Do what?

I am justifed freely by the blood of Christ which has washed all my sin.

I have the ability to enter his rest BECAUSE I was justified. But I have to work for it. If I do not work hard enough, i will never enter his rest, and lose many rewards, but I am STILL justified freely.

Romans 3:24
and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

so why are you still trying to work to earn justification, when it was paid for (redeemed) by Christ?
So am I :)

He said we reject the leading of the spirit. When reality is we can't.

He leads the right way, but we do not always chose to follow him.
*shaking head*

The areas I underlined appears to me to be a contradiction. Rather than be abrasive and call you out on it, I simply asked if anyone else sees the contradiction. By no means was I attempting to lead anyone on or imply something that was not intended. If a person saw the contradiction they did so on their own without my help.

YES, the sentences say two different things, the Lord leads, we are to follow. It's all Him, not one bit us :)

Nice ! I don't call you catchfyre for nothing :)

Does anyone else see the contradiction above?

Scripture states that when one chooses to follow the Spirit then one need not fulfill the lusts of the flesh (Gal. 5, Rom. 8). When one sins, one is clearly not following the lead of the Holy Spirit, proof positive that the choice whether or not to follow the Spirit is ours to make.

Since one can choose to ignore the leading of the Holy Spirit resulting in sin, could one choose to willingly refuse to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit resulting in a reprobate heart & mind? (See Romans 1)
Hey Crossfire help me out here where did I post what you say I posted I Iooked back at the two post I do not see this

did I say you or do you include yourself in the they I said?

and I might add. He said we reject the leading of the spirit. When reality is we can't.

he leads the right way, but we do not always chose to follow him.

when we get off the path, he is grieved, but does not leave us, but he chastens us to bring us back on path.

either way he leads us, 100 % of the time, from the moment we recieve him, to the moment we die and enter eternity.

Please tell me what post where I said this and is it qouted in context the whole post or what thanks Homwardbound I am

Eg, doesn't one rest only after a race is won?

So, are you perfect in Him when you enter His 'rest?'

You are trying to tell us, aren't you that we can enter His rest on earth. Israelites never entered His 'rest' on earth, right. Even though, Scripture is clear some who obeyed the Law went to Heaven some did not.

'Rest' is what then?

It would only be a contradiction if we through out the meaning of reject. Which was my point, not to mention that fact you totally ignored the rest of what I said, which proved through chastening, we will return to his leading. Which also proves we can't reject his leading.

It is called picking and chosing things. I can make th ebible say anything I want it to by picking a few parts of a passage which appear to be saying something else. Which is what you did to me, it is a sly trick. and should not be stood for by anyone.

No they don't. Reject is outright refusal to follow because you reject the person. Cosing to chose flesh over the spirit from time to time does not in ANY WAY imply one rejects the spirit. This is rediculous we are even having this conversation.

Rest is when your everyday worries and fears go away. When you can get like paul and consider tribulation, no matter how severe, a momentary light affliction. I have entered his rest in some areas of my life. others I struggle. I will not be fully in his rest however, until I am ressurected. So, like paul, I continue to run, and never think I made it.

Does God make it so only those who are perfected and fully in his rest are saved? There would not be any who would make it to heaven, because who gets there? As I showed earlier. Paul said he continues to run (he never sat still) and how can we say we are greater than paul>> If he could not make it, who can?

I guess I have to ask you then, and the 2 who "liked" what you said:

Do you sin? (apparently meaning you've chosen to "ignore the leading of the Spirit", [which should have resulted] in a reprobate heart & mind", when you sinned yesterday, and today). Saying one doesn't sin is a lie, and therefore proof one is a sinner.

This simple question is asked of all 3.

Do you sin?

The LORD replied, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." - Exodus 33:14

And the LORD gave them rest on every side, according to all that He had sworn to their fathers, and no one of all their enemies stood before them; the LORD gave all their enemies into their hand. - Joshua 21:44

To those who feel the OSAS is a false doctrine, a question, do you feel those who embrace OSAS are false teachers and not of the faith. A simple yes or no who suffice.

