And they said, Unto John's baptism.4Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. 5When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. 7And all the men were about twelve.

You just cannot grasp the "fact" that the "gift of the HS" and the "signs from the HS" and "baptism of the HS" are all NOT the same thing.

baptism of the HS is only done (able to be done) by Christ (Mark 1:8), happened only twice, once on Pentecost (Acts 2:2-4), and once to the house of Cornelius (Acts 10:44-45 (to show even the Apostles that God was not a respecter of person)) and testified to by the HS himself in the inspired writing of Matthew and Luke in the book of Acts.

The "signs of the HS" were not given to everyone who is baptized, these were ONLY given by the hand of the Apostles, this can be seen in Acts 8 where Simon who was baptized (saved) then sinned when he tried to purchase the spiritual gifts (miraculous signs) and warned by Peter to repent and ask God to forgive him (Acts 8:19-23)

Every believer that is water baptized receives the gift of the HS as did Simon in acts 8 and as Peter attests to in Acts 2:38.

You have not been able to show me where anyone other than the Apostles or the house of Cornelius have ever been baptized (immersed or dunked, overwhelmed) in the HS.

You could not tell me why if Christ baptized Cornelius (HS baptism) why Peter (who knew by inspiration that there is one saving baptism Eph. 4:5) why Peter would sin going behind Christ and baptizing (a second baptism) again Cornelius with water?

The reason Peter commanded Cornelius to be baptized by water is because water is the ONLY saving baptism, the ONLY baptism that can be administered by Christ's disciples (as commissioned in Matt 28:19 )

Matthew 28:19 (NKJV) Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

It is controversial. Catholic believe water baptism is requirement for salvation.

And Muslim include in the plan of salvation. Is Muslim doing water baptism in the name of Jesus?

All I want to know, if it was up to water, why did Paul ask them if they received the Holy Ghost, and they all said no, we did Johns baptism, AND THEY HAD NO HOLY SPIRIT....why didn't the water do it? Your so stuck on this water ritual... It did nothing for them, they needed Paul's hands put on them, a power from Jesus " , to get the Holy Spirit... They believed, did the water...and nothing... Paul comes lays hands, they get the Holy Spirit.. Done with the subject now... I need a yak back writer

Now its getting borderline foolish all the points have been made I guess they will start over now. In any wise how may will be saved or born again or even repent from wrong positions from the teachings herein this concerns me greatly. But prayer changes things so I'm praying!!!

you are saying Paul did not know what he was saying...have you received the HS since yo believed? ...no ...unto what then were you baptised...why did he tell them to be baptised when he could have simply lay his hand and they would have received the HS...and it would also make Peter a liar...in acts 2 :38....

Maybe the disciples and Apostles were foolish to DISPUTE daily with those who teach heresy eh?

Acts 9:29, Acts 19:8, 9<-------Three months of disputing.....and the longer any thread goes the truth found therein will be read by someone and even if ONLY 1 person sees the truth then it was all worth it........

Or maybe Jude was not inspired to write that we should earnestly CONTEND for the faith once delivered unto the saints?

He keeps tying water and works to faith for salvation he will go to Christ at the Great White Throne judgment where he will be judged out of the law and found guilty and then cast from the presence of God into the eternal lake-o-fire......!

DUDE...this shows your total ignorance of and understanding of what I and the bible teaches...so I will lay it out one more time...

SAVING FAITH SAVES and MAKES ONE A CHILD OF GOD period....NO WORKS CAN BE DONE TO FACILITATE SALVATION as that is the WORK OF GOD THROUGH JESUS.

I HAVE NEVER SAID NOR TAUGHT THAT A SAVED CHILD OF GOD WILL BE VOID OF WORKS which are the PRODUCT OF BIBLICAL SALVATION.

YOU ON THE OTHER HAND TEACH THAT WORKS ARE PART OF AND NEEDED FOR SALVATION WHICH ACCORDING TO PAUL who wrote almost half of the N.T. is a GOSPEL OF A DIFFERENT KIND with NO power to SAVE and is double CURSED to HELL.

So...keep on trusting into a GOSPEL of a DIFFERENT KIND which has NO POWER and you will find yourself LOST and condemned to hell. PERIOD!

THE PHARISEES believed what you believe and TEACH and were called white washed COFFINS filled with the bones of DEAD MEN and they would NOT BE ALLOWED to be where JESUS IS.

Hear the word-->believe the word-->saved, justified and sanctified-->allows JESUS to do the WORK through YOU <--true gospel

FAITH+WORKS saves YOU <---FALSE GOSPEL condemned by the BOOK of GALATIANS = LOST and on your way to hell!

What work can WE do to get to heaven? No ones denying there will be works... He said like 10x already, what your not understanding " as a new creation " a changed mind and heart will do works through Spirit... How can anyone do works to become a changed mind? Jesus delivers the Holy Spirit as a gift, it's NOTHING we do, upon having this gift after confessing, believing He died and was resurrected for us, then we will do good works.. Their even giving you a order of how, but you keep saying no, no, no, dead faith this bla blah... Dedicate yourself to Jesus, pray hard and sincerely, Don't give up till you receive the gift.. Ok newbirth? Who taught you this stuff? Why are you so stuck on it?
