Well, I missed this completely. Lol

I think I better stick to what I know. History gives me a headache. Literally. So back to word studies. :) and reading from you guys.
I hated history at school - trying to remember the date of the Battle of Hastings and what Willie the Conqueror got up to.

I didn't even turn up for the final exam when leaving school - I knew I'd have failed anyway.

Nobody in their right mind denies the fact that Jerusalem was destroyed by the Romans under Titus due to their rebellion and rejection of JESUS....
.

Yes, but many do not see it in the scriptures,

And there is pre trib's that say that the abomination did not happen at that time.

it is also equally clear that Revelation is NOT about that destruction
But some mention of it is made.

The 7 seals tell the story of Israel (natural branches), from the rejection of the gospel kingdom, until the dest of Jeru was complete.

Then the 7 trumpets tell the story to the rapt/resur.

That is the end of the passage about the little scroll.

After that, it begins explaining the relationship between the Roman beast and Israel.

and that Revelation is the REVEALING of JESUS as GOD at the end of the age and the circumstances that surround the event........
The age spoken of in Matt 24, etc, is the end of the temple age in 70 AD, shown by the parallel passage of Lk 21:20-24.

But the 7th trumpet is different, it shows Jesus coming for the kingdom at the rapt/resur. and is parallel to the stone striking in Daniel 2.

It is showing the end of this planet.

The stage set
I totally agree, but maybe for different scriptural reasons.

The near total destruction of the world and humanity
Gen 1:28, Man has now subdued the earth and filled the earth. He has polluted it to the point of extinction.

The attempted destruction of the Israel and the Jews
1900 years, but now the final countdown. Jerusalem will fall to the kings of the east, across the EUPHRATES RIVER, EUPHRATES RIVER, THE 6TH TRUMPET, WAKE UP.

Then the 7th trumpet.

The attempted destruction of the Lord's churches
The iron Roman dragon beast has always done that, 1900 years.

The attempted total suppression of all truth
Spiritual truths Yes.

The responses of men, creation and God
There have always people who reject God.

The lights turned off
The spiritual light of God's Word is diminished, OT, due to persecution and the withdrawing of God's blessings.

The heavens ripped open to reveal JESUS as GOD to humanity
When Jerusalem fell in 70 AD, every Israelite knew that it was because Jesus was the Messiah king and Lord.

It's not about planet earth, it's about Israel, the world of Israel.

The ingathering of the saints/elect
Jesus coming for the kingdom at the 7th trumpet, after that, it is the end 1 Cor 15:23-28, 23-24.

The protection of Israel and national salvation when they look upon JESUS
This was fulfilled at the cross, confirmed in John 19:37.

The wrath of God upon humanity that has been gathered under the beast and false prophet in total rebellion and denial of the one true God while embracing the false little puny god of this age.
This planet ends in fire.

I do think you are on the right trail.

Really? Maybe if I quit stressing over interpretation and just rest in letting Him lead, I can go on. That's what I would tell someone, so will do it.

Thanks for the encouragement Willie.

im not gonan waste my time reading that josephus guy but can someone confirm if he does really mention the temple being defaced as one uce said?

If one is a good student of the Bible, they try to read as much as possible about the Historical times surrounding the Bible. There are many non-conical books that bring light on the culture, language, etc. of the times. The Bible even mentions one or two.

How were Augustine and Constantine different? They were both leaders! What Kind? How did they affect Christians and Jews during their reign of power?,,,,,,etc.

ABCDEF you do have an imagination. Daniel's tell us the antichrist will come from the people of the prince who destroyed Jerusalem in 70 AD. The prince was General Titus Flavius Vespasian of the Roman Army of the eastern leg of the Roman Army, The western leg falls apart in the near future and the eastern part survives another 1000 years. The people of this army made of people who no doubt live in the area. Micah 5:5 tells the antichrist will be an Assyrian which is where King Nimrod came from. If this happened to day, a Leader from ISIS would be suspect but it is not today Yet.

Anyway the Antichrist will come out of the land of Nimrod.

The passage mentions the birth of Jesus in v 2. So the prophecy would be connected to that time period.

The 7 shepherds mentioned in v 5, are thought to be the Maccabees. That would place this prophecy fulfilled just before Jesus was born.

--

The Antichrist is Roman, He is the leader of the 4th beast of Daniel 7.

Jesus tells us: When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, standing where it ought not; know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.
The Enemies of Christ (Muslims) have no business controlling Abram and Isaac's Rock.

When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

Don't believe I would be calling the "Dome of the Rock" a holy place...... THat is dangerous ground to be on.

The abomination that makes desolate is the placement of the image of the beast....the same one given power by the 2nd beast to both speak and cause as many that will not worship the image to be killed by having their heads whacked off......JEWS were crucified ONLY ROMAN citizens were afforded the right to be beheaded.......
Just looking at the words in Rev. It says something that stinks, and lays waste, placed upright where it should not be.

