I wonder why when explaining the 3 day work. Most make it about the cross part and by pass the same work of suffering for the sin of mankind in the garden. Shown in another way. Pouring out his unseen spirit as if it was blood. That which many literalize, and remove the faith principle.

Two witnesses that have the same outcome or spiritual understanding, hid in the parables..
The one who got their ear cut off suffered, jesus was arrested in the garden but the flogging and the beating and the nailing came later.

Yup it started the moment of his last breath, where the body was is kind of meaningless the body didn’t go to hades or anywhere else it was simply placed in a tomb. Jesus was out of his physical body for three days and three nights.
I would be careful with the idea of "out of the body experiences" .Not saying you are trying to sell. But the idea is on the rise .

It makes me wonder when His Spirit comes on the last day will he find the faith of Christ, as it is written working in men? or will experience be the new source of faith making as it is written to no effect?

Mathew gives us some understanding of the mutual work of the father and Son working together. Three times the Father rebuked Satan putting His words on His Sons lips. as it is written with it representing the source of faith the unseen eternal

Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him. Mathew 4:10-11

I would offer. For three days the mutual work of the Father and Son worked together in order to bring the peace of God that surpasses all human understanding. The new understanding by which can we believe of the father who informs us. . . . to call no man Teacher on earth one is our Teacher as Master and Lord not seen in heaven .Even the Son of man,Jesus when called Good Master gave glory to the unseen God.

It is the treasure we do have in the corrupted bodies of death. The power of God not of us in any way shape or form.

For three days; three denotes the end of a matter. . The father did not let corruption death conquer the body Son of man . As the Son cried out for spirit life as strength the Father poured out His Spirit on the Son of Man . A work that could of been demonstrated in a hour. Three one of the keys. It is like God saying; "the end of the demonstration".

For four days he performed that kind of work with Lazarus . Lazarus was dead asleep like all born again believers after they breath their last breath. .They are fast asleep waiting for the wake up call on the last day . Arise be clothed with His righteousness a reflection of the glory of the unseen father.

The work of the two or three in His name represent the unseen glory The Father and Son as one kept the body from totally corrupting turning to dust. it was a living suffering .God does not accept dead sacrifices.

Psalm 16:9-11 King James Version (KJV)Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; it speaks of the living suffering by reason of .

Neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see the end of corruption, death, the returning to the dust .

Well I would be careful saying his spirit remained in the body, you believe His spirit remain in the lifeless body?

when people die the spirit departs that is a out of body experience

its not spiritualizing...it scripturalizing...
watch the video and see post #38
Do you take literally the heart of the earth? If not, you are spiritualizing its meaning.

Jonah died. Jesus died. Jonah went to hell in the heart of the earth. Jesus died and went to hell in the heart of the earth. Jonah was resurrected the third day. Jesus was resurrected the third day. But a greater than Jonas us here.

I would offer. The work of salvation is not accredited to human hands in any way shape or form.

Even in the Garden the beginning of the three day labor of the love of God. The father put the disciples asleep so that they could not be accredited as working with the Son. . . suffering in prayer for strength to finish the good work . The gospel is limited to the two working as one.

Nothing is attributed to the sin inspired crowds . The gospel key I believe binds that kind of spirit of lies with eternal chains.

I would think the cutting off the ear in that parable represented no faith that comes as it is written.

They were not given ears to hear what the Spirit says to the churches (believers) .He cut off the ear of the servant of the high priest to signify a deaf Adler .The one Master Rabbi as High Priest that lorded it over the faith of others. You could say he took away the ear of his messenger. And they with the focus on Judas were used to represent those under the "spirit of judgment" as those who fall backward slain of God . The kiss of Judas like the poison of a Adler, pronounced death upon his own self .

The number twelve a remnant of all the apostles is used in parables to represent the bride of Christ coming down on the last day , Judas was replaced with Matthias .The tribe of Dan for the same reason was used to represent the gates as tribes. as apostles do foundational walls . The cutting off the ear would seem to fit the understanding as a offering I would offer.

And Jesus answered and said unto them, Are ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and with staves to take me? Mark14:48

Twice to emphasize the witness of God. The words I am he show the power of the gospel to appose the oral traditions of men that fall backward slain in the Spirit.

They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them. As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.ohn 18:5-7 King James Version (KJV)

Christians bow forward. Like John leaning on Him .

Jonah did not die...the only sign given by jesus is the three days three nights.

What is the true meaning of "in the heart of the Earth"???
Sheol/Hades is the region of departed souls and spirits. It is in the heart of the earth, or the lower parts of the earth, or the nether regions, or near the core of the earth. Unfortunately the King James translators did not transliterate Sheol and Hades, and thus caused a lot of confusion.

Watch the video...it has nothing to do with translation

As Jonah, so shall the son of man be. If the son of man died, so did Jonah.

the grave or the tomb is WRONG.
Allow Scripture to define itself.

Ephesians 4
8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

Jon 2:6 (KJV) I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.

God brought Jonah corruption, that means he was dead and in hell in my opinion. What else could it be?

Agreed, but when these guys don’t take the Bible literally, they can make it say anything.

Read the verse...the only sign is the three days and three nights...
We do not need Christ if Jonah was resurrected...
Mat 12:40 KJV For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
FOR AS JONAS WAS THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS.....

So the heart is the lower bottom. Do you lnow when he descended to the lower parts?

What? Jonah didn’t pay for our sins. Lazarus was resurrected. Do we still need Christ?

Explain the Ephesians passage. Remember to take it literally.

Yes, before he ascended. That’s the context. The ascension and descension of Christ. Which happened first.
