I think all the human reasoning, the labeling, the grouping together of an ism or denomination is the way Satan works with us to mess with our thinking. Scrpture, straight, is truth, nothing else. Scripture without reading it from the spiritual is messing with what scripture says. Scripture without seeing the literal is messing with what scripture says. There are thousands of ways we can blind ourselves to scripture.
Once our human minds put a label on something scriptual we can stop all reason, simply handle the entirety of what we labeled. So if it is a thought from the Catholics it is Catholic thinking, we can stop looking at scripture and just look at the Catholic label. That way we can accept or reject the scripture based only on the label. Saves us from allowing God in our lives on a personal basis.
The church has done that with Torah, Jews, Christ as love, angels, lots of scripture. It is a way not to accept God.

I agree all must come through the holy spirit all teaching correction etc.The books,the church,the bible is merely a manual,a guide,for us to read,follow,interpret,correct,correct others,experience and learn from our mistakes.Relating our experiences to it,proves true.
