For one thing it is a ugly statue, and only reason why it would be displayed is to offend others. Even the statue of liberty is an pagan statue, but it is in good taste and which that goat head figure with has no meaning at all, like the statue stand for liberty, but this goat creature statue doesn't stand for nothing, unless they are giving respect for or the memories of Boris Karloff; but the only thing that I can see is that this statue is a joke as naming part of the city of Jerusalem, Palestine (Philistine). I know the ones that is behind this statue hates what God stand for, and which these people desire to molest children and have children by their own parents and which the scriptures are against those acts. And so they are trying to remove the scriptures so that they can remove these old laws about molesting kids and be able to walk around naked to tempt children to do so. When committing a sin that doesn't harm others isn't a sin, but when it crosses the boundary of hurting other and which they want to do, is a sin. Everytime when I see someone that practice paganism, I see them as sodomites and which they doesn't want any rules to follow at all and which that statue represent. Like for an instance, Homosexuality isn't a sin unless they are trying to convert others that aren't in that condition to become one that aren't, just because they hated the design which God had intended for mankind to be, is a sin. These kind of people want to be in a relationship without being faithful or devoted to and which these pagans cannot stand, they are whoremongers that doesn't care about other people feeling but only to pleasure themselves.

The Frost’s have had a lot of controversy surrounding them for different reasons. They claim that just about every independent researcher on the subject is incorrect about Gerald Gardner founding Wicca and Raymond Buckland bringing it into the United States, as both of these acts were supposedly done by the Frosts. They were also against homosexuality and allowing homosexuals into Wicca, a position they later recanted. None of this crap really matters to me though. What does concern me is the biggest piece of controversy they’ve had, that they wrote an initiation ritual published in 1972 in the Witch’s Bible (and from what I hear also included in their correspondence course at one time) which encouraged pedophilia and incest. http://robjo.wordpress.com/2011/02/28/the-frosts-pedophiles-in-our-midst/
I respect your opinion. I may or may not agree with what you had to say (I haven't known any personally), but essentially everything you wrote was irrelevant to the fact that they ought to have the religious freedom to construct such an "ugly" statue. If we allow one brand of religion to do it on public land, why deny another brand? This is not being addressed in your response. I don't think any Christians (at least certainly not myself) advocate for their teachings or religious actions, but rather fighting for one of the fundamental reasons this nation was founded upon (religious freedom).

To me, that statue has no power. It doesn't represent anything to me that it unfortunately represents for you. It has as much power as we LET it have over us. Even if they publicly come out and say "this statue represents...." we still have no basis to object from it's creation and display unless we abolish all faiths from doing so. We are not talking about how wrong their doctrine is... let this be about religious freedom.

As a previous poster said, lets pray that people come to follow Christ. That as they accept Christ as their Lord and Savior, they demolish this statue... NOT because they are told to by the government entities, but because they CHOOSE to. In my mind, there wouldn't be a great victory for the Lord than the people displaying this statue WILLINGLY taking it down, all the while having the right to keep it up.

Surely this is a bunch of atheists who are not devil worshippers but simply trying to annoy Christians and prove a point that state and church should be separated and all faiths and beliefs should be treated equally.

As for Hurricane Katrina, it had nothing to do with the sin going on in the nation, it was God punishing America for its meddling with Israel, Katrina formed just a day after Israel pulled out of Gaza, removing thousands of people, even exhuming graves and transporting the dead to new cemetries, then handed the rule over to Palestinian Authority.
Assuming that is the case, do you personally think that is a sufficient enough reason to withhold their right to create/display their statue?

I would keep in mind that no matter what they hope to accomplish, they are not sinning against you or me. They are rebelling against God alone. I know the Lord Almighty has the shoulders to withstand all rebellion. In fact, God said He would rather people be honestly against Him than to pretend they love Him with an apathetic (lukewarm) heart. [Rev 3:15]

Arguing with rebels or fighting battles in your own strength is pointless. This battle is the Lord's and the only way we can fight for Him is to pray for our enemies and be a living example of Jesus Christ. If the Holy Spirit falls onto you to do a certain thing for His purposes, you will not have the power to disobey. God would empower you with the unquenchable desire to do the task and give you the strength & wisdom to accomplish it. But until then, pray.
You make an amazing point. Very well said!!! :)

It is not these pieces of rock that are offensive to me. It is the lifestyle of those professing to be Christians that is most offensive to me. Think about it!

Oh I understand. Jesus said " 34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” [h=1]John 13:34-35[/h]
And what does 1 Corinthians tell us about the characteristics of that love?

