I can give a free gift, it does not make it cost free.

I can be given a car by my company to drive.
I have to pay tax on its value, pay for the fuel to run it, tax on using it on the road,
insurance to cover accidents. Then I have to spend time using it to go from a to b.

This gift is not cost free.

Now this is a very simple concept and occurs all over in the world, but somehow you
do not want to accept this reality because it will change your theology.

For me it demonstrates your theology is wrong, and your resistance indicates you know
this yet are unable to move.

This is emotional blindness, and comes with the territory of world views dictate behaviour,
so often will not budge because the cost is too great. It is also why agreeing with God
is so hard for man, however he appears to be, in faith or not.

What you are suggesting is like a child who tries to give away “free" lemonade for only 25 cents. But then, that's a childs reasoning......

I will go with what Paul said ...
Paul said you must choose to be a slave of obedience,
which leads to righteousness, which leads to holiness,
which leads to eternal life !!! (Romans 6:16-23)

Wake up!

"Even to this day, grace remains hard to swallow. Religiosity and moralism go down easier than free forgiveness.”
- Robert Farrar Capon
Kind of hard to swallow Grace when you have to give up pride.

Humility is one of the hardest things mankind has ever been asked to do.. Yet one will never be saved without it..

The straight and narrow gate is narrow for a reason.. and there is also a reaon FEW enter in.

Oh I see, SO you can work your way to righteousness. (no pride here)

May I ask you why Christ came, if we can be righteous ourselves? Is God really that stupid he made a mockery out of his son when he did not have to?

Peter, have you given up yet?

The NT says we absolutely must love our brothers!
Brothers as in true fellow-believers.
How many of these do we have here?

We are arguing against unbelievers, and as such, we are wasting our time.
Only the Holy Spirit can get through to them ... we cannot.
And the Holy Spirit often gives up on people after some time has past.

Thou must be referring to the dozens of verses in the NT that teach obedience-based salvation.

If not, you belong to the Laodicean church (Rev 3), which is deceived and going to hell.
Jesus says they THINK they're A-OK ... but are nothing but garbage to Him.

Believe me, garbage goes into the garbage dump!

Faith and obedience go hand in hand.

Disobedience proves Unbelief ... Hebrews 3.

You and your buddies here are unbelievers!
Hebrews 4:11 - "Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience."

Do yourself a favor and look up in the Greek Romans 6:16 and you will find out that there is no "leads to" in the text. That is "added by the translators".

It literally says obedience unto righteousness. Not that it "leads to or makes someone" righteousness.

We are the righteousness of God in Christ because of the blood of Jesus. A failure to understand this truth creates man-made religions for trying to create and maintain their own righteousness.

There are deeds of righteousness but that comes from the life of Christ inside of us - it is His righteousness.

Hebrews 4:11 - "Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience."
Hebrews 3:
[SUP]17 [/SUP]Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned,
whose corpses fell in the wilderness?
[SUP]18 [/SUP]And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest,
but to those who did not obey? [SUP]
19
[/SUP]So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

You people who are hated by God, who don't love Jesus, who are not His friend
... do not obey Him ... and think you will be welcome in Heaven?
What idiocy!

The art of following faith

The only way people will see Jesus is when they embrace all Jesus says.

My experience on cc, in talking is suddenly a phrase makes sense because it is now countering
a particular argument, or view, and bringing it into perspective. To just see the answer in the
gospels sometimes makes it look extreme, but it is because it is not with what it is answering.

So "Hate your family" is about breaking ties and respect because these people will dishonour
righteousness and God, and you have a choice, stay with them and abandon God, or reject
them and walk with the Lord.

Being chosen and not acknowledging Christs words and example. We can easily walk in
fantastic things, but not give up an issue or position. It puts in jeopardy everything we
have gained because we do not understand the inter-connectedness of the ideas and authority.

One issue can slowly blind us and overturn everything, so we end up in a worse place than
we first begun. It is why each idea and context needs to be carefully handled, and then when
all is considered put into place.

When everything becomes subservient to an external framework which ignores the majority
of the faith itself, we have got into heresy. With a good heart and an honest conscience
the Lord can deliver us, but we need to listen and follow.

We must be perfect like our Father, in loving our enemies. We must not go with something
our faith bans. We must be open and honest and walk with a clear conscience.

But our enemies will disagree with these points, which shows who they truly are.

This situation should be no surprise when scripture is not honoured and the doors to
salvation are pushed wide to accept anyone and everything as long as they claim
faith in Jesus, everything is going to sound christian, but be very different.

so we see a spiritual truth.

1. They did not enter rest, Because they did not have faith (no faith, no salvation)
2. Because they did not have faith, they were not made righteous
3. Because they were not made righteous they acted like their true nature (they did not obey)

It is all very simple. and matches what Jesus said when he walked the earth.

He who BELIEVES HAS ETERNAL LIFE

He who DOES NOT BELIEVE shall not see life, BUT THE WRATH OF GOD ABIDES IN HIM./

how can one obey when they have no faiht, and the wrath of God abides? THEY CAN'T

John 14:15 • “If you love Me, keep My commandments.”
John 14:21 • “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me.”
John 14:23 • “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him”
John 14:24 • “He who does not love Me does not keep My words”
John 15:14 • “You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.”
Does anyone get to heaven …
who does not love Jesus, who is not His friend, who does not keep His commandments?

James 1 (NKJV):
[SUP]12[/SUP] Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved,
he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.
[SUP]14[/SUP] But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.
[SUP]15[/SUP] Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin;
and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth (eternal) death.
[SUP]16[/SUP] Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.

