It is shocking what we get stuck on. I got baptized..Oooh and in the spirit luke 11:13. Now allot believe when you get saved should get baptized praise God so I did and more then once..who does not like water right? If I never did I am still saved. Every wash another believers feet? Some still do and I never did never would.. no way. One day praying reading how she washed ...man I cry ever time I remember this sorry..haha you cant see me oops. Well I read how she washed His feet with her tears and .. I always wondered why?

So I just asked why was she crying? I asked this on my knees on the floor in a ball. Ever been praying and you KNOW He or some angel is there? You know His presence? Well He walked up before me.. so starnge you could not see Him yet you could. Just ...oh just His feet. Since that moment.. I can't explain.. I want to be at His feet forever never leave...I know now why she cried.

So I knew all this was true any way so before my mom when home I always called her once a week. So on the phone my mom says "Danny I was at Church Sunday and I saw Jesus". Now.. I do ask her at times about any dreams or the like but.. we really didn't .. it was new. So I said "ok what did you see?' Her words " He was up in the air I could only see the side view and there was someone at His feet in a ball crying was that you?"

Man I never once needed God to confirm this.. always always I can't stop crying every time. I almost hated to even think about washing someones feet but oh praise GOD.. in a heart beat now. So I hope this blesses someone. ... almost wish I didn't remember this.. something so pure so HOLY so wonderful.. this is GOD and.. you NEVER EVER EVER EVER want to leave yet..

Done this
Romans 10:8-13
8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Also been baptised in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

So I am saved?
When ALL pertinent scriptures are considered relative to salvation you end up with the following short list of requirements, all of which are necessary to be saved.

1. Belief and faith
2. Confession of belief as did the Ethiopian eunuch in Acts 8 and per Romans 10:9-10
3. Repentance as were the Jews told to do in Acts 2:38 on the day of Pentecost
4. Water baptism, also as were the Jews told to do in Acts 2:38

Do the above and you'll be saved.

Mark 16:15-16

15And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Acts 2:38

38Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost

I command those words to fall to the ground.

I pray that many will receive the exhortation to be baptized in Jesus' Name as the result of this thread.
I can still see the words though.

Knowing the scriptures I must disagree with you on all counts.

I encourage the readers to be Bereans as concerning what any teacher might say to them (Acts 17:10-11).

Seems you came here to teach. Would that be correct?

Seems like Satan's latest concoction is: "Salvation is very very very very very complicated!" :devilish:

In John 3:5, Jesus said "born of water and the Spirit" and NOT born of baptism and the Spirit. Jesus mentions "living water" in John 4:10, 14; 7:37-39 and in John 7:38-39, we read - "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water. But this He spoke concerning the Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the source of living water and spiritual cleansing. If "water" is arbitrarily defined as baptism, then we could just as justifiably say, "Out of his heart will flow rivers of living baptism" in John 7:38. If this sounds ridiculous, it is no more so than the idea that water baptism is the source or the means of becoming born again.

Also "water" is used in the Bible as an emblem of the word of God, and in such uses it is associated with cleansing or washing. (John 15:3; Ephesians 5:26) When we are born again, the Holy Spirit begets new life, so that we are said to become "partakers of the divine nature." (2 Peter 1:4) The new birth is brought to pass through "incorruptible seed, by the word of God, which lives and abides forever" (I Peter 1:23) and the Holy Spirit accomplishes the miracle of regeneration.

In regards to water baptism in John 3:22, by this time Jesus' conversation with Nicodemus is over with and He has moved on. John 3:22 - After these things Jesus and His disciples came into the land of Judea, and there He was spending time with them and baptizing. Verse 22 is out of context with verse 5. What is still in context with verse 5 is verses 14-18.

John 3:14 - And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. *What happened to baptism?

John 3:18 - He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who (is not water baptized? - NO) does not believe is condemned already, because he has not (been water baptized? - NO) because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
You would have to make the case that "water" in John 3:3-5 absolutely does not refer to baptism and you have not done that. You have only shown an alternate understanding which may indeed be false teaching on the matter; especially if baptism is required for salvation, to teach otherwise would be to deter people from doing that which might save them; and therefore would be heresy to the highest degree; since it is a doctrine that keeps people from being saved.

You also have not answered Acts 2:39 as compared to Romans 8:30.

I will say that water baptism is spoken of in Acts 2:38-39 and that it is given as the condition to the promise of salvation (remission of sins and the gift of the Holy Ghost).

I will not teach here that baptism in Jesus' Name is the only way to receive remission of sins and the gift of the Holy Ghost; but I will let the scriptures that I have referenced speak for themselves.

Of course. Water baptism is a work of righteousness and we are not saved by works of righteousness which we have done.. (Titus 3:5) In regards to the baptism of Jesus - Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness. (Matthew 3:13-15)
water baptism is not a work at all (while it certainly is righteousness); because in receiving it, one can receive remission of sins and the gift of the Holy Ghost (salvation).

And scripture is clear that we are saved "not of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:9).

Amen! The gospel is the "good news" of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) and is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that BELIEVES.. (Romans 1:16) To "believe" the gospel is to trust in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ as the ALL-sufficient means of our salvation. Water baptism is not a part of the gospel. 1 Corinthians 1:17 - For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect.
baptism in Jesus' Name is an identification with Jesus in His death (crucifixion), burial, and resurrection.

And as such it is a confession of Jesus before men (see Matthew 10:32).

Calling upon the name of the Lord to be saved = relying on the name of the Lord, trusting in Him for salvation. When one calls upon Jesus to save them, they are trusting in Him to come to their aid. Inherent in their calling upon the name of the Lord is the essential faith in Jesus Christ that He can and will save them.
As I said before, I will concede that point if you are calling on the name of the real Lord: Jesus Christ, the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost (Colossians 2:9 (kjv)).

See 2 Corinthians 11:3-4.

Sadly, there are many people on various Christian forum sites who are thoroughly indoctrinated and not open to instruction, but with God all things are possible. All we can do for such people is pray and hope that something we share with them will at least plant a seed that one day will be watered and lead them to the truth. :)
I am certainly open to instruction and will easily change my point of view to conform to any scripture that you can show me that contradicts my point of view.

As a matter of fact, this is my challenge to you.

We see the first 3,000 on Day of Pentecost Saved, but No One was Baptized, then few Chapters later, each time someone is Saved, Speaks in Tongues, etc, they are Water Baptized.
Acts 2
41Those who embraced his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to the believers that day.

Yes, that is my primary reason for being here.

I am also not opposed to learning something new if someone has pertinent information to give me.

Yeah, I saw that the other day. I reread Chapter 2. That makes like 3,000 + other 4 examples of people Baptized Jesus Name right off the back. Crazy!
