no one can do that without the holy spirit because deep in their heart they will still desire to sin and once again will just be showing forms of holiness
And we still desire to sin, but with the help of the Holy Spirit we are able to conquer those thoughts and bring them into subjection...

2Co 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
2Co 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
2Co 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

We still have those thoughts...

Jas 4:5 Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
Jas 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
Jas 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Jas 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
Jas 4:9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
Jas 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
Jas 4:11 Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
Jas 4:12 There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?

But we are to bring them into subjection, into the captivity of Christ.

it does tells you how to live by them in two commandments,

Yes. which are not the law. but new commands God gave us..

And he answered, “
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” Luke 10:27 NASB

By love you walk with God in the Spirit as a believer. By love you follow and do the works of good morals, teachings, and commandments of our Lord. God is love, God is Spirit, the Spirit must be love right? Judge for yourself. But I know what to believe.

again, these are not the law.. But this is how you do it. Thus one does not need the law of moses at all to know how to do it do they? All it can do is tell us if we are doing it or not. it has no power to show us how.. which was my point.

Jesus said this.

Yes love the lord is the first command. but again, The command given to moses in stone cannot tell us HOW TO DO IT.

Tell me where the law shows us how not to covet. in the command which says "do not covet"

Why go back to he law? We do not need it. We can do it by knowing and following the law of love.

All the law can do is tell me if I did it or not. it can not tell me how to do it.

and to answer your question. You can't (not in a righteous way anyway) thats why the law is useless to help us obey the moral law of God. The jews proved this for 2000 years. And we have proven this for another 2000 years. making 4000 years since the law was given that we have proven over and over, we can not be righteous people by following the law of moses.

Mat 5:19

Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Mat 19:17
And he said unto him, Why askest thou me concerning that which is good? One there is who is good: but if thou wouldest enter into life, keep the commandments.

Mat 22:40
On these two commandments the whole law hangeth, and the prophets.

Mar 10:19
Thou knowest the commandments, Do not kill, Do not commit adultery, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Do not defraud, Honor thy father and mother.

Luk 1:6
And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.
How can anyone be righteous before Yahweh under the law? Impossible, but the commandments are possible.

Joh 14:15
If ye love me, ye will keep my commandments.
Yeshua is Yahweh, His commandments are the Commandments to which He refers. He added a new commandment, to love one another. He never said this new rescinds all others. People are teaching this.

Joh 14:21
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself unto him.

Joh 15:10
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

1Co 7:19
Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing; but the keeping of the commandments of God.

Tit 1:14
not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men who turn away from the truth.
Notice above it refers to commandments of men...this is a reference to the rabbinical or traditional teachings as commandment from Yahweh, just as today, many are saying there are "new" commandments rescinding the commandments of the Father.

2Pe 3:2
that ye should remember the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and the commandments of the Lord and Saviour through your apostles:

1Jn 2:3
And hereby we know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

1Jn 2:4
He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him;

1Jn 3:22
and whatsoever we ask we receive of him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.
Here the reference is to the Father and keeping His commandments. (look it up)

1Jn 3:24
And he that keepeth his commandments abideth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.

1Jn 5:2
Hereby we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and do his commandments.

1Jn 5:3
For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

2Jn 1:6
And this is love, that we should walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, even as ye heard from the beginning, that ye should walk in it.

Rev 12:17
And the dragon waxed wroth with the woman, and went away to make war with the rest of her seed, that keep the commandments of God, and hold the testimony of Jesus:
Please note how the commandments of God are deliberately kept separate from holding the testimony of Yeshua, yet they go hand in hand.

Rev 14:12
Here is the patience of the saints, they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Again the commandments of Yahweh and the faith of Yeshua are meticulously separated, yet they go hand in hand.

Friend, I understand. I think your walking by the valley instead of the mountain top of this topic. It's not that the law keeps us bonded by commandments trying to abide by trusting the letter. Surely we believe the gift of grace and mercy by the Spirit has made us able to walk in the law, and by the blood of Jesus, make us righteous.

you just said you still desire to sin, to desire means to covet how can you covet to sin, if the truth is in you? you don't desire to sin when the truth is in you the devil tempts you and we use the word of god to fight away those temptations

Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing; but the keeping of the commandments of God.

