The law is like the x-ray machine at the hospital. It can show you the disease but it cannot cure the disease. Only grace can cure the disease.

Christ was under the law of commandments .....what are the sinful lust it produced in him???? if the law produces sin then it is evil ...is the law evil???
if the commandment produces sinful lust and God gave the commandment...you are saying God gave you something to make you sin and now blames you for that sin...do you ever think things thorough before you write...Do you ask God for wisdom to understand the word....do you believe the spirit of God teaches us the scripture...do you believe the HS has made you a witness to all the works of Christ???
Come on are you guys really so far from the truth of Christ that you cannot understand that Christ had no sin to be stirred up? And the bible tells us the purpose of the law ....and its effects...can you not read clear and evident words?

Ro 7:6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.
7 ¶ What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
8 But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of (evil desire)concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.
9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.

you by your words are saying men are under the law....because they believe the law is not destroyed....if the law is destroyed what law do you put them under???
Christians are under the law of Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. We're under a different law where our faith is counted for righteousness, Rom 4:5.

And as for a Christian's imperfect physical body, that's already dead (by faith, crucified with Christ, Rom 6:6) because of sin, Rom 8:10.

Legalists, however, remain under the law of sin and death. Thus they are under the jurisdiction of that law, Rom 3:19. Thereby they make themselves a sinner, Gal 2:18.

This is my understanding of the law as well. The law is the standard and the deviations that are detected are underlying sin that is removed by grace for forgiveness. Without the law there can be no sin.

I did not make anything up, as you can tell by what you highlighted in that verse.
If your sins are unrepented and unconfessed then you are still walking in uncleanness and not holiness. You are impure as Paul told Timothy , and then Paul said no impure person will inherit the kingdom of heaven.
Kenneth, you continue to ignore those scriptures I quoted explaining how Christians were purified (believe on Jesus, 1John 3:3).

For you, purity is remains under the law of sin and death and keeping one's sin ledger perfectly balanced with confessions.
such a doctrine is unbelief.

You need to learn how to discern between warning and judging.
Paul's warnings were not just for unbelievers that were not under grace. A lot of the time his warnings were given to believers who were under grace, as he clearly says because you are under grace should we continue to sin.

Certainly Not !!!!

Paul put emphasis on that certainly not part because he knew the dangers sin does to a believer.
You continue to say that sin can not be imputed on a believer, yet Paul says differently. Which is why I continue to debate with you to get you to see the truth.
Once again I will ask you;

Do you Mitspa confess your sins to the Lord when you commit them ?
The strength of sin, is the law...of course those under the law are slaves of sin. The power over sin is the grace of God...we are slaves of righteousness. You guys cannot understand the Divine Nature of God , and all you can understand is that others must desire to sin, like you guys do. You think because you have a lust issue that others must have lust issues ...that because you feel condemned you must condemn others.

Ok here sounds like an honest place to talk about the truth...We have been set free from the law of Moses....we cannot sin against the law of Moses...anymore than we can sin as US citizens in the USA against the law of Mexico.... But we have New Covenant laws of life...faith and love in the Spirit....we can "sin" ...(miss the mark) against these laws of life.

I would also add that only by keep the New Covenant Laws of life are the types and shadows of the law of Moses fulfilled in us.

Simply ONLY LOVE keeps what the law demanded anyway....so why teach anything but love? If folks are really wanting to see the law fulfilled?

No it means the commandments produce sinful lust in those under the law...."the strength of sin is the law"...read it again and pay attention!
are you retracting your statement??? you said nothing about stirring up....so does the commandment produce sinful lust or not???

under the law of the Spirit do you now make the other law void?

And as for a Christian's imperfect physical body, that's already dead (by faith, crucified with Christ, Rom 6:6) because of sin, Rom 8:10.
this body that is dead by faith...can you commit sin with it and escape the penalty of the law?
Legalists, however, remain under the law of sin and death. Thus they are under the jurisdiction of that law, Rom 3:19. Thereby they make themselves a sinner, Gal 2:18.
you are contending that one who is under the law of the Spirit and does not make the law void....is dead to the flesh and does not sin.....and if they do sin they confess them...are legalists ...and make themselves sinners????

Because the Apostle Paul warned believers what effect sin can still have on them, and we are told to do the same.
Plus the bible does say the Holy Spirit will convict you if and when you sin.

[h=1]Hebrews 12:5-8[/h]5 And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons:
“My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord,
Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him;
6 For whom the Lord loves He chastens,
And scourges every son whom He receives.”

7 If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? 8 But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons.

Here the writer of Hebrews says that if you do not feel the chastening or rebuking from the Holy Spirit when you sin then you are illegitimate, and not children of God. Then Paul says after you feel this conviction it will lead to;

2 Corinthians 7:9
Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that you sorrowed to repentance: for you were made sorry after a godly manner, that you might suffer loss by us in nothing

We don't need to know why you say we confess, all we have to do is go by what the bible says in 1 John 1:8-10 and 1 John 2:1.

No all we have been doing, or at least me, is say that we keep and follow the Lords commandments out of love for Him.
That is what the bible teaches.
The other thing we have done is ask you questions that you refuse to answer, are you hiding something or just don't know the answer. So I will ask you again;

Do you Mitspa confess your sins to the Lord when you commit them ?

come on Mitspa...you are the one saying....

Look this is not complicated....the law stirs sin up in the flesh ...Now Christ had no sin to stir-up...In fact He was the God who wrote the law Himself... Now the law clearly "produces sinful passions in those under the law" it is the strength of sin... So all under the law are in effect a slave to sin. Read it again, you not trying to hear the truth!

I have already done a thread on that topic and explained how and why a believer confesses....read it ! But the topic here is law and grace .

So once again you do not answer yes or no.
This is all I asked, for you have said previously in this thread we are not under the law therefore sin can no longer be imputed on you. Meaning there is no need for you to confess. The bible says there is still a need for the believer to confess. So a yes or no answer would suffice. Do you still confess your sins ?

Well I have already answered ... and as far as I know you don't decide how or when I must answer? So lets stay on the topic or go to that thread and we can discuss the issue there.

I ask you a simple question and you keep spewing rubbish....you say
Now the law clearly "produces sinful passions in those under the law"
We agree Christ had no sin to stir up....
but you say the law produces sinful passions in those under the law...Christ was under the law...was he not??what are the sinful passions produced in Christ...this is the comment I am concerned about...either you show me the sinful passion the law produced in Christ or retract your statement...
by your statement you are blaming the one who wrote the law for sin...since you claim the law produces sin....you are insinuating that the law made you steal because it says thou shall not steal....that is just sick by any standard Mitspa....

Well read the scripture and believe Gods Word and you will be able to see what is written in clear and evident words....If that don't convince you then nothing I can say in my own words will.....read it again, the truth don't change just because you don't like it!
