If God made it so easy for us as some imply, then how would we make our bodies a "living sacrifice". Sacrifice is never easy and it isn't supposed to be. Sacrificial living is loving God in action not words or a false notion of being perfect. The true mark of a believer/disciple is in the struggle....doing something your flesh doesn't want to do or not doing something your flesh wants to do. That is living victoriously and those are the victories that Jesus loves because it shows you love Him.....and when I fail, disciplines me as a loving father would not by shame or punishment, but picking me up out of my pit and putting His arms around me and saying that He loves me even in my failure.

Some do struggle more than others when it comes to their sinful ways, and no believer changes over night.
It is a process that the Lord through the Holy Spirit will do the molding in our lives to change us from walking in darkness to walking in light (righteousness). If we claim as some are doing that we continue to sin every single day, then we would be saying the Holy Spirit is failing to work in our lives. Or the flip side would be that this form of thinking stems from, would be denying the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

None of us are completely sinless as some like to continue to falsely spout out, but there is a difference in being sinless and abstaining from sins to where you do not sin everyday. Will we sin again? YES Can we abstain from sinning everyday? YES It is not a lie nor is it false teaching to teach this, as some state.

You and a couple others keep bringing up the Pharisees, and you all do realize the Lord called them vipers and heretics because they did not keep, twisted, and added on to the laws of God. They did not keep them perfect as been falsely taught as no man can keep the entire 613 mosaic laws, and they even went and put heavier burdens on others. And even used it and their position for power and financial gain.
This is why the Lord said are righteousness needs to exceed theirs, because theirs was self righteousness. Everything they did was for themselves and not for the love of God.

You started this thread to disprove what you call a lie, that OSAS teaches a person can continue in willful sins and still be saved. You say this is a big lie, but then you and a couple others say you sin every single day and state that all believers do and can not change that. You do realize that is preaching the same thing in different wordage, and is unbiblical as not one scripture says born again believers sin everyday. Making 1 John 1:8-10 say that is interjecting what is not there and making it contradict tons of other scriptures that say the opposite. Including making it contradict the guiding of the Holy Spirit, because if you say we all sin everyday then you are initially saying we all deny the Holy Spirit.

There is two verses that would take your everyday sinning by all a false teaching;

Matthew 3:8
Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:

Luke 3:8
Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

Here the Lord is saying that your actions that follow show if your repentance was a true repentance, and continuing in those same sins and not turning from them rather it takes you one day or one year to stop that sin/s. If you are not trying to stop walking in those sins, and putting them off your repentance was not true.
Go study more Kenneth as the Pharisees trusted in their own abilities and works while putting off a self righteous attitude about the sin of the people around them who knew they need the top doctors health....and as usual you take what is said and NATURALLY ASSUME that WE LIVE IN HORRID SIN ALL DAY....

i can't leave one in your kitchen, but i can mail you some?
i would like a cookie!

... confound it! i just let myself be ruled by the desires of the flesh again, lusting in my heart after chocolate chips.
see, without Christ, there is no way i can be perfect.

:rolleyes:

but you know what? in Christ i am free to eat cookies nevertheless, because i eat them with gratitude towards God for both cookies and taste buds, which i attribute to Him as gifts!

Don't be ignorant. The "once saved always saved" is a false doctrine. Jesus Himself warned us of the great falling away from the faith. I believe in Phillipians 2:12 - "Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling." Hebrews 6 is unequivocal about this; it says from the 4th verse of Hebrew 6 "For it is IMPOSSIBLE for those who were once enlightened (saved), and have tasted of the Heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

5*And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

6*If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame."

The Bible is full of people who were once Saved but fell away from The Faith -

I don't believe in the "Once Saved Always Saved"; I will go even further to say that it is a dangerous doctrine. In Acts 5, we read about Ananias and Sapphira his wife "5*But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession. 2*And he kept back part of the proceeds, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles’ feet. 3*But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself? 4*While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.”

5*Then Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and breathed his last. So great fear came upon all those who heard these things. 6*And the young men arose and wrapped him up, carried him out, and buried him." Lastly but not the least, we all know the story of Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus. Would you say he, Judas was once saved? I do not believe in the "Once Saved Always Saved " doctrine and believe it is a very dangerous doctrine.

Oh come on....The three of them (K, NB and J) don't sin...they just mess up or trip up a bit...........or their sins are just little sins........even though they can loose salvation they never have because their sins are not significant and or BIG enough....but for sure we are sinners that don't work hard enough to keep our salvation....or get it or maintain it because we acknowledge the truth about sin in a believer's life........

Again with the negativity and false allegations on others who do not agree with you.
If you want others to stop saying what you consider a lie by those who don't believe in OSAS, then we would suggest you do the same and stop with the false allegations back......

At the end of the day their gospel is.....

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosever does many wonderful works will not perish but is gaining everlasting life......

or

In the grace you are having been saved out of works and that of yourselves it is of works not of grace so every man can boast......

No we believe the whole and complete words of God;

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Luke 6:46
And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

(47) Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them......

Matthew 7:21
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

[h=1]Matthew 7:22-23
Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’[/h]

( All their good works they did in verse 22 meant nothing, because they also served sin by continuing to give into the lusts of the flesh. )

In order for Him to be your Lord is to walk in love and obedience to Him and His teachings, and not to continue to give into the lust of the flesh everyday. A faith without actions that follows is not a true faith, and to deny the doing part is to deny Him. Same as He said in Matthew 25 if you fail to show love and help to others in need, then you have denied Him as well. And nobody who denies Him He says inherits eternal life.....

Don't worry....you and your pals will stand before Jesus bragging on all of the wonderful works you have done in his name to only be refused entrance and cast from his presence......

Lord, Lord did we not do MANY wonderful works in your name...........!

It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that BELIEVE.........!

It is obvious that you cannot discern between the physical death (chastisement) of a believer and eternal separation from God based upon a rejection of the completed works of Christ.....it is equally evident that you do not understand the words saved, justified and sanctified FOREVER...not do you understand ETERNAL and EVERLASTING which must mean temporary to you....

More self reliance and Phariseeism in your post! Guess your god is too weak to eternally save you, seal you and place you in his hand LIKE MY GOD CAN!

I believe that is in Leviticus. The way it works is you have to offer the first dozen cookies to the Lord. You may not mix white chocolate chips with semi- sweet chocolate chips for that is an abomination. No burnt ones allowed. With your cooking skills that should not be an issue. :)
