Hmm... perhaps you're right about me being condescending towards
@ResidentAlien is true? If so, I do apologize. I did not mean to be, but I have been that way in the past. Also, RA's post about people not liking hypotheticals were fearing being exposed, seemed condescending to me... thus the offense... but that might have triggered to be condescending back, which isn't acceptable.
So, I am sorry for that.
I still disagree about your view on the use of hypotheticals, in general. Three people so far, including yourself and four if we included myself, have indicated some previous understanding that hypotheticals are used to "trick or trap"... that should be sufficient evidence that they are indeed used that way. However, I don't believe that was your intent.
Also, (not meaning to be condescending) is it your role in life to point out things that you perceive as other people's fallacies? If so, and there's nothing necessarily wrong with that, you might want to use this experience in the future. The idea that some of us are sensitive to the use of hypotheticals. Just a thought...
