Lightning is from the earth, what do you think he meant when he said SEE see what “lightning” it was a visual reference look at the lightning that is how fast satan’s power was rendered moot. you need to stop pulling one verse and creating something that it isn’t that is what you have done with your theory of satans fall before creation is nonsense to say the least.
Jesus said lightning falls to the earth...get with the program...you just indicated 2 things....

a. You don't know what you are talking about

b. You called Jesus a liar by your view

Questions asked in my last thread "One Talent" were as the title
Was Adam made Holy and did he live there in Holiness
We know Adam fell, but did he live in holiness before his fall.

Request: In replying please do not attack personally or use extreme language
Please do not bring up hurts of the past with other members, leave bitterness
at the door. And for those with axes to grind, please focus on the discussion.

Remember if you bring up law then your answers and questions should reflect
that we are to love one another perfectly as God loves us.
This whole question is faulty because it is based on the misinterpretation of the Word HOLY....

The Word Holy simply means Separate... It does not mean very good or without fault..

Was Adam created Holy? Well He was unique being the only human being for a while.. ( Before God decided to create Eve) and He was Separate from the animals in that he was created as a higher Being.. So in the strict definition of the Word Adam was initially made Holy,, separate from the other living creatures God created..

Adam was created without the Knowledge of good and evil.. And thus at the end of the creation process God declared His creation to be Good...

Genesis 1: KJV

31 "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day."

Adam did not know sin until he obtained the knowledge of good and evil.. So he was good up until that time..

These verses are also from the KJV: (@JamOn :))

Matthew 25:31
When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

Mark 8:38
Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

Acts 10:22
And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.

Revelation 14:10
The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

Those were the only other ones I found (in KJV) with the two words together :)
These Angels are Holy ( separate ) from the fallen angels and satan..

Revelation 12: KJV
7 "And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, {8} And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. {9} And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him."

Correct eternal life is way different than physical life would you agree, they could have live for billions of yrs in the physical world then lived forever in a spiritual world.
why does He resurrect our bodies?

Romans 12 is talking about eternal life in heaven, not on earth. Our mortal bodies will all return to the earth, dust to dust and ashes to ashes.
but the body is resurrected -- why does He do that?

Hello @posthuman, I think my definitions above fit better with a verse like this one from the Lord, no one is good, except God alone .. Mark 10:18.

When the Bible describes people as "righteous", like it does in the case of Lot (who, as a father, offered his daughters up to be raped by a mob in Sodom, and then later, in a drunken state, fathered children with them), how are we to understand that (understand how anyone among us can, in fact, be referred to as "righteous" in the Bible .. Romans 3:10-12) Perhaps God is not held up as the standard whenever someone among us is referred to as "righteous"?

Thanks!

~Deut
i figure it has perhaps something more to do with Lot's faith - tho reading Genesis 19 at face value Lot doesn't jump off the page as being especially faithful, either. what i know for sure is that 2 Peter 2:7 ((where Lot is called righteous)) is a hard thing to grasp!

As to lightening, and I am not going to get into this discussion about lightning.
But remember the Bible is mostly poetry, there is poetry license involves,
not everything is literal, and although lightening is from he earth as has been said
it mainly shows the power of God. OT saints believed lightning came from God.

When a man is said to be righteous in the Bible or good, or even very good, sometimes holy,
it means he is a believer, he is covered by the blood shed on the cross, the OT saints were saved
the same we are by faith in a Redeemer. I mean this is basic Christian doctrine no matter
what denomination. Lot was loved by God, counted righteous, so that when he stands before
the throne and Satan ready to accuse he may be told, as was Joshua the High Priest of Israel,
"This is a brand plucked from the burning Satan."

We may be sinful, yet we are counted as righteous in faith. Amen :)

probably a key thing to recognize is that in Luke 10:18 He says He saw Satan as lightning -- not that He beheld lightning and it reminded Him of Satan ;)

God by reason of the letter of the law corrupted all the rudiments of this earth and heavens . A change was made. Witnessed by the wrath of God now being revealed from heaven... a dying creation.. A creation whose spiritless flesh returns to the dust and the temporal spirit back to the father of spirit life.
did this occur in Exodus 20 or in Genesis 3? or, are you thinking, on day 4 in Genesis 1?
i'm going to say Genesis 3 - 'dying you shall die' and the ground cursed for Adam's sake. this could be the introduction of the mortagenic factor in living flesh, and of entropy in the universe.

And God saw the light, that it was good: God alone is Light.

