I learn more about Christ every day I hope and I usually learn by God revealing to me how unChristlike something is that I've said or done. None of us have reached full maturity in Christ. We ought to be helping each other to grow and not looking to put our boot in the groin of someone who stumbles and falls. I'm literally shaking my head while I'm typing. Things are so backwards that it's scary.
It's illustrative of how bad we really do need Jesus...... I'm not playing some victim here either. I determined that when I saw where this thread was going that I was not gonna take anything said personally. In fact....me and Jesus had several conversations about that..... and He filled me with hope.

Then just tell him as much no matter how he responds. We're all ultimately accountable for our own actions and not other peoples' reactions.
I was gonna give it a bit in here and if he doesn't respond I was gonna pm him.

Well, I finished reading all the posts. I wish that I could say that it was enjoyable. Let me get out of here before somebody else gets shot for jaywalking. Seriously, chill out.

Good night.

Well Sirk. I believe you have some rewards from today that you can cast at our Lords feet.

I know there are other believers here that know this also.

You think so? I guess I never thought of it that way. I do know one thing tho....and that is that I feel connected to a lot of you and connection is what the Gospel is all about. I think this is a rare thing in this disconnected age.

I'm sorry that I popped back in when I said that I was done for the night, but I was just eating and the Lord kept bringing a verse to my mind so I came back to share it with Sirk:

Matthew chapter 12 verses 31 and 32

Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

Even if it is revealed to you at some point in time that you unintentionally blasphemed the Lord and I doubt that you did, then you can be forgiven for the same according to Jesus. Nobody here is the judgment seat of Christ, so don't let anybody here condemn you for a pardonable sin.

Now I'm done.

Good night everybody.

Again, for whatever it is worth, I believe you.

This has been a very weird day for me. Again, I never expected to be defending you today. Not that you're any worse than I am, but I had previously viewed you as being too sarcastic or satirical. In this case, I really feel that you're getting a lot more than you deserve.
That's why you were told a few days ago to stick around a while so as to see things in their proper perspective. :)

You know what teachable moments are right? I got a lot of people upset with me....so teach me something. This is where the rubber meats the road right. The sirk will either practice what he preaches or he will be shown a fraud.
I think it's possible that the lesson is this: The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

You claim that you created this thread because you use humor as a means of providing levity and possible healing for the wounded. Except this humor was used as a weapon against another person. There was someone made the butt of this joke.

The people who say, "Why can't people take a joke anymore?" "Doesn't anyone have a sense of humor?" were NOT the butt of the joke, so it's easy for them to be dismissive about it.

Essentially, what you've done is stabbed someone to take people's minds off of the fact that they've been stabbed.

There are immediate kind of revenge-based narcotic effects from this...but those fade quickly. All you end up with is another person stabbed in this whole scenario.

IMO, somebody would only need to spend about 15 minutes on this forum to see things in their proper perspective.

A lot of people here simply hate each other.

I'm not getting into strife with anybody here. I've started a few threads in which I've posted some verses and some godly examples that I've hoped that everybody, myself included, would sincerely look at and consider lest any root of bitterness defile us and we fail of the grace of God. It seems to me that many people here would rather look at all the carnage that transpires here regularly, like people tearing at each other, people deleting their own accounts and people getting banned than to look to Christ Who commanded us all to not only love our neighbors, but our enemies as well.

Have a good day.

It is human nature, plus anonymity, plus christian sanctimoniousness... ness. All mixes together like Hydrazine with an oxidizer. Anyone who takes to heart what is said here doesn't understand the nature of the internet. That we are all christians makes it worse because there is a higher expectation for us and therfore a farther inevitable fall.

Points to consider:

Not all that chooses to label itself 'christian' is indeed Christian.

Unbelievers are allowed to post on this forum.

Even believers become frustrated and say things they regret.
