Its interesting that you limited the Languages spoken by Jesus to Aramaic only. Jesus created all the languages ever spoken on this World. Jesus being the Son of God knew every language created by Him.

Why are you limiting that which Jesus who is God had known? Could it be you really do not believe Jesus is the Son of God?

Tell us working4christ2, is Jesus the Son of God? Is Jesus the son of God who created everything? Is Jesus the Son of God who created all the languages spoken by man?

If you believe Jesus did not know other languages then you really do not believe Jesus is God. Which is sad. You have limited the one and only God to justify your Worship of Mary as your god.

The Church was built on Jesus. Jesus is the Cornerstone of the Church, not Peter.

Clearly we see you do not have the Indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Which is no surprise as most Catholics are not Children of God. You can believe and claim all you want that the Church was built on Peter. But, because of your hard Heart towards God, you cannot enter into Paradise with us True Children of God.

The Rock in Matthew 16:18-19 is not Peter.

In the original Greek it is. "Thou art Petros [a little piece of rock], and upon this petra [bedrock] I will build my church. Now who exactly is the Rock? The Rock is Christ. The church is built upon Christ.

I find it very evil of the Catholics to misinterpret this verse to justify their claim its the Catholic Church that is the church that Jesus Christ built. SHAME on you working4christ2!

Clearly The Holy Spirit in this verse used two different Greek words for Rock.

The keys were used to 'bind' and 'lose' on earth and Heaven.

Matthew 18:18
[SUP]18 [/SUP]Truly I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.

Here Jesus is talking to ALL the Disciples, not just Peter. Jesus gave all of them the power to bind and lose, not just Peter.

Why working4christ2 are you telling the lies of the Catholic Church? Do you even have the Indwelling of the Holy Spirit? From what you have posted here and other threads i can tell you do not have the Indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

Have you working4christ2 ever considered accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior before you die in your sins? You really need to consider it.
My friend I AM a INformed and fully practicing Roman Catholic so, OF COURSE Jesus is MY "personal" Lord and savior. Amen!

As for t e "ROCK"

You have a limited and incorrect understanding:

Psalm 19:14
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my rock and my Redeemer.

Psalm 62:2

Isaiah 28:16
Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, "Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a tested stone, A costly cornerstone for the foundation, firmly placed. He who believes in it will not be disturbed.

Psalm 118:22
The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief corner stone.

Matthew 21:42
Jesus said to them, "Did you never read in the Scriptures, 'THE STONE WHICH THE BUILDERS REJECTED, THIS BECAME THE CHIEF CORNER stone; THIS CAME ABOUT FROM THE LORD, AND IT IS MARVELOUS IN OUR EYES'?

Mark 12:10

"Have you not even read this Scripture: 'THE STONE WHICH THE BUILDERS REJECTED, THIS BECAME THE CHIEF CORNER stone;

Luke 20:17
But Jesus looked at them and said, "What then is this that is written: 'THE STONE WHICH THE BUILDERS REJECTED, THIS BECAME THE CHIEF CORNER stone'?

Acts 4:11
"He is the STONE WHICH WAS REJECTED by you, THE BUILDERS, but WHICH BECAME THE CHIEF CORNER stone.

1 Peter 2:6-7
For this is contained in Scripture: "BEHOLD, I LAY IN ZION A CHOICE STONE, A PRECIOUS CORNER stone, AND HE WHO BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED." This precious value, then, is for you who believe; but for those who disbelieve, "THE STONE WHICH THE BUILDERS REJECTED, THIS BECAME THE VERY CORNER stone,"

Matthew 21:44
"And he who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; but on whomever it falls, it will scatter him like dust."

Luke 20:18
"Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces; but on whomever it falls, it will scatter him like dust."

Romans 9:32-33
Why? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as though it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone, just as it is written, "BEHOLD, I LAY IN ZION A STONE OF STUMBLING AND A ROCK OF OFFENSE, AND HE WHO BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED."

1 Peter 2:4-8
And coming to Him as to a living stone which has been rejected by men, but is choice and precious in the sight of God, you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For this is contained in Scripture: "BEHOLD, I LAY IN ZION A CHOICE STONE, A PRECIOUS CORNER stone, AND HE WHO BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED."

The word for “Peter,” Petros, means a small stone (John 1:42). Jesus used a play on words here with petra (“on this rock”) which means a foundation boulder, as in Matthew 7:24, 25 when He described the rock upon which the wise man builds his house. Peter himself uses the same imagery in his first epistle: the church is built of numerous small petros “living stones” (1 Peter 2:5) who, like Peter, confess that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, and those confessions of faith are the bedrock of the church.