If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecyand can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."

Another translation even says "is not easily offended". Is the lifestyle associated with the erection of that statue personally offensive? Absolutely. As a mother, I wouldn't want my son walking by it every day. But, as we know, we are IN this word. and not OF it. All we accomplish by publicly announcing our disgust in these matters is show those who don't understand the Spirit the condemnation of God. It does nothing to point out their wrongdoings. It does nothing to better this country and, by extension, this world. Which, if we're being strictly scriptural is not even our main goal. It's a fallen world. These things are going to happen. Should we not be more concerned with seeking out individuals who practice under Luciferian teachings and loving them to the light? I encourage you to pray on this, brother and not let our flawed human emotions and reasoning detour you from the fact that we are called to act and speak on a higher plan. In short, more prayer less worry. God allows these things for a reason. We're short on time here. This is energy poorly spent.

The United States is not strictly a temple of the Lord, unfortunately. Our free will and ability to mess up royally is a big part of our salvation. We do not have to agree with others to love them, but we DO HAVE to love them and conduct ourselves accordingly.

I personally feel that arguing these points and being "offended" or "afraid" shows little of God's character. And, frankly, makes us all look like a bunch of Jehovah's Witnesses, looking for demons under every rock when all we need do is call on the name of Jesus to make them flee. It's comical. Such a trivial thing. I suppose next we'll be afraid of music videos and the sexualization of our culture instead of just praying for discernment? Nothing formed against us shall stand, remember?

Oklahoma is right in the center of tornado territory. I guess the lawmakers will be inviting God's wrath again.

Statements like this make me wonder ...who's trolling? An honest atheist with real questions to be answered, or a Christian who should know better than to take things like "God's wrath" so lightly. Innocent children live there, sir. And good, god-fearing men and women. To say a statue invites His wrath on the innocent is quite likely the most poorly backed statement I've read here today. I encourage you to pray on that point, brother. :/ We as a country are far from being a temple of the Lord with or without this silly statue.

Oh what the heck, if they can have a giant statue of Superman on a State park, then why shouldn't they has one of a pagan's god. Next we should have a giant statue of Elvis in front of the House of Representative or Minnie mouse to make sure that there is equal treatment of both sex.

Hahaha. Yes. this. Because any of those statues has literally the same amount of power over anything.. That's how silly this discussion is.

Interesting perspective. Very comical even. lol

I do think that if they had Minnie Mouse, Superman, etc... statues all over, it would actually be pleasing towards anti-Christians. To many, it would further mock Christians/theists and how we honor and worship our Heavenly Father with what they believe is something fictitious.

Should a group of people have the right to worship Minnie Mouse and want to publicly display a statue of her? Yes. Is it silly (to me)? Absolutely!

Aside from my personal beliefs (which shouldn't carry weight in the political/legislative realm), I cannot think of one good reason to appeal to our local/state/federal government concerning the construction of this statue.

Also putting aside not liking non-Christians driving a point about "a God they don't believe in", what are the real objections anyone has of the statue being built? Are there any legitimate reasons to discourage them from building the statue (legally)?

If we champion religious freedom, we have to tolerate all religions; Even religions we deem as false/corrupt. If we put up Christian themes on public land, we set a precedent. Why should one brand of faith be given preferential treatment as opposed to another brand?

Because this is a country that still has "In God We Trust" on its money. This country was founded by Christian as much as people want to revise history.Yes there is freedom of religion but this country was founded on Christian beliefs and I hate to see such a butt ugly, offensive statue dedicated to a false god. Yes, everyone will say "well your God offends me" To which I answer there are plenty of countries that dont believe in God so why not go there? This country was founded on Judeo/Christian beliefs. I hope the statue gets taken out by a tornado and no one else is harmed.

What is the church doing about it. Nothing, it's okay love your neighbor and do as they do and see a psychologist. Bull time to stand on the word and put faith to the test and it starts at the church house. If Christians would stand together we could stop all of this nonsense and with prayer. But I'm to busy and my son plays soccer and the preacher say's it's okay all things work out for the good. Read your bible and fight the kingdom of God is taken by violence.

I dont believe the statue holds any power. But I do know if this monstrosity was in my town I would not be happy about it.As I said this is a Christian country founded on Judeo/Christian beliefs. It irks me to see this dedication to a false god being erected.

We keep coming full circle back to it irking us personally. That isn't a point on which any of disagree. We're getting away from the bigger picture.
