In Romans 10:16, we read: But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our report?" We can clearly see that we obey the gospel by choosing to believe the gospel. Refusing to believe the gospel (2 Thessalonians 1:8) is refusing to obey the gospel.

[SUP]19 [/SUP]Go therefore[SUP][c][/SUP] and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, [SUP]20 [/SUP]teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.[SUP][d][/SUP]

Obeying the Gospel is:
-Observing (Obeying)
-All things (not only some things)
-Jesus has commanded us

And we cannot do the above (obedience) without first having believed in Him.

So you think you can believe but have no obligation towards obedience? Then you're like the demons (James 2v19)

Tell us your "interpretation" of what this means.

What does a Christian have to do in order to remain saved? Tell us exactly what they are because we don't want to go to hell as your religion teaches.

Thanks - I like to take people's religions for test runs to see what is really in them.

Goats are know by their fruit.
- either no fruit
- or bad fruit

Sheep are known by their fruit
- godly works
- obedience

If you are living in disobedience, you are a goat. You may masquerade as a sheep, but you are a goat.
Sorry to tell you, but you have the same faith in God heathens do...

"1. ""that God is; that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him;" and that he is to be sought by glorifying him as God, by giving him thanks for all things, and by a careful practice of moral virtue, of justice, mercy, and truth, toward their fellow creatures. "
Hopefully there is more to your faith than you have stated so far.

Goats worship other gods that are not God.

Sheep may believe in Father, but not Son..

Sons are those who have been born from above.

Believers don't get water baptized and observe all that Christ has commanded in order to become a disciple, a learner, a pupil, a follower of Christ but BECAUSE they have chosen to become a disciple, learner, pupil, follower of Christ.

*
There is a difference between obeying the gospel by choosing to believe the gospel by trusting in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ as the ALL-sufficient means of our salvation (Romans 1:16) and multiple acts of obedience/works which follow choosing to believe the gospel and becoming saved. You pervert the gospel of Christ by "adding" works to the gospel. Perfectly obeying all things that Jesus has commanded or else is not the gospel. We are not sinless, absolutely perfect, 100% of the time.

Acts of obedience/good works are a manifestation of genuine belief/faith. All genuine believers are fruitful, but not all are equally fruitful. In James 2:19, the demons may believe "mental assent" that "there is one God" but they do not entrust their spiritual well being to Christ; have faith/reliance upon Christ for salvation. Their trust and reliance is in Satan, as demonstrated by their rebellion in heaven and continuous evil works. In other words, the demons do not believe on the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 16:31) and are not saved.

If baptism with water was good enough for Jesus, then it's good enough for you.,or John the baptist coming was a waste of time.He came to preach repentance ,and baptize with water to prove that you have repented.

Sheep may believe in Father, but not Son..

.[/QUOTE]

I don't buy this....

NO man comes unto the Father except thru the SON and to know the Father is to know eternal life.....NO eternal life without JESUS and you cannot come to Christ without being drawn by the FATHER....to know ONE is to KNOW both!

[SUP]22 [/SUP]For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
[SUP]23 [/SUP]That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.
[SUP]24 [/SUP]Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
[SUP]25 [/SUP]Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
[SUP]26 [/SUP]For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
[SUP]27 [/SUP]And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
[SUP]28 [/SUP]Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
[SUP]29 [/SUP]And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
[SUP]30 [/SUP]I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. John 5:22-30

In this passage it looks like all will be judged, some to everlasting life and not come into condemnation.
They that have done good, unto resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto resurrection of damnation.

Anytime anyone speaks in favor of abandoning sin and obeying Christ there is a horde of individuals crawling from the swamp and repeating in a zombie-like state "works salvatioooon, its noot of wooorkksss".

Then when you ask them ok what is wrong with abandoning sin and obeying Christ you get the usual hogwash response that we are not saved by works but by faith, not realizing that Paul is referring to works of the law such as circumcision, not obedience to Jesus, that's what Jesus was talking about all the time!
After this the conversation usually goes two ways: either they say that works do not save us however a genuine faith produces works, perseverence of the saints and all that. OR they say its just 1-2-3 repeat after me and believe.

This is every conversation of this type ever. Now I do know some 1-2-3 repeat after me people who preach against sin a lot including Pastor Anderson but if I were to ever meet him i'd ask him why bother, just 1-2-3 repeat after me and lets go to the pub, no need to run the race or strive to enter or any of it.
Now if you confront these guys on it, they talk about losing rewards in the coming earthly rule of Christ or commiting a sin unto death where God takes you to heaven early or whatever, but lets be for real for one second and look at the results this type of christianity has produced and we can see something ain't right.
With that being said, God bless Steven Anderson he has some good sermons and has more guts than most of these cookie cutter pastors these days.

Bingo - well said.

Those who hear and believe, are the ones who obey and do good.

Hebrews 3
[SUP]18 [/SUP]And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? [SUP]19 [/SUP]So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

Exactly bro! The thing is obedience and faith go hand in hand. But the problem with the not of works crowd is that they think doing ANYTHING other than believing something is done for them or something exists is works. Its so silly and really this is the mcdonalds drive-thru version of christianity that is very common in the west unfortunately.

1 Thessalonians 4

[SUP]3 [/SUP]For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; [SUP]4 [/SUP]that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, [SUP]5 [/SUP]not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God; [SUP]6 [/SUP]that no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother in this matter, because the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also forewarned you and testified. [SUP]7 [/SUP]For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness. [SUP]8 [/SUP]Therefore he who rejects this does not reject man, but God, who has also given[SUP][a][/SUP] us His Holy Spirit.

Why is it that you and your pals who push the above lie, deceive and apply things not true and or implied by those who teach grace dia faith salvation...?

For works/obedience based salvation pushers you guys sure seem to do things contrary to your own dogma....

NOT one of us said we do nothing, but rather the works and fruit we bear are the results of the salvation and faith one already has in Christ.

Not one of us has said we can or should live anyway we want, sinning like the devil and never repent or get right with God.

Not one of us has said that obedience to the word is not required, yea demanded by God after biblical salvation.....

ALMOST every one of you lie every single time you attribute the above lies, deception and falsehoods unto those who believe in salvation by grace dia faith.....

BY your very doctrine and posts you make and accuse of which are false and lies you testify that you are not saved.........

NOTICE the bolded...had I used EVERYONE of YOU it would have been false.....

Read my earlier post where I specifically mentioned that faith then produces works according to some, its the reformed position and its fine with me. Perseverence of the saints.
Different way of saying it same results.

AGAIN...a total rejection of context to push a works based gospel.......how about the first 10 verses and who is actually taking pleasure in unrighteousness.....

BECAUSE you could not use the verses as you have to push something it does not say......par for the course with you and your pals