In addition, the New Testament makes it abundantly clear that Christ is both the foundation (
Acts 4:11, 12; 1 Corinthians 3:11) and the head (Ephesians 5:23) of the church. It is a mistake to think that here He is giving either of those roles to Peter. There is a sense in which the apostles played a foundational role in the building of the church (Ephesians 2:20), but the role of primacy is reserved for Christ alone, not assigned to Peter. So, Jesus’ words here are best interpreted as a simple play on words in that a boulder-like truth came from the mouth of one who was called a small stone. And Christ Himself is called the “chief cornerstone” (1 Peter 2:6, 7). The chief cornerstone of any building was that upon which the building was anchored. If Christ declared Himself to be the cornerstone, how could Peter be the rock upon which the church was built? It is more likely that the believers, of which Peter is one, are the stones which make up the church, anchored upon the Cornerstone, “and he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame” (1 Peter 2:6).
What is the rock in Matthew 16:18?

FURTHER I can supply FROM THE BIBLE 50 "Peter 1st" cementing Christ selection of Peter, if requested to do so?

I am frankly puzzled by the Protestants community obstinate denial of this evident FACT.

GOD always and every-time choose one MAN to lead His people, to be HIS voice:

Noe, Abram, Moses, Aaron, the Judges, Kings and Prophets; ALL singular; ALL One MAN; so all Jesus did was follow His own TRADITION.

I just gave reams of Scripture defending it. Can you not read,
or do you simply reject what Scripture has to say?

First of ALL, the tile of this THREAD is either misleading or misinformed.

Here form the Catechism of the RCC is what we TEACH and We BELIEVE on Suicide

QUOTE: "
2282 If suicide is committed with the intention of setting an example, especially to the young, it also takes on the gravity of scandal. Voluntary co-operation in suicide is contrary to the moral law.

Grave psychological disturbances, anguish, or grave fear of hardship, suffering, or torture can diminish the responsibility of the one committing suicide."

WHAT this means is that we recognize that GOD alone can and DOES make this judgment call; as it is impossible for mortal man to fully and accurately KNOW the condition of one's mind, and therefore the POSSIBLE degree of culpability attributable to that Soul.

God Bless you

2786. Kephas kay-fas' of Chaldee origin (compare 3710); the Rock; Cephas (i.e. Kepha), a surname of Peter:--Cephas.

www.agapebiblestudy.com: "Cephas" is the Greek transliteration of Peter's Aramaic name "Rock" = Kepha, or perhaps in Galilean Aramaic "Qepha". Only John among the Gospels gives this form of Peter's name but it is also the preferred name that St. Paul uses when he writes about Peter.”

Jesus finishes the 16:17 verse by saying in Aramaic: Mt. 16:18 "So I now say to YOU: You are “Peter [Kepha] and on this rock [kepha] I will build my church [ekklesia]." {SINGULAR} The key to understanding why Jesus called Peter the son of Jonah comes from the buildup of the Jonah passages that come before his final announcement of Simon as Kepa = Rock in Aramaic.” … “John tells us that Jesus told Simon he was "rock" very early in their relationship. It is later inMatthew's account in chapter 16 that Simon/Peter is given formally the title "Rock" in the presence of all the other Apostles. "Rock" is one of God's titles. In the Song of Witness that Moses and Joshua are instructed to teach the Children of Israel to sing as part of their liturgical worship the title "Rock" for God is used 5 times. Christ is also identified as the "Rock" in 1 Corinthians 10:1-5.

But only 2 men in Salvation history are called "rock". They are Abraham [Isaiah 51: 1-2] and Peter. Abraham was the physical "rock" from which the Children of Israel were formed but Peter is to be the spiritual "Rock", the father of the New Covenant children of Israel'the universal [catholic] Church! When God changes a man's name it is an indication of a change in destiny. Simon's name change indicated God's plan for his destiny. He will be the "rock," that is a firm foundation upon which the Church will be built[Matthew 7:24-27].”

Romans 9:13 “ As it is written: "See, I lay in Zion a stone that causes men to stumble and a rock that makes them fall, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to ...
1 Peter 2: 8 and, "A stone that causes men to stumble and a rock that makes them fall." They stumble because they disobey the message--which is also what they were destined for”

Isaiah 51:1 “ "Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness, Who seek the LORD: Look to the rock from which you were hewn And to the quarry from which you were dug.”