So to be circumcised, the law, and uncirumcision breaking the law is NOTHING, but the Commandments of Yahweh are extant.

I may only guess others have not consulted the very large paste of my last post, (I don't like long posts either.). So I put this one reference above because it seems the most outright in demonstrating, the law being separate from the Commandments of the Father.

If anyone wishes, they may look at some of the pasted scriptures on the commandments, all from the New Testaement and it is easy to understand most times the commandments referenced are those of the Father. As it says, they should not be a burden to anyone who loves Him. Yahweh bless all and good night from Iberia.

Acts 10
27While talking with him, Peter went inside and found a large gathering of people. 28He said to them: "You are well aware that it is against our law for a Jew to associate with or visit a Gentile. But God has shown me that I should not call anyone impure or unclean. 29So when I was sent for, I came without raising any objection.
34Then Peter began to speak: "I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism 35but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right. 36You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, announcing the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all. 37You know what has happened throughout the province of Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John preached— 38how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.39"We are witnesses of everything he did in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They killed him by hanging him on a cross, 40but God raised him from the dead on the third day and caused him to be seen. 41He was not seen by all the people, but by witnesses whom God had already chosen—by us who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. 42He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead. 43All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name."44While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message.45The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on Gentiles. 46For they heard them speaking in tongues[36] and praising God. Then Peter said, 47"Surely no one can stand in the way of their being baptized with water. They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have." 48So he ordered that they be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked Peter to stay with them for a few days.
1
He said to them: "You are well aware that it is against our law for a Jew to associate with or visit a Gentile. But God has shown me that I should not call anyone impure or unclean. 29So when I was sent for, I came without raising any objection.(walking by faith, listening what the holy spirit, was telling him.) peter.
2.
Then Peter began to speak:
3
While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message.(at what point, was the 10 comands or laws. or decree, stated, talked about. )
4
The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on Gentiles
(gentile being given the gift of the holy spirit.)no command, decrees, or laws talked about.
were they saved, because they(the gentiles) believed ,what was being said through peter, or what the holy spirit was saying through him. or both.
Acts 15
1Certain people came down from Judea to Antioch and were teaching the believers: "Unless you are circumcised, according to the custom taught by Moses, you cannot be saved." 2This brought Paul and Barnabas into sharp dispute and debate with them. So Paul and Barnabas were appointed, along with some other believers, to go up to Jerusalem to see the apostles and elders about this question.
5Then some of the believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees stood up and said, "The Gentiles must be circumcised and required to keep the law of Moses."6The apostles and elders met to consider this question. 7After much discussion, Peter got up and addressed them: "Brothers, you know that some time ago God made a choice among you that the Gentiles might hear from my lips the message of the gospel and believe. 8God, who knows the heart, showed that he accepted them by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as he did to us. 9He did not discriminate between us and them, for he purified their hearts by faith. 10Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of Gentiles a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors have been able to bear? 11No! We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are."
1Unless you are circumcised, according to the custom taught by Moses, you cannot be saved.
2.why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of Gentiles a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors have been able to bear? 11No! We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are."
jewish and the gentiles saved by grace.
19"It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God. 20Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood. 21For the law of Moses has been preached in every city from the earliest times and is read in the synagogues on every Sabbath."
1we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God
2abstain from food polluted by idols,
3.from sexual immorality
4from the meat of strangled animals and from blood
5and is read in the synagogues on every Sabbath.
the gospels , must be talking to a jewish nation, as not one gentile has been saved or born again. but because we have the bible ,(to keep it short) we can read about jesus es life etc. (that dos not mean, we as gentile (christain) can t learn anything from them.(again to keep it short.)
christain(born again) jews. talking about what to do with the gentile believers( points 1 2 3 4). this is there conclution.
synagogues a jewish church, not a gentile church.
jewish were instructed to follow the full law, decrees .(given by moses)would it be safe to say, that even the disiples had problems , what to do with a gentile.christain. yet, the
gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on Gentiles christains.
we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God.

