Adam chose to sin to be with his wife. He was not deceived. The woman was deceived. Adam is a figure of Jesus Christ. Why did the serpent choose to deceive Eve instead of Adam? The woman is more vulnerable to deception.
I'm not so certain that Adam "chose" anything...

God provided Eve, Adam accepted her as his own flesh, there must have been an absolute trust between them. BUT... at the very moment Eve was deceived, she possessed the knowledge of both good and evil. Suddenly, there was a major difference between Adam and his wife (his flesh, his helpmeat) that Adam could not even conceive of. How easy it must have been, at that very moment, for Eve to seduce Adam...

You should probably study the topic and know what you're talking about before posting off another website's opinions against the KJV...probably James White.
you should probably study the topic

that way you will see that it is impossible for the KJ you use to be inspired since it is actually a correction on the 1611

I don't know who James White is.

what I posted is factual. you don't like it so you call it an opinion. it is historical FACT.

What verse tells us that Eve seduced (as in used sex) to get Adam to eat the forbidden fruit?

Oh, take a breath Proverbs35... Who said anything about sex?

What scripture tells us exactly what that "fruit" taught Eve? Lol...

You used the word seduced.

To seduce someone is to make them want to engage in sexual activity with you, especially in a subtle or manipulative way. Seduce is also commonly used in a more general way meaning to tempt or influence someone to do something, especially something bad or something they wouldn't normally do.
Source: https://www.dictionary.com

Seduction is generally associated with sex.

I never named a particular kind of fruit.

Lol... Now you're making my point for me.

Seriously P35, you don't see how drastically Adam and Eve's relationship changed once she was deceived? The irony is that we still lust after that knowledge that makes us as gods...

Seduced is commonly known for enticing sexual activity. Probably just poor word choice.

All we know about the tree of knowledge is it produced the knowledge of good and evil.

Speculation:

I believe Adam was told the same thing of satan but instead Eve was the messenger. Adam chose to disobey God wanting to be like God.

I believe that a man's pride, like a woman's vanity, knows no bounds... ;)

ummm... not taking sides here at all

but the word seduce is also commonly used to refer to (pardon the colloquial wording here) 'getting into someone's head to change their mind about things in a bad way'

if I am not mistaken, that is what JAPOV meant

for example, I have a book entitled "The Seduction of Christianity" meaning luring away from the truth

also, remember the Bible speaks of 'seducing spirits' who are teaching spirits who teach lies

it is not an uncommon way to use the word

@JAPOV

Good point. One of the general connotations of seduction is sex. I immediately thought about that because I have heard it said that Eve used her womanly wilds, femininity, sexuality to get Adam to eat the fruit.

However, that is conjecture. We don't know why Adam listened to Eve and ate the fruit because the Bible does not tell us, although I am sure that we ALL have an opinion about it.

True so without defining what was meant it is up to the reader to decide what was meant. True or false is undefined or not explained then sometimes the reader can misunderstand the writer's thinking.

haha

that is proved true by how the op meant this thread for one thing and we all took it the other way

I suppose a more pertinent question would be... Did God hold Adam accountable for Eve? Is that what "woman" truly means?

Let me ask you a question...

If you were reading through the KJV honestly, with no prior knowledge of scripture at all, would there be anything you come across that would make you say, that's an error? Contradiction?
Yes… as discussed many times: the age of Ahaziah when he became king.

We know that Adam was not deceived but Eve. Adam knew what he was doing. So why did Adam eat? Because God said it’s not good for man to be alone. They had become help mates, married and joined as one by the flesh.
You really can’t admit to your eisegesis, can you? What you claim simply is not in the text… period!

What has scripture done to women? That’s God. Don’t blame man for following the word. God is a God of order. The husband is head of the wife as Christ is the church. The relationship should point us to Him. You would rather have it your way.
I said nothing about Scripture doing anything to the women in your congregations. I said you and the Church Leaders (men) of your congregations.

All of you stand tall and preach/teach the women they can not have authority over men, or hold positions of leadership in the church because the Apostle said so. You are all happy to build your theology around that Scripture, yet NONE of you do any preaching/teaching of the rest of Scriptures the Apostle wrote concerning women. In so doing, you are all cowards and unworthy of claiming to be the spiritual heads of the church/home IMO.

It is truly a sad state you and the Church Leaders build your congregations on. If you are going to enforce ONE of the Scriptures, then why exactly are you not enforcing ALL of the Scriptures? I am convinced that you and the Church Leaders will answer to God for your actions one day!

it's not the word

it's little ole you and your compatriots

you are actually just as confined within your disbelief as the women you keep as your 'servants'

I will intensify your labor pains;
you will bear children with painful effort.
Your desire will be for your husband,
yet he will rule over you.
If this was Eve's curse... Then what was Adam and Eve's relationship BEFORE?