1 John 1:5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
see, on day 1 He divided the light from the darkness, and saw the light was good. so we have good, divided from something that is 'not good' -- then day 2, the waters separated from the waters by the creation of a firmament He calls 'heaven' - and day 2 stands alone in Genesis 1 as being the only day He didn't say anything about 'good' -- while everything He does is good ((that should be axiom # 1)) it is still significant that 'good' isn't mentioned in the account of that day. so i think, if you want to pick a day, day 2 may be a better fit than day 4.
or in-between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2 -- as DCon has hinted at. a 'gap' there isn't necessarily a gap to try to fit billions of years of evolution, but could account for the corruption of Satan and the result of it. darkness was over the face of the deep - and the Spirit over the waters: was this the initial state of Creation or the state after some events? in Him is no darkness at all, so what is the significance of the existence of darkness in Genesis 1:2 ??

Adam did not know sin until he obtained the knowledge of good and evil.. So he was good up until that time..
"good and evil" or good from evil" ?

Adam named all the animals before this - good names? evil names? completely ambiguous names? did he do so with complete lack of understanding?
he was put in the garden to tend it - what kind of job did he do? good? poor? completely ambiguous?
did have any understanding of 'good tending' vs. 'poor tending' ?
and he was told not to eat of the tree of knowledge - how does he know whether it is good to obey or evil to disobey?
did he understand the command? did he understand the animals? did he understand his work in the garden? did he understand a 'good help-meet' from a bad one?

the idea that he didn't learn what 'right' and 'wrong' mean or the difference between them until he ate of the tree seems untenable to me, because it implies that beforehand he had no concept whatsoever of it - e.g. he lacks all understanding of any difference between obedience or disobedience to his instructions about tending the garden and what he may eat. but naming the animals shows great wisdom & understanding on his part, and perhaps most significantly, Woman while being tempted in deception 'saw that the fruit was good' for eating and acquiring wisdom, etc. now to my understanding, she is deceived and wrong about what she thinks of the fruit at this time - but she does have a concept of 'good' for food vs. 'bad' for food, and this is before she ate of that tree.

I would respectfully suggest that the knowledge of Good vs Evil
is in knowing their state of innocency. There was no wickedness in them
before Satan entered the garden, they had never been tested by evil, they did not kill
they did not engage in sex, they never lied, they never harmed any one or anything
by bad deeds, speech or even by thoughts. They lived in perfect bliss with God who is holy.
There was no death in the garden because there was no sin. The wages of sin is death,
as there was no sin no death, they were like the angels whose number do not alter, angels
cannot die, angels don't have babies, their numbers are stable they live forever. Adam would
have continued to live for ever in communion with His maker if he had not been deceived
by Eve. Satan rebelled and sought to spoil God's pleasure in the garden, God allowed Satan
to enter and spoil, but God had a plan to recue that lost paradise through His own son, who
agreed to save man, to die in man's stead on the cross, so that man might be saved.

I would say darkness is the absence of light
absence of a light source i.e. a burning sun.

As explained before seen as holy is different to being holy.

God is holy.
We are counted as holy by God,
we share the righteousness of Christ Jesus by faith.

Let the scripture speak for itself, i think I’ve reached that point, of verses before

Luke 10
17And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. 18And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. 19Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
why does He resurrect our bodies?
in its simplest explanation.
1 Cor 15
But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen

Phil 3:21
who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.

How is a person's sin atoned for?

By faith.

Why does sin have to be atoned for?

By the blood of Jesus,

Therefore are we not saved by faith?

Adam and Eve sinned, they fell, but does that mean after they did not have faith in God?

Genesis 4:1

Cain Murders Abel
(Luke 11:51; Heb. 11:4; 12:24)
1 Now Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain, and said, “I have acquired a man from the Lord.”

Cain kills Abel and we can find trust not only has she lost Abel but also Cain as he is put away from Adam & Eve.

Yet we find

Genesis 4:25-26

A New Son
25 And Adam knew his wife again, and she bore a son and named him Seth, “For God has appointed another seed for me instead of Abel, whom Cain killed.” 26 And as for Seth, to him also a son was born; and he named him Enosh. Then men began to call on the name of the Lord.

Genesis 3:8
8 And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.

the LORD God walking in the garden I think "refers to the preincarnate Jesus. This preincarnate Jesus then made atonement for Adam and Eve by providing animal skins as a covering for them. The shedding of blood of animals before it was given to Israel.

So I think they are with God
A Scripture says Christ descended 2 witness 2 the dead I believe. Maybe that's how
