You have never thought what heaven would be like?
There is a huge difference between thinking of what heaven may be like, and espousing this imaginary invisioning as a method of prayer not only a prayer method but a deeper or higher form of prayer. I don't engage in mysticism.

To him who is evil, all things are evil. This thread has exposed the true colors of many to me. Nothing like a good old fashioned witch hunt. Is the pot hot yet?
OK, so witchcraft and the occult is only evil to the one who deems it evil because they are evil?
Next time, try to properly quote God's Word, otherwise cut and paste, lest you fall into the same error as the serpent...

Romans 14:14 (KJV) I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

Also the context of that verse was dealing with foods, clean and unclean, as well as esteeming one day above another...nothing to do with spiritual evil. The Prophets of Baal are looking for a few good deceivers.

There's nothing wrong with the context of this prayer. In context. Just like Acts 2.38 is not for the church age either, but its relevant in context.
What you mean with relevant in context?

So you think Jesus is saying" pray like this ' Father...ect ect ect ?
well He does literally say "in this manner, therefore, pray" and the 'therefore' is not 'since you are Jews' -- the 'therefore' is 'your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him'
i.e.
this is how you pray because God knows what you need before you ask Him.

so all i need to know to figure out whether this applies to me is:

  1. is He my Father?
    1. 1 Corinthians 8:6, check
  2. does He know what i need before i ask?
    1. 1 John 3:20, check
i'm done.
but have you proven your side of the discussion?

The function of eyesight is to send electrical impulses of information to the brain which then visualizes. Any conscious thought is an act of visualization.
Then maby we have different understanding about that what the term visualization means.

I really don't see anything spiritually wrong of forming a picture of God in your mind when you are praying to Him. This is what I do. To me, the image of God is not imaginary. Even Jesus, had a human form. Still does because God said "Let us make man in our own image and likeness". Now, I don't claim at all to know what Jesus looks like but I do know that I know Him when I see Him in my thoughts. Regarding prayer, I try to form an image in my mind exactly what it is that I am praying for. Otherwise, it is, like it has been said, merely rote. Prayer without thought is prayer without any substance and will be returned void.

For the record, I don't either.

What has been done on this site that is so truly terrible is to try to limit our prayers, so any image suggested by scripture is labelled new age, mysticism, or the occult.

According to you, do all gentiles disregard all words spoken by Jesus where a gentile wasn't present in the scriptures?

Us TODAY regardless if we are Jew or Gentile should read the four gospels in context . Let's face facts we don't come into the picture until Acts 10 .

dude that's false.
John 4.

the first person ((in the record of scripture anyway)) Christ reveals Himself explicitly as the Messiah to is a non-Jew at a well. then He reveals Himself as Messiah to all the non-Jews in her whole town. He tells them the time "now is" when the true worshipers of the Father do not do so on one mountain or another. that's it. the Sinai covenant is already over and Gentiles are being grafted in by John 4 at the latest.
heck Gentiles are worshiping Him ((reserved only for God)) when He's 2 years old calling Him the King of all Kings.

and this is while He is telling His disciples not to let the Jews know who He is.

read your Bible :)

Ephesians 1:15-19
I wasn't there ,neither was any gentile. Let Jesus speak to Israel. Let's learn what Jesus wants US to learn from his teachings to Israel/ Jews / his disciples .

God formed us with the ability to have an imagination so we should use it. Just because corrupt people have used their imaginations for ungodly things doesn't mean we continue to give up ground.

If the mind, with it's ability to imagine, can be condemned because someone somewhere imagined the wrong things, then all other body parts used as instruments of evil by others are no better.

Starting to seem unreasonable? We need to take back ground, our God-given ground, that are our gifts to glorify God with.

The first and greatest commandment includes loving God with all of our minds. Use your imagination to love God, to love others, and to devise ways to provoke one another to love and good works.

Am I wrong?

I've covered this numerous times . These are exceptions . ' Programmatically Jesus is not sent to the Gentiles .

Yeah, I don't get it either.
