesus I pray to you.

“Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall” (Psalm 55:22), and “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7).

I am praying that your blood work returns good results, that the Lord comforts you and frees your mind from anxiety.

I have spent countless hours underneath cars. I am sure that there are also blocks besides the jack(s) supporting the car. Whoever worked on Phil's car almost turned it into a basket case.

Ladies, telling you something important now. If you ever see your husbands working on a car up on jack stands, and he does not have BOTH of the wheels still touching the ground "chocked" (that means firmly wedged with "doorstop-looking" big pieces of wood), from both the front and the rear of each tire, you kick his butt right then and there. This is the most blatant safety violation he can make.

Unless, of course he has a lot of life insurance you may want to collect.

Are you kidding? My husband buys specially made blocks to put under the wheels! I think it is just an excuse to buy more toys/tools though! But if it saves a life - his life insurance expired when he retired, so it really is in my best interest to keep him alive a while longer. So I'm off to make him a heart healthy supper! That means dinner for some of you!

You don't understand how a parking pawl works in an automatic transmission.
A piece of solid steel literally has to break for a car to move, and unless you're on a steep slope, jack stands are pretty immoveable.

Some of you folks need to take a deep breath and relax. I started working on cars for a living when I was 17. I am 59. That's a long time jacking up cars and being safe doing it. Relax, I'm a professional! ;)