john. 16For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
1.at what point dose it say anything about laws, decrees.
2, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.(no law needed ,the word, believe sticks out.)
3.Whoever believes in him is not condemned,(believe sticks out)
4. but whoever does not believe stands condemned already(not believe sticks out)
5.because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.(not believe sticks out).
cut a long story short. saved by believing without seeing. some christains call this grace.
41He was not seen by all the people, but by witnesses whom God had already chosen—by us who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.
42He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead.

So you are saying that if they abstain from strangled meats and fornication they can covet and murder at will?
Is that your argument?
Some discernment must be applied to all of the Word, (as it does in life).
C'mon.

What?
Were you not making a case that the ten commandments were no longer in effect(or never were) for the gentiles by using the four conditions the apostles in Jerusalem put on them?
I thought that was it.
If I'm mistaken I do apologize.
What in fact were you claiming?

There is no debate about Jesus as the propitiation. I thought you were pointing out different conditions for gentiles toward the moral law.
Again, if I was wrong I apologize.

The only One Who has all the Word on the Tip of His Tongue is Yeshua. However when someone knows enough to share with the Brethren, this is by no means being a haughty or an arrogant person.

We all have been saved by the washing of the Blood of Yeshua. Previous to this happening, we were all lost. Long before this occurred for me, I had never practiced breaking the commandments, although I may have been guilty in thought which is the same as breaking one.

After the experience of the Holy Spirit our nature is changed. I should think all who have experienced this know this. If we stumble after this, we are forgiven...........

There is not a question here. However to not have this change in our nature is new to me. It should be our new person, having put off the old man. Am I wrong? I have always believed this from my elders. God bless all who believe Yeshua, amen.
Yes, it is the new nature given. A heart change...not done by man or the will of man but by the Spirit of God. Not done in increments but at a point of time.
It is for the Christian a heart transformed by the Spirit willing to do his will. His nature/His character is written into ours not with pen and ink on paper or scrolls but onto our very being by the Living God.
Thus as I am trusting (aka faith) in Jesus, I do not covet, because I am content with His provision: I do not commit adultery, because I am content with His provision: I do not steal, because I am content with His provision: I do not bear false witness for self gain, because I am content with His provision, I rest in Him, because I am content with His provision: I have no other gods, because I am content with His provision etc.
You see how faith and the new nature interact with the law written on our hearts.
We are free from the external demands as it is internally written on our hearts and we are not only motivated but empowered by the Holy Spirit for that which pleases Him.
Example: The greatest command is to love God and secondly our neighbor as ourselves. Solution:

And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
(Rom 5:5)

Here is where the emphasis of the Christian should be...

But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. (Gal 6:14)

Boy oh boy, if only I was one of the elict that had all the scripture on the tip of my tongue to quote. Or should I be grateful that I do not but instead have the living God living inside me to just guide me along in love, His Holy Spirit to minister to my spirit and show me what is right and what is wrong.

I wonder does this make me a semi christian?

Thank you Jesus for forgiving my adultery
Thank you Lord Jesus for forgiving the murder
Thank you Lord Jesus for forgiving me when I coverted my neighbours pots and dishes
Thank you Lord Jesus for forgiving me when I stole
Thank you Lord Jesus for forgiving me when I did not honour my mother and my father
Thank you Lord Jesus for forgiving me when I did give falso witness about other's

I can go on and on, incase nobody here knew it, I AM A SINNER, and have broken most of the commandements, it is through His unwavering Grace, forgiveness and LOVE for me that got me through it.

Jesus came to fulfill the law and I for one am eternilly grateful.
My daughter is reading Exodus and she told me she was driving home and some people cut her off on the way and she got mad. Really mad.

Then she continued her reading of Exodus and told me she broke at least 8 parts of the law in about a 2hr period. She said she lost track after that 2hr period.

I said thank God for Jesus, right?

She said I know, right.
