I do indeed
But I see everyone avoiding the results of the Quenching of the Spirit as if the Holy Spirit lied about the consequences
I have read through this thread and its heated at times, and I respect your position. Just from my studies I have come up with a different belief/ conclusion.
Quenching the Spirit pertains to fellowship with God. If we quench or grieve the Spirit we are no longer filled with the spirit and walking in the Spirit. Which is different from the indwelling/sealing of the Spirit.
1 John 1:9 gets us back into fellowship with God. We are once again filled with the Spirit and walking in the Spirit.
If the believer continually grieves or quenches the Spirit, God will discipline His children. And it is no pretty sight, He even says that Physical death may be a consequence.
From my studies, salvation is clear, direct, simple and forever.
But fellowship is an advanced teaching for believers only. We have to have the Spirit to "get it."
The cutting off, faith without works, dead faith ect. verses are tough! They are tough, but they pertain to maintaining fellowship, not salvation. Salvation is clear and direct.