Looking at Daniel, it is a man given the heart of the beast. Looking at beast it is life revived. Like the man was dead but revived. A false Messiah, or picture of the opposite of Him.

And he the beast, represents 4 kingdoms. Am thinking of that scripture of a man with 4 Faces. Will try to find. And it's not the same..dead end.

It sounds like someone who was dead, stunk, but revived, and stands upright where he does not belong. In charge of 4 nations? Is there anyone on the scene now with 4 under his rule? I thought Russia was the bear symbol.

And I know there is something about a man who is dead and revived. So all this goes with what you are saying Dcon.

Except what about the other two? Or is it more than one beast?

Now this has my attention. :) will look at beast. Love this kind of thing. What do you all see by looking?

The gentile nations do not have any military rule or control over any part of Jerusalem.

Israel can, and has, closed down the area many times before.

Since 1967 the area has been accessed only with permission from Israel's authorities.

The 4 beast nations of Dan. 7, are the same 4 nations as the statue in Dan. 2.

Going back to the 4 faces. There are the living creatures that come from God. Their faces each are in some way representative of God. The ox symbol in Hebrew is Father. The eagle is representative of Holy Spirit. The Lion, is the Lion of Judah, the Son, and the face of a man.

Opposite to the false...the lion, the leopard, the fowl, and man, the beast nature opposite the godly man. Destructive. Is this how the world will know who to follow in future events? Or has this happened?

The destructive man changed to the godly? Just throwing it out. It's just what I see with symbols, but may be relevant in this post of decons. :)

May not be relevant. Forgot not.

You know, abc, maybe Daniel 2 isn't showing nations but the character of the false one through Neb!

Head being gold does represent God. Silver, redemptive power, but brass, a hissing, the red throat of a serpent, and iron, cutting, piercing- makes me think of a sword.

And we all know who the stone is cut out of the mountain.

Thats very enlightening. When the living creatures call to the horses, is there a different face calling? I was thinking that if so, it could tie into the mission of the horse.

So many ways one can go with Revelations.

Thank you for your post:)

The 42 months and the 1260 days are symbolic numbers.

Together they make a symbolic 7 times.

Notice that it never says "7 YEARS", it's saying 7 TIMES, 2 parts of 3 1/2 times.

The history of the 7 times is found in Daniel 4:4-37, 25.

The king is to be as an animal for 7 times. But it never says exactly how long the 7 times is, according to the time of men.

It is an undetermined amount by men, but a time period set by God.

It could have been 7 wks, 5 wks, 3 wks, or 200 days, it doesn't say.

The times are referred to as months and days in the Rev, to show that the woman of Rev 12, and the 2 witness are the same time period. the second 3 1/2 times, 70 ad until 1967.

Yes, In Daniel 2, see the statue of the gentile nations that rule over Israel (people) until they are restored to military control over Jerusalem.

The 4 gentile nations rule Israel for 1000's of years.

The same 4 gentile nations are paralleled in Daniel 7 as 4 beasts.

The legs/toes of iron, are also the 4th beast.

The 4th beast is given power over Israel for 3 1/2 times v 25.

But we see in the passage of Daniel 2, that Rome rules for 2000 years. From 67 BC, until Israel is restored to military control over Jerusalem, 1967.

So the rule of the iron, Roman Empire, lasts far longer than 7 years or 3 1/2 years.

The rule of Caesar over Israel has been 2000 years.

--

The 7 times equal the same time as shown in the statue in Daniel 2.

The first 3 1/2 times, is from Babylon until 70 AD.

The second 3 1/2 times is from 70 AD, until 1967.

Then the 7 times, the time that the gentile nations rule over Israel, is over.

Rev 17:18, The beast is a city, that the woman (false religion) sits on.

The city that ruled over the kings of Israel at that time was Rome.

The city that has 7 hills/mountains is Rome. Rev 17:9.

The Antichrist is Caesar, And the image of Caesar, for the last 1500 yrs has been the Bishop of Rome (Vatican).

Rome attacked Israel, both natural and wild branches.

---

The "wrath of God", is God withdrawing His love, blessings, and protection over the natural branches, for rejecting the gospel kingdom. Then the evil comes "flooding in".

The seals/trumpets, show that the natural branches are suffering for being "cut off" from God and His blessings. Their relationship with God is shown as the events of the seals and trumpets. The things shown happen to Israel, not the whole planet, Israel is the center.

Rome and the gentile nations are seen attacking Israel, but the spiritual relationship of Israel with God is shown also in the events.
So you believe first 42 months of tribulation happen from 67 to 70 and we are in the second 42 months of tribulation

tbe bible say, in the last 42 months of tribulation, if one not accept mark of the beast, 666 they not able to buy and sale.

why we still able to buy a food now?

King Neb., is the head of gold Dan. 2:38, and the gold represents the Kingdom of Babylon.

The other metals represent kingdoms that rise after that Dan. 2:39-40.

They are usually thought of as Media/Persia as the silver, Greece as the brass, and Rome as the iron.