James is warning these beloved brethren (1:16) …
Believers who love Jesus will overcome the temptation to sin, and thus will be approved,
and receive the crown of (eternal) life … instead of earning eternal death.

He is echoing Paul’s warning in Romans 6 …
Believers must choose to be slaves of obedience, which leads to righteousness and holiness,
instead of choosing to be slaves of sin … which leads to eternal death.

There are 2 opposites above in James 1 …
Overcoming sinning >> the crown of life
… compared to … Sinning >> eternal death

“The believer who perseveres will receive the crown of life.
The ‘crown of life’ is the crown of victory over sin, or the crown of victory in our life’s race.
The main meaning of the crown of life is salvation, or eternal life.”
… The Applied New Testament Commentary -- Thomas Hale, 1996, ChariotVictor Publishing
(Dr. Hale is a Spirit-filled believer who served as a medical missionary with Interserve in Nepal.)

Revelation 2 (NKJV):
[SUP]10[/SUP] … Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
[SUP]11[/SUP] He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.

Jesus considers being “faithful” has to do with overcoming sin, etc. (see Revelation 3:21).
He certainly does not define an overcomer as one who believes He is the Son of God.
The second death is being cast into the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:14 and 21:8).

There are 2 opposites above in Revelation 2 …
Being faithful until death >> the crown of life
… vs … Not overcoming >> eternal death!

“Above all, the church at Smyrna needed encouragement and strength to endure persecution.
If they remained firm to the end – to the point of death – they would receive the crown of life,
that is, eternal life (see Mark 13:13, 1 Cor 9:25, 1 Pet 5:4) … The second death mentioned here
means eternal death; it is the final punishment for all evildoers.”
… The Applied New Testament Commentary -- Thomas Hale, 1996, ChariotVictor Publishing

Please notice that there are NO crowns (plural) mentioned anywhere above!
No different crowns of varying values … re: rewards.
When it comes to the crown of life, there is only one … the crown of eternal life!

The crown of life is also called the crown of righteousness • 2 Timothy 4:7-8
The crown of life is also called the imperishable crown • 1 Corinthians 9:24-27
The crown of life is also called the crown of glory • 1 Peter 5:1-4

Revelation 3:11 (NKJV) “Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.”

Definitely not Happy Holidays! … but … Merry Christmas

The Commandments of Jesus must not be confused with the “Ten Commandments” in the Old Testament.*

Jesus said, "If ye love me, keep my commandments," (John 14:15, KJV).*

What does Jesus command us to do?

That unbelief is manifested in not believing what God has said about His Son - the Lord Jesus Christ.

Being dis-obedient is trying to maintain and create our own righteousness by what "we do". That is called "works-righteousness". The true Christian lives by "faith-righteousness" in what Christ has already done by His blood and life.

The classic error in works-based mindsets is seen by the Jews as Paul talks about in Romans 10.

Romans 10:2-4 (NASB)
[SUP]2 [/SUP] For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not in accordance with knowledge.

[SUP]3[/SUP] For not knowing about God's righteousness and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.

[SUP]4 [/SUP] For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

Notice that true righteousness comes by those "who believe" - "not do" - there will be deeds of righteousness but they flow out of us because of the righteousness that we have in Him. Christ alone is our righteousness.

Get this wrong and we have created a man-made religion which actually denies the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Abraham believed, was Counted righteousness then did a work to show or prove his faith... Circumcisions.... Beginning of Romans is quite clear

My brother, there is never a giving up but refining the points of argument.

The best way to practice is to use as many different approaches, to talk them through
and then to summarise them.

Some will concepts will appear very similar to your enemy, but some will be like a light
shinning. They will all assume something behind the scenes, which will appear out of
reach until it comes front and centre.

1. Walking with Christ is cost free
2. Being righteous in behaviour is sinful pride
3. Fear is sin and lack of trust in Christ
4. Unbelief is not accepting you do not need to respond to Christ
5. Legalism is focusing on anything to do with behaviour
6. Slander is upsetting someone no matter how true it is
7. Our goal is dependency on Christ not becoming like Him
8. Questioning the teachers of the movement is rebellion and sin

Now to define these points or even discover them is their true ethical framework.
Once exposed, it becomes obvious this is not a christian group.

So only by continual interaction and watching what they respond to, and what they
ignore demonstrates their true allegiance.

Now there are some similar views between the parties, but I am primarily interested
in documenting the differences and why they radically change their faith from ours.

Yes, Abraham was saved before he did one work.

His work PROVED his faith was real.. It did not have a thing to do with his salvation, He was already declared righteous before God the MOMENT he had faith.

It has to do with ours tho.. if you think works don't apply to prove faith.. then u have none

Unbelief is not accepting you do not need to respond to Christ

G7 and EG continually have called me to repent. I have asked what of.
It has taken me a year to finally understand what they mean.

To them all sin is forgiven except unbelief. So you only go to hell because
of unbelief.

Now belief is believing in Christ dying for our sins.

Unbelief that cancels this belief out, is trying to respond, which is adding to
the work of Christ, therefore a denial that Christ has done enough alone, so is
therefore unbelief. And as unbelief is sin, and you need to agree with God He
has done enough, and then everything is ok.

Now this is actually very convoluted, but it makes sense in a way. The unfortunate
thing is it is down to the believer to say whether it is Christ working in them changing
them or themselves doing it, which is sinful. This ambivalence means it is better to do
nothing, and not loose your salvation through unbelief, except they claim this is impossible,
except ofcourse for everyone who is actually following Christ and walking in obedience
because he told them to.

But then proof and argument are not the reason people are here in this position.
It is because they know Christ and His promise, but through legalism failed to walk in it.
So the compromise is, the failure does not matter, it is unbelief to accept it does.
