I disagree about sin, but ok on the rest. And I agree we don't lose our salvation because we sin.
Unless you are Jimmy. Poor Jimmy. He is doomed to destruction! Oh! According to his beliefs, that is .;)

I do indeed

But I see everyone avoiding the results of the Quenching of the Spirit as if the Holy Spirit lied about the consequences
Here's my understanding:
Only believers have the Spirit. Thus, only believers can quench the Spirit.
Quenching the Spirit does not take us out of relationship with God; merely out of fellowship and communion with God.
Many people who believe themselves to be in relationship to God may well not be.

I believe that God has this covered in 1 John 1:9-- If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins(Our known confessed sins) and purify us from all unrighteousness.(our unknown/forgotten/ignorant sins)

I also believe that "and purify us from all unrighteousness" pertains to the human good(evil) we may have done outside of being filled with the Spirit.
If we know to do right yet do not do it. it is sin.

The problem is I think people look to a few commands and think as long as they do not break them they are ok.. When they are not.

The law was not given to help us grow as believers. but to expose our sin as unbelievers so we can turn to Christ.

Amen

Do not quench the spirit WHEREBY YE ARE SEALED UNTIL THE DAY OF REDEMPTION.

We can;t break the seal. Only God can, and he told us when that seal would be broken, when we are resurrected by him..

quenching the Spirit is not producing fruit, because, you refuse to obey God and do what God wants done.
each one of us has a responsibility in God to further His WORKS.
it aint never our own works.

look at Jesus and the Apostles letters, spoken words: the Common theme is if a Tree, a Branch connected to the VINE [Jesus] does not produce fruit. it gets cut off.

over 30 times in the New Testament this is mentioned.

why is it mentioned that many times and then we have no one listening to the Spirit and not producing fruit?

Gods people produce fruit. It is what they were created to do.

Not everyone will produce the same amount of fruit. But everyone WILL produce fruit

if they are not producing fruit. It is because they are still dead.

When God confronts me with a sin

I do not go around all hours of the day trying to figure out what sin I may or not be doing so i can hurry up and confess it.

The Holy Spirit would be very specific... you'd know exactly what you did that He is convicting you of that was sinful and He would lead you to confess it as sin unto Him (1 John 1:9) and forsake it immediately (Proverbs 28:13) so you would once again be in right standing with Him.

It's good to have an attitude of repentance with daily prayers of consecration . . . at least for those that seek to live lives that are pleasing unto the Lord.

I disagree. Only the Spirit produces fruit; not us by our actions. Hence, it is called the fruit of the Spirit, and not the fruit of the believer.

no one can produce godly fruit unless the Spirit commands them to do something and they do it.

people, just are not good enough, even in God, to produce good fruit on their own efforts.

I have read through this thread and its heated at times, and I respect your position. Just from my studies I have come up with a different belief/ conclusion.
Quenching the Spirit pertains to fellowship with God. If we quench or grieve the Spirit we are no longer filled with the spirit and walking in the Spirit. Which is different from the indwelling/sealing of the Spirit.

1 John 1:9 gets us back into fellowship with God. We are once again filled with the Spirit and walking in the Spirit.

If the believer continually grieves or quenches the Spirit, God will discipline His children. And it is no pretty sight, He even says that Physical death may be a consequence.

From my studies, salvation is clear, direct, simple and forever.

But fellowship is an advanced teaching for believers only. We have to have the Spirit to "get it."

The cutting off, faith without works, dead faith ect. verses are tough! They are tough, but they pertain to maintaining fellowship, not salvation. Salvation is clear and direct.

1 "I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.
2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit

you can ONLY be in CHRIST if you are SAVED

We bear, He produces.
God is glorified in the work of the Spirit.
we don't know what to bear on our own.
so, how can we bear when we do not have the mind of God?
only way, is to Obey God, to know His Will for us.