EPH 2: 20-22
[20] Built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone:[21] In whom all the building, being framed together, groweth up into an holy temple in the Lord.[22] In whom you also are built together into an habitation of God in the Spirit."

1] And having called his twelve disciples together, he gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of diseases, and all manner of infirmities. [2] And the names of the twelve apostles are these: The first, Simon who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother, [3] James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, Philip and Bartholomew, Thomas and Matthew the publican, and James the son of Alpheus, and Thaddeus, [4] Simon the Cananean, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him. [5] These twelve Jesus sent: commanding them, saying: Go ye not into the way of the Gentiles, and into the city of the Samaritans enter ye not. [6] But go ye rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. [7] And going, preach, saying: The kingdom of heaven is at hand. [8] Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out devils:

God Bless you

Its does not matter what the Catholic Church teaches because your Salvation is not from the Catholic Church, and your Salvation is not received by being in the Catholic Church.

We are Saved by the Grace of God through the Faith God has given us.

Ephesians 2:8
[SUP]8 [/SUP]For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God

Romans 10:9-10
[SUP]9 [/SUP]that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; [SUP]10 [/SUP]for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

1 Corinthians 15:1-2
Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, [SUP]2 [/SUP]by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain.

Titus 3:4-7
[SUP]4 [/SUP]But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, [SUP]5 [/SUP]He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, [SUP]6 [/SUP]whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, [SUP]7[/SUP]so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Now the moment of Truth. Have you working4christ2 been Saved? Are you Saved? Yes or No, we do not need pages and pages of nonsense from the Catholic Church. Make your answer either Yes or No and nothing else.

So what your saying is that the bible and Jesus are wrong?????

PLEASE show me just ONE example; one place where either Yahweh or Jesus were EVER "OK" of, tolerated, accepted, ignored, or permitted OTHER Christian Faiths.

It is no mere coincidence that today's RCC existed for some 1,500+ YEARS before the Reformation and the Landsat of COMPETING Christian Faiths,

God Bless you my friend

Again you ramble on working4christ2. Will you ever answer the question posed to you?

Actually the Catholic Church did not appear until the 3rd Century A.D. There is only one Faith and Catholicism is a false faith.

Just look at the Catholic Church. Charging people thousands of dollars just to be forgiven of their sins. Declaring Mary as God, just so they can justify their Worshiping of Mary as their God.

What i am saying is the Catholic Church is wrong and Jesus and the Scriptures are right. What i am saying is the Catholic Church is a false Religion that Worships Mary as their God.

Your last statement is an impossibility; provable biblically and historically

So WHAT is the question I failed to answer?

Exodus 20:3-5
[SUP]3 [/SUP]“You shall have no other gods before Me.

[SUP]4 [/SUP]“You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth.[SUP]5 [/SUP]You shall not worship them or serve them;

A Statue of Mary is an Idol. A painted picture of Mary is an Idol.

On you knees before a statue of Mary repeating the Hail Mary over and over again is Pagan Worshiping of Mary as your God. On you knees before a painted picture of Mary repeating the Hail Mary over and over again is Pagan Worshiping of Mary as your God. The very act of Praying the Hail Mary to Mary is a sin.

Mary is dead and in the Grave, she cannot hear nor answer your Prayers because she is a mortal person, not God. Only God can hear our Prayers to Him. Only God can answer our Prayer to Him. By claiming Mary can hear and answer our Prayers you are making Mary equal to God.

Do you see how the Catholic Church has deceived you working4christ2? They have deceived you to the point that you have no Salvation, that you have not been saved yet and you are Worshiping Demons as your god.

You are on the broad and wide road that leads to destruction. Every Catholic who Prays to Mary cannot be called a Child of God and this also includes Pope Francis. Even Pope Francis is doomed to spend Eternity in the Lake of Fire with Satan and his angles.

John.1: 40 to 42 “ One of the two who heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. He first found his brother Simon, and said to him, "We have found the Messiah" (which means Christ). He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him, and said, "So you are Simon the son of John? You shall be called Cephas" (which means Peter). [WHICH MEANS ROCK]

"You're" position is historically and biblically indefensible my friend.

Those men do not point to themselves, but to Jesus.
Too bad you are stuck on pointing to the men. The Rock is always God,
and I gave many Scriptures to defend my position, so you are simply
being dishonest to repeatedly claim otherwise.

Jesus said, “You are Peter (petros) and on this rock (petra) I will build my church.”

Jesus is Petra, not Petros. Peter is not Petra.
