Brother Endoscopy,
Thank you for helping me study.
Matthew 24
15 “So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’ spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand—
Daniel 9:2, This whole chapter is about the destruction of Jerusalem (dest of Jeru.), and the coming of Jesus in His ministry, basically.
Dan 9:24- 27, The events that take place here all happen during the time period of the 70 weeks.
Jesus comes to confirm the covenant with Israel, is cut off in the middle of the week, and the covenant is ended by Israel when they reject the kingdom, as a result the gentiles enter in to the covenant.
The judgement on Jerusalem is made when the kingdom is rejected.
This covers all the events that are contained in the 70 weeks by 37 ad.
Then the Roman prince destroys the city in 70 ad.
Jesus causes the oblation to cease makes Jerusalem desolate by using the Roman armies.
--
But now you want to take the abomination of desolation (AoD), which is shown in the context of events surrounding the ministry and death of Jesus and say something like, "No this event, the AoD, does not happen at that time, it happens over 1900 years later."
Then you say that the events surrounding the AoD must be duplicated again, the temple rebuilt, the priesthood renewed, sacrifices started, And maybe Jesus will come again and be cut off in the middle of the week again, then the Roman prince destroys the city again.....Brother, it has all already happened and been done by 37 ad.
The AoD is one reason why Jerusalem was destroyed by 70 ad. You want to say that everything in Daniel 9 was fulfilled by 70 ad, except this one event, the AoD, then, you say to fulfill the scripture, everything must be recreated exactly like the 70 week time line.
But Jesus already came and was cut off in the time line, you cannot recreate that event, it already happened. To make what you say to come true, you must eliminate the death of Jesus from the time line and the context, which results in a pick and choose interpretation.
16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
The parallel verses of Lk 21:20-24, 24, shows that they flee from the sword, now they use guns and bombs, there won't be any fleeing this time.
17 Let no one on the housetop go down to take anything out of the house. 18 Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak. 19 How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! 20 Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath.
70 ad
21 For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again.
70 ad-1967, The time from the dest of Jeru until the restoration of Israel to Jerusalem.
22 “If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.
This is talking about the natural branches, as is the whole context of this chapter, not the gentiles.
Unless the times of the gentiles (ToGs) were shortened, no natural branches would be alive.
23 At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. 24 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you ahead of time.
26 “So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it.
False Christs before 70 ad.
27 For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 28 Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.
This shows that when Jesus comes to destroy Jerusalem in 70 ad., that He uses the Roman armies.
29 “Immediately after the distress of those days
“‘the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light;
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.
After the dest of Jeru. in 70 ad., the dark ages, middle ages, until 1967. Israel is persecuted by the Roman beast.
30 “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. 31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
When the trib is beginning to be over 70 ad-1967, gentile nations mourn to see Israel regathering to restore Jerusalem.
32 “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 33 Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door.
The kingdom/church is growing, but the dest of Jeru judgment is about to happen.
34 Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.
The apostle John who was present when Jesus said these things lived to see Jerusalem destroyed, fulfilling this verse.
35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
Fulfilled at the 6th seal Rev 6:12 &14. The 6th seal shows the dest of Jeru, proven by Lk 23:30, Rev 6:16.
Where will Jesus reignreign? Oops!! In Jerusalem here on earth.
Not on planet earth. Heb 12:22, shows that the Jerusalem and Sion are in heaven. That is the eternal throne where Jesus rules right now and forever. We will meet Him in the air, but He is not returning to planet earth.
Isaiah 24 AMPC
21 And in that day the Lord will visit and punish the host of the high ones on high [the host of heaven in heaven, celestial beings] and the kings of the earth on the earth.
22 And they will be gathered together as prisoners are gathered in a pit or dungeon; they will be shut up in prison, and after many days they will be visited, inspected, and punished or pardoned.
23 Then the moon will be confounded and the sun ashamed, when [they compare their ineffectual fire to the light of] the Lord of hosts, Who will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and before His elders will show forth His glory.
Jesus rules in Jerusalem and on Mt Zion now. The old covenant had ordinances and a worldly sanctuary Heb 9:1, we look a
heavenly city. Jesus returns for the kingdom at the resur/rapt Rev 11:15, but then it is the last judgement and the end when death is destroyed 1 Cor 15:23-28, 23-24.
