On a suggestion from a friend of mine I started watching this series.

So...I have thoughts but wanted to hear yours on the subject.

What do you think of the series?

I'm wary of The Chosen simply because the world likes and supports it too much (God has never been all that popular with the world to begin with). I'm wondering why Satan isn't opposing it too.

There was another member here who said that Greeks turned Christianity into a philosophy and Americans turned it into a business but i think he is wrong because i think it's mainly the Protestants who have turned Christianity into a philosophy if you try to approach it on right/wrong basis (which you shouldn't).

A few Protestants don't like miracles, anything physical or real in relation to being grateful to God or anything that they think doesn't fit their theology.
It's very strange how to think of God on a purely thought-based or philosophical level while you find yourself in a material level. Very strange. Basically anything is an idol in the material level so you have to think of God only on a thought-based level while ignoring that God has created you in a physical world. And this rule applies to anything except the Bible.
To an outside observer you might seem like you're worshipping a book, just like Protestants think that Catholics are worshipping an icon.
While this isn't true in either camp, sometimes it is true. Some Catholics are confused and do worship icons while some Protestants do worship a Book and ignore that they live in a physical world.

Anyway, just my ramblings for the day. :)
God bless you all and Happy Eastern.

The John 3:16 scene with the Lord Jesus speaking to Nicodemus about the necessity of being Born Again is Awesome:

You have changed the wording of John 3:16, by changing the word "beleiveth" to "will believe".

If a person believes in spiritual things, they have already been born spiritually. Believing in spiritual things is not something that the natural man, before he has been born again will believe in (1 Cor 2:14). So John 3:16 is referencing the born again believers.

I see Peter as the guy who worried more about trying to be everyone's friend AND worried about what everyone thought.

He also took a huge amount of pride in his talents as a fisherman...because he loved to go fishing. It was his favorite thing to do always. The type of nets demonstrated in the show are not accurate. But getting someone to learn to throw a net is going to be a real challenge. It is a skill. Something akin to lassoing a bull.

Like I said before. There's bennies and detractors...

I am with you. Scripture proves scripture, and if we reference other peoples input it, sometimes, will distort the truth.

He was a man of sorrows, acquainted with grief.

Season 4 of The Chosen spoke about suffering and the verse from Isaiah spoke a lot to me about the mystery of suffering.
We don't understand God's will and His thoughts are not our thoughts.

The Chosen is a prime example of the fact that people will watch anything simply because it's on TV. The popularity of the show doesn't bode well for the state of spiritual health or awareness on the part of modern "Christianity."

People should really look into who's behind it and their motives. If you have a shred of discernment left you might change your mind about The Chosen.
Are you naturally stupid or in try outs?

This is what you choose to post as your first on this forum?

This is a Christian forum and you shouldn't be abusive towards other forum members. Especially over some TV show.
