I might add that the adoption is what the believer has been predestined for. Once you have believed the gospel and placed into the body of Christ, you have been predestined for the adoption which is the redemption of your body. It has not happened yet. It's a future promise for the believer. Pre...before it takes place, destination...the destination for the believer. The believer's destination is to be conformed in the image of Christ. This takes place at the adoption.
Are we sons now, yes or no?

Galatians 4:6 KJV
[6] And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

:)How about we are saved by Grace alone through faith alone to the glory of GOD alone.
That does have a nice ring to it, I agree.

But grace is not alone because faith is also present. Faith is not alone because grace is also present. Grace and faith at work in a person's life will produce works. Salvation is a complicated matter (and yet profoundly simple) and cannot be explained by just one
word!

To the glory of God alone - No quibble with that - unless I argue that God is not alone because He is a Trinity! ;)

The only "points" I adhere to are the ones made in Scripture!

I have never read a single page of anything John Calvin ever wrote. I really didn't even know what a Calvinist or Arminian was up until 4 or 5 yrs ago. And I have been a Christian for over 25 yrs.

So please try not to label me.

I simply can not reckon how someone can conceive and birth themselves. We absolutely know we had NOTHING to do with our physical birth, so why would we think we have anything to do with our Spiritual birth at conversion? Especially since Scripture TELLS US we had NOTHING to do with becoming born again.

Now. If Jesus tells us He will secure our Salvation and never leave us, how will HE FAIL in doing just that?
I don't like to be labeled either . . . :) probably no one likes to be labeled . . .

So people call me "Arminian" and I don't like the label. I see you as a one point Calvinist and you don't like the label.

So then as you say we will only adhere to the points that are made in Scripture. Wonderful! Now you and I both believe the same thing because it is very clear what Scripture teaches . . . ;)

If its grace alone, its universalism, everyone is saved. Reformed churches, however, believe in some kind of limited atonement, in order to explain why some people are still not saved.

For the rest of the churches, grace through faith allows people to rule that out, without relying on limited atonement concept.

Yes, we are counted as sons even before the adoption takes place. Why? Because it’s a done deal because of the seal of the Holy Spirit.

Is faith without work dead to GOD or Is faith without work dead to men?

The thief on the cross had no work, was faith Without work dead?
.The faith of Christ that worked in him was the work of God by which he could believe God. Previously having none.(faith)

Mankind is born faithless separated from a God who has no form . The gift of God according to the three day labor of His love is not of our own self, again having no faith to begin with .Faith is the gift

God does not work without faith.( Believing something will happen that he hoped would.)

The thief was not saved by his own faith (he had none)as a work but was saved of the work of the faith of Christ. It worked giving the thief the faith needed to believe God.

Now when the other person heard the same words of Christ he did not believe . Will his unbeif make the faith by which the thief believed without effect?

If you believe your works equal Jesus' works, you are a very foolish person.
Your post seems to suggest that our/your works must equal His or we are not saved.
Any good works I do are because I am saved, the Holy Spirit dwells within me, leads me, and directs me, and have nothing to do with obtaining or maintaining salvation.

makes no difference what i think, i am not the example to follow.
Jesus had works, do we follow that example yes or no.
IMO we dont use "salvation" as a green light to pick apart the bible, this teaching is for salvation, this teaching is not so lets ignore it. if Jesus taught it maybe its relevant.

Not just a seal, but He has given us a new nature, His nature...

Romans 8:15-16 KJV
[15] For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. [16] The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

2 Corinthians 5:17-18 KJV
[17] Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. [18] And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

We are in Christ, but not our bodies yet. Our bodies are yet redeemed until the adoption takes place. Then we will be complete in Him.

Redeemed means 'purchased back'. Our new bodies are already purchased, we just are awaiting to be clothed.

Why does the Scripture plainly state that we are waiting for the redemption of our bodies? If they've been redeemed, they would be sinless. Our bodies are still corrupt, mortal. Are we waiting for the adoption or not?

Romans 8:23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

1 Corinthians 15
49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

Philippians 3:21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

The adoption, the redemption of our bodies is the destination for all believers in Christ. It has not happened yet. We are predestined for it.

Ephesians 1:5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Brother, our destination is to be conformed to the image of Christ. This happens at the adoption when our bodies are redeemed, changed, and fashioned like unto His glorious body. Incorrupt, immortal bodies we will have for eternity. This event occurs at the rapture of the church.

Pick up a dictionary and look up the word redeemed. Jesus purchased our whole being (body soul and spirit) at Calvary. Yes, in time we will receive our new bodies.
i never said we already had our new bodies.

Waiting for the redemption of our bodies. Waiting for the redemption. Waiting. My soul has been redeemed. It is sinless. My body is yet to be redeemed. It has sin and remains corrupt under the condemnation of death. Death still has hold on my body.

How is it possible to not see the contradiction in this post?

You say your Salvation is secured by Jesus, but then say you can lose it!

So either Jesus has to fail in securing you, or you have to work to keep it secured.

Which is it?
Salvation has been secured by Jesus.. But only those who accept the Gift of salvation will have it.. we must believe Jesus and trust in the Atonement He secured for us and hold onto that Belief and Trust unto death.. Jesus does not force us to stay in Him.. People can and sometimes do fall away into unbelief..

Believing something and trusting something is not a Works..

They are not works of religion..
They are not good works..
They are not works of sin avoidance..

I do not believe in OSAS either, but I do not believe we are saved by faith alone. Really there is no such thing as "faith alone". I would rather say we are saved by grace through faith.
Well when i say Faith in mean trusting in the Atonement of the LORD Jesus Christ.. Thats what we trust in ( have faith in) to be saved..

Hi thanks for the reply

Faith without works is deader than a door nail. They cannot be separate.

James 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

Notice it does not say will die but is dead
I never said that those who have the Faith will have no Works.. If one believes Jesus one will believe it is good to do good Works and will do them... Not out of the desire to earn Salvation but simply because of the love of the truth of Jesus and the love of ones neighbor..

What i am saying that all the good works of the saved are a joy for God they play no part in us being saved.. Our salvation is exclusively from believing Jesus and trusting in the Atonement He secured for our salvation..

So yeah if you hear of or see someone who claims to be a believer but has No good works then they are fakes because they do not really believe Jesus..

How do you think one will lose his salvation then?
By ceasing to Believe the teachings of Jesus... by deciding to following another fake jesus,, a cut down jesus or no longer trusting in the Atonement of Jesus to justify ones eternal life with Jesus..

It's not so much that people Lose their salvation, They don't lose it they Cast it away..