Not in the way you may be referring..does one still live in a carnal flesh body here on earth? Yes, does this flesh have it's tendencies? yes..does that excuse us from doing anything about it? No! See, a misappropiation of OSAS aka God's got me(No responsibility on behalf of the one who believes, simply believe) can easily cause one to not be critically working on this process of Sanctification, which i have pointed out before is with God's help..
what do you say in the light of 1 John 3:7-10 where it clearly says the person who practices righteousness is righteous, and the one who practices sin is not righteousness..meaning we forfeit the practice of sin, the 'practice' or lifestyle has been abandoned..numerous passages in ephesians,collosians..other places talk about putting down/mortifying these members of the flesh, even romans 13:14 says in one translation to dress yourself in 'Jesus', another says to put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh. Yes, if we are not carefull we can make provision, i myself know my tendencies that is why we must ever be more vigilant while we can, as Sinfull tendencies of the flesh does not elminate responsibility to live a moral life. As 1 thessallonians 4:7 says God has not called us unto uncleanliness but in holiness(right living in other words) So we cannot/should not be doing these things repeatedly. If you are not progressing, getting better..if sanctification is not a matter of importance to you, then i ask you..why isn't it? I must also ask you, does the fact that you may have sinned give a reason to throw up your hands and say i give up? No, it does not..because if you truly love your father in heaven, you will aim to please him..just like we here love our earthly fathers and sought/seek to please them, and do right in their eyes..how much more to God in heaven?
Ezekiel 18 also clearly addresses this issue, that he who did wicked things and turns from them..he will surely live, and he who does righteousness and then turns away from righteousness to do wicked things, for these things he will die, and none of his good deeds will be remembered..verse 24

I agree, it shows they made a mountain out of a molehill and tried to show a contradiction when their was non. And shows, since they still sin, they to (according to their own definition, not ours) reject the leading of the spirit.

I do not know each proponent of OSAS/God's got me/no responsibillity gospel..but i know this, you either are walking with God or not..so be you a calvinist, arminian, catholic or protestant, OSAS proponent or OSAS opponent..You either are working out your savlation with fear and trembling or you are not..and this OSAS message can easily lead people to believe there is no pressure on their behalf..even those who do not adhere to OSAS will take the parts they like in it, the whole God loves, accepts you..is with you..and you need not worry, prosperty preachers..other churches will implement these factors of the believe that its all God and not you..
what did deuteronomy 30:19 say? therefore choose life so that you and your seed may live! Why would God give you a command if its all on him and none on you? It would be written differently, moreso like, Therefore I will make you choose life, and you cannot choose otherwise because you are in my control' No, he wants you to walk with him..talk with him..ask him for help, but then have the faith that has works working with that and then you can live this life. Did Abraham not obey God by placing Issac on the altar? Would him simply telling God, I believe..be sufficient? No! His faith needed to be acted out as well, to prove he was in the faith.
So if you advocate living for God and walking this walk, then you are right..if you are advocating spiritual lethargy and no responsibility(that does not mean we will never slip up, but does not eliminate the need to keep working out our salvation) Then i will say you are teaching 'another Gospel'

So..tell me this..
have enough sincerity and be genuine enough to say it..

if you believe you have no responsibility and can be lazy in your walk..or can do horrendous things unrepentant until you die and be saved, simply say this is what you believe.

Simply say what you believe, do not hide it..since you think you know we opponents of OSAS are about, which you do not..we never said we are perfect..we aim for perfection, i will aim for perfection not being bothered by my flesh battles and fight harder and harder till i die. And you can keep on just 'believing' and we will see who truly makes it to the finish line..i hope you do as well as I, Because it's God's will that none should be destroyed..but all to change their hearts and lives(Not simply have a good theology, church membership and nice church family, its not enough)
2 peter 3:9
