The Gift of Salvation is He who Gave His life for the sins of the world. And we receive Him as we receive a gift...freely.
Believing that He performed the Gift and gave it to us is what justifies us by faith. You could not even receive Him unless the Gift was performed first.

So, all this rhetoric and it has been 10 hours since I asked the question and not a single person can either describe what the Gift is or state it. Amazing. Considering it is the Gift that we must believe He performed in order to be justified by faith.
What in the world are you believing. What are you being saved from? After all, salvation means to be saved from something.
What did Christ do that we cannot do? Obviously, if we could, we would not need Christ.

I believe Jesus is the GIFT that incorporates all the other gifts....

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
(Joh 3:16)

Jesus answered her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, 'Give me a drink,' you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water."
(Joh 4:10)

Ok, for now, it is acceptable. Interesting to see what other answers show up. I'll comment later on any others that are submmitted.

This is getting very interesting. This thread has gone for 343 pages on the subject of "The Gift of Salvation" and it seems no one even understands what is the Gift. Very telling.

Well, does this suggest that YOU have PERFECT UNDERSTANDING? If so, why not enlighten us of the unwashed masses....

Every Christian from the very beginning from Pentecost would have known this and understood it. It was taught and practiced from the beginning. I don't claim any special understanding, except I was taught the Gospel as it has been believed, practiced from the beignning without change.

I would have assumed that at least some Protestants would have been enlightened as to what Christ did for us and why.
So, do you know what the Gift might be.

Seems you all need some help. I'll state them with as few words as possible and then see if anyone can grasp what the meat of the Gift of Salvation might be.

One said Christ is the agent of the Gift. What did He do for us that we could not do?

Sacrifice and life.
