dc - you want to walk righteously, as unto Christs way, and that is your hearts desire.
Amen. So do I.

I have never expected anything else from any follower of Jesus. What I did not expect
was you are a works salvationist, trying to earn your way to heaven.

If you go to a party and the dress code is white you do not turn up dirty.
If our whole ethos, way of walking, talking and being is loving and encouraging one another
to praise the Lord and good works, then anything that helps the things that hinder us, is
a good thing. Why I would be regarded as an enemy, beats me.

And if I, who am laid back, non-aggressive and a sharer of how things look to me, am terrible,
what about the more timid and less well prepared? This is where I wonder who are these great
saints trying to put right.

Back in the 70's when the charismatic movement was just starting off, there were always guys
who stood up and said, I am perfect, the Holy Spirit has baptised me and I am not going to sin
any more. They never lasted long. But this is vastly different from saying sin does not matter,
if I get angry, behave inappropriately this is not wrong, it is just who I am.

This is where most commited believers question this strident, you are pharisees, we are totally
free and answerable to no one. All Christs commands are just about condemnation and failure
and no believer needs to be concerned about them.

If I did not follow Christ, and know what discipleship was, I would just say ok. But this is completely
against what my life grew on, the love that was established in me and Jesus's words.

So we have good reason to question these super saints who condemn and depose faith from simple
believers of Christs words.

What I don't understand is how you arrived at the false assumption that DC is a works salvationist.

Security

My security is in the cross and the love expressed there, not in a belief that if I bought
the ticket I am secure through judgement day.

My security is in knowing what love is and reigning with Christ on my throne.
If I have got it wrong, my Lord will put me right because He loves me and I listen to His
voice.

I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me
John 10:14

So you know Christ, so you know I am speaking the truth, Amen.

That is why Peter was so dear to Jesus despite his flaws, for he would always admit his flaws, and turn from them, like king David who did some terrible things, but would quickly turn to the LORD and ask forgiveness.

Gal 2:11 But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed.
Gal 2:12 For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision.
Gal 2:13 And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation.
Gal 2:14 But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?

Even after conversion Peter still had a problem, which Paul said he did not walk uprightly according to the truth of the Gospel.Peter is an example of how the Lord forgives, and even though a person can mess up quite often, can still find favor with the Lord, because of their persistent love for God,and the willingness to not give up,which Peter walked on water, but lost faith, and Jesus had to raise him up,and denied Jesus 3 times, and probably did things the Bible does not mention, but his attitude to keep trying, and not give up,found him favor and forgiveness with the Lord, and like David,Peter always would eventually turn from what he did.

And we know Peter is saved, without a shadow of a doubt, one hundred percent, can be proven, for his name is written in the New Jerusalem, and well as the other 11 apostles, and if Peter can mess up like he did, even after conversion, but still find forgiveness, and obtained salvation, than we can too despite our messing up,as long as we are persistent, not give up,have a zeal for the Lord, and have the same attitude as Peter.
David stayed in reversionism for months at a time as was very ssssllllooooowwwww to turn back to God. ANd He was saved in those times he was running far and long from the Lord.

Peter didn't find favor with the Lord by his persistence. Peter found favor with the Lord by the Lords persistence.

I am saved. Born again. I will mess up. I may not persist. I may lose my zeal. I may not have the same attitude as Peter.

But the Lords persistence keeps me saved.

I seen that and was like....how can anyone even begin to think that....as many times as I have stated my salvation is based upon grace through faith and is eternally held by Jesus and his power.........

I made a grammatical mistake. You say I am the works salvationist.
I posted a note correcting this up above.

Now if you want an example of jumping the gun, or not stopping to think a little
this is it. You and I both know our positions. But then again, you want to make
some extreme point. Does not get you very far does it, and in the Lord is it the
way we should behave?

You are convinced I have a double agenda. How do you deal with people who are
just being nice? Shoot and ask questions later!!!! Lol.

This is a christian forum, not a war zone...

Peter.....2/3 of the time or even more than that you are accusing me, twisting what I say, embellishing what I say......I did not see your correction until after the fact.....

UNLIKE you I can admit error....I apologize for jumping the gun!

I wonder if the fruit of the Spirit is in evidence.
Compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

Now I am happy if you dice up everything I write, it proves the point
there is too much aggression and too little just taking time to think and pray.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

my error. You do make me laugh. Where is the barb put down for the kind word?

Thankyou for apologising. Does that work in the middle of a complaint along
every line you write. Lol. If you were my example of good behaviour I would
be lost.
